The Different One

Chris was right, the Base won't hold. I don't know when, but it will fall. Me, Chris, and Sarah plan on leaving, but what about there Dad? From what I've heard they don't really like there Dad, which makes since given that he's an asshole. But leaving him, that's a bit much. Me and Chris haven't checked on the hoard in a while, it's probably half way here by now. I hope we leave soon.

Sarah: Hey, quit sitting there all depressed like. We got an errand to run.

Andre: Oh yeah sorry, I completely forgot. Where's Chris?

Sarah: He's not coming, He got stuck with guard duty.

Andre: Damn. Alright, let's head out.

*Andre and Sarah proceed to sneak out of the Base*

Sarah: Hey, you ever think about how those Shadow things... started?

Andre: Almost everyda... What the hell...

*Andre stares into an extremely deformed Shadow*

What the hell is that thing, it's different from the others. It's body... It's so skinny. It's arms and legs look like they've been stretched out like a rubber band. It's eyes, somehow brighter than normal. It's jaw hanging from it's skull like a tire swing with a tree. What happened to it?

Sarah: What... The... Fuck...

Andre: get down.

*Andre and Sarah run to a nearby tree stump and hid*

Sarah: Is... Is it gone?

*Andre peeks around the stump*

Andre: shit! I think it saw us...

*Nearby deer brushes against a bush*

Andre: Oh thank god, it only saw a deer. I think it's clear.

Sarah: Jesus, that was terrifying...
