Chapter seventy six 76: My father

*A father, one who is supposed to be your shield the one who is to motivate you and provide for you not because he loves you but because it's his responsibility*

His father would always bring him to this shores and tell him stories of the tortoise and the ant, how the tortoise will always hid the ant under it shell and the ant felt oppressed due to it, he would always make a fuse and bite at the tortoise to let him see the light and what was out there stating he was tired of being fended for, time passed and the tortoise eventually left and the ant got to find out what the tortoise had been trying to protect it from as the harsh sun burnt through its skin and the soil it stood on, the tortoise had been protecting him from the harsh sun.

Lee stared at the star and a tear rolled down his eyes as he said silently that he was the ant Lee felt really bad as all he did was ask his dad to take him places, he always placed his needs above everything but he never cared what his father wanted he never even knew his dad was dying of a disease if only he had known, if only he had told him. Lee tightened his fist as he felt this bitter feeling inside him this was what really pain felt like.

Lee's grand ma stared out the window of her room as she stared at her grandson alone in the beach "He's just like his father hiding his pain from the world, thinking he's supposed to take the burden on himself and act like everything is alright." she shook her head bitterly as the thought of her son clouded her mind.

Lee stayed there all night as he couldn't sleep he really didn't know how to feel as his grandma's word struck the right place in his heart.

The next morning he told his grandma to look for any girl who's ready to settle with him and who's from a good family, he was ready to settle down but shouldn't expect anything from him apart from money. 'What a sily boy with time he'll definitely adjust' the grandma thought.

Lee left to the rock house, there he saw min who looked way skinner than last time he saw him and Lee didn't care as he had a calm look on.

"Oh look who it is huh the heir to the jook family what an honor."

Lee remained quiet as he stared deeply at him "I thought this past few years will teach you how to be a better person huh."

"Hahaha such petty talk."

"Well your guys have been making failed attempt to revenge you, they think your dead." Lee said as he walked towards him.

"What does it matter I'll die anyway so they are free to do whatever they please."

"min, song ye didn't die by my hands."

"What does that matter, why tell me such useless information you were the last person she saw before she died so her death is pinned on you!."

Lee closed his eyes "I didn't kill anyone! you killed her min you tortured her sexually at a young age min so don't you pin it on me, what did you expect a minor to do when she was molested by the person she was supposed to look up to huh?."

"How dare you!!!!." min roared feeling aggravated.

Lee took a deep breath "I want to relieve you of all your iniquities but it's not in my power to do so ."

Min stared at him as he spat "You are yet to unveil who you are Lee, we both know you are worse than I am, it's such a shame that you keep your demons at bay you try so hard to keep them calm but it will always surface Lee it will."

"Release him." Lee ordered his guys who tried to disagree "But sir-."

"Do what I said!."

"Hahaha you just proved you really are a weakly Lee." min said as they took off the chains.

Lee stared as they guarded min who didn't care about his brother who was held hostage too 'man is selfish and self-centered by nature what he does or chooses to do is only for his preservation' Lee thought to himself as he stared at min who was dragged out the place with the cuff in his hands.

Min turned "Lee you would regret letting me go, I assure you everything you love including you will be no more." he threatened.

Lee remained calm as he stared at min and whispered "I'm already dead min."

They drove min away from the rock house, he was held tightly in order not to pull a fuse, a call came from lei who usually check up in Lee's absence and it has turned to a habit he called and they told him what Lee had ordered them to do, lei was pissed he told them to hold while he talked to lee, lei tried Lee's line but he didn't pick, knowing Lee's men would never take an order from someone else he felt frustrated as he knew min was a lunatic and wasn't going to spare him or Lee if he was set free.

The guards parked towards the cliff as lei had instructed, waiting for the next command but min began to make a fuss as he sensed something was wrong

"Let me go! don't tell me he has changed his mind huh."

"Stay still."

Min began to struggle, he hit one of the guard with his head and tried chocking him with his cuff, the other two tried to stop him but he was determined to kill this guard as he remembered he had treated him badly the most when he was in the rock house while trying to separate them the drive lost focus and started the engine to shake them off but ended up moving the car to the cliff, they hunged by a tire which was in between rocks, when they tried getting out it shook the car more, the driver successfully got out before anyone else and helped the second guy get out, when it was the third guys turn min refused to let him go as he struggled to get out first. The struggle ended up moving the car and this time the car rolled down the cliff and fell deep into the sea.

....he fell off the cliff.

They reported to lee and throughout the day they spent it looking for min they retrieved the car and the other guy but min was no where to be found Lee had even invited a search party but they couldn't find him either.

"I think the man made it out alive and swam out."

"The sea has a bad current from the other side so I don't think he'll survive if he goes towards there."

"He surely wants to make his way to Tokyo so he surely took that path." Lee said as he stared at the sea min was already a lunatic so he'll do any and everything to leave this place without getting caught. Lee ordered "Spread the search use a helicopter or something."

"Yes sir."

They searched till it was night, Lee went back home and the people kept there search going till in the morning they kept searching until it began to attract the interest of external force so they stopped and reported what they noticed to lee, Lee ended the search as it was barren, he spent his day thinking how to release Min's brother without him thinking he killed him.

"I don't think it's advisable to let him go yet." one guard said sensing Lee's thought

"Hmm I don't know how you guys failed a simple order, take him to Tokyo that's all, I gave an order and you talk about lei's call what does he have to do with an order given huh."

"I'm sorry sir." the guy in charge of the task apologized immediately another guy came to Lee "Boss your grandma is calling."

"Leave." Lee ordered the both of them when they left he picked up the call

"Hey ma."

"Hmm my boy we are having a dinner tonight with the quin family."

"Why."

"Well they have a gorgeous daughter who's also a business inclined lady."

"That was quick ma."

"I know my boy, don't be late."

"bye ...."
