Seven Sources

After living many lives with different Sources of magic and power, our hero is born into a world that let's him access all of his previous energy Sources. ---- I will be writing and releasing the story as I can. My plan is to finish writing an arc in the story before publishing those chapters so I don't leave a cliff hanger if I don't get to writing.

Ch 10: A Talk of the Future

The next morning another doctor showed up at the Aslanbek residence. She was an elderly doctor that used Divinus and walked with a cane.

"You're lucky you contacted me when you did. Every doctor in the district was getting requests first thing this morning." Doctor Dwie said.

"Did something bad happen?" Levanya asked.

"Ha. Not bad for most people. Someone tried to break into doctor Azarias house last night. His wards scared them off but they found the 'good' doctor high out of his mind from White Blood Tulip powder. His regular patients are searching for new physicians." She replied.

Levanya's lips tightened at the mention of the ingredient that doctor Azarias said they couldn't find to cure her daughter.

"He was the one that originally checked out my daughter. Something didn't sit right with me so I called you." Levanya said.

"Good that you did. There's no telling what kind of job that man did." Dwie said.

After singing a multi harmony hymn over Ilinka, the second doctor smiled.

"Well at least that idiot didn't mess up her care. The ointment he gave you was very good. Whatever infection she had, has been healed. She's just tired from fighting the infection. I'll leave a vial for you to help her recover her energy." Dwie said.

"He said there was poison in her system. Is there any sign of that?" Levanya said.

"I don't see any sign of poison. I'd blame that diagnosis on the White Blood Tulip powder." Dwie said.

Shortly after that she left.

After giving Ilinka a bit of the energy elixir she went to check on her son who was still sleeping. She brushed his hair as he slept.

"Just like your father." She kissed his forehead before going to make some breakfast.

That day both children started to make a recovery.

Levanya decided to keep the family in the house until Vivek got back. She had no doubt that Pantel had someone watching them and she didn't want to let him know that Ilinka was not in any danger anymore.

Yulia stopped by to make sure they were doing well. She also delivered the news that Baldeur knew was coming.

The world that Vivek was in had been quarantined for a potential virus the day before he was supposed to come home.

For the next week the family stayed out of public. Baldeur understood what was going on and helped his mother keep Ilinka entertained after she recovered and became energetic.

When Vivek came home he was a bit upset about the delay but was happy to see his family. Levanya waited until their children were asleep to tell him about what had happened.

"I'm going to kill him." Vivek said after a moment of silence.

"While I'll definitely help you do that, we need to be smart about this. If you just go out and kill him, his family will retaliate." Levanya said.

"You're right. It took him two years to plan this so we should have some time before he comes after us again." Vivek said.

"Maybe we should move districts?" Vivek continued. It wasn't that he was afraid of Pantel but he had two young children to worry about.

"That might be for the best." Levanya agreed. She also wanted to kill that bastard but keeping her children safe was more important.

After another moment of silence Vivek spoke about the other major revelation.

"So Baldeur has two Sources." He said.

"At least two sources." Levanya said.

"It seems we're good at creating prodigies." Vivek joked before kissing his wife's forehead. Those with multi Sources were rare but their family had two of them now.

They spent the next few hours discussing what to do about Baldeur.

In the end they decided to be low key on training their son. They debated several different people that they knew to be his teachers.

If Baldeur had heard their conversation he would have been laughing internally. His knowledge from his previous lives would be at least equal to anyone they would get to teach him. More than likely it would be better.

The next day Vivek went to the Explorers Union to get a specific artifact.

He returned home with a gray orb that would tell them what Sources Baldeur had and would give them a good idea of his potential.

These orbs were rare and required time to build up energy, so they weren't regularly used for testing.

When Baldeur saw it he recognized it as an enchanted item made from Laksulm. In his seventh life they were used to see which elemental threads a person would be best at using. Because of this he knew how to manipulate the readings.

At this moment he had to make a decision. How many Sources would he reveal and how strong should he be seen as?

In the end three colors brightly shown in the gray orb. Blue for Mana, yellow for Divinus and green for Anodular.

The last two were a given since Levanya had already seen him using them. Baldeur decided on the third since having three Sources would give him and his family opportunities and open doors that wouldn't be available for him.

Four Sources would have made him a target. Three would still be a risk but there would be enough factions that would want him to join them, that he shouldn't be in too much risk of being killed because of his potential.

He went back and forth about showing Mana or Qi. He knew his father wanted a fellow Cultivator but it would be a decade before he would be able to fully advance since his body was still growing.

With Mana he'd be able to learn from his mother right away and if Pantel tried something in the near future, he wouldn't have to worry about revealing more Sources.

After a moment of shock, Levanya used a guide book to see what her son's strengths would be. This would help them decide which of their friends they would ask for help.

The next day two old family friends were brought to the house to start Baldeur's secret training.

My overall intention is to release a 800-1200 word chapter a day but life and that darn thing called work often gets in the way. If I get more time I'll release multiple chapters.

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
