9 Ch 9: Revealing Some Secrets

Baldeur wiped the sweat from his brow as he put a knot in the elemental threads of Laksulm. He hadn't thought it would be this tough.

The spell was an illusion to make it look like he was asleep in bed in case his mother decided to check in on him. There was also an audible message to explain things, in case she did discover his deception.

It was a good reminder that even though his mind and soul had lived a few life times, this body was only six years old.

For a moment he thought of abandoning his plan but he was starting to feel guilty about waiting as long as he had. If he had acted right away, Baldeur could have taken care of the poison without external aid.

Now he needed a potion to help with the spells he was going to use.

He could have also waited for his father to come home in two days to take care of the situation but he suspected that Pantel already had something in the works to keep Vivek from getting home as planned.

Once his ruse was set, Baldeur climbed out of the attic window and onto his roof.

Three spells then surrounded him. His mana gathered shadows around, making it harder to see and hear him. His Psychic telekinesis wrapped around his body making him lighter, allowing him to move quicker and jump further. An aura of sloth from Infernius would make anyone that did see him not care about seeing him.

Once on top of his family's townhouse, he moved along the rooftops towards the tracking mark he placed on Doctor Azarias.

As a child he didn't have the means to gather potion materials in a normal manner. So he decided to just steal from the dishonest doctor.

A half an hour later Baldeur found himself on the roof of the doctor's home. The upstairs window had a few wards to keep out intruders.

Humming a song of Divinus he sent out threads of Laksulm and an aura of greed with some despair from Infernius invaded the wards. Slowly Baldeur was able to pull the wards apart enough to make an opening for him to crawl through.

While he still had some ill feelings towards his life on Tartarus, his Infernius Source had some of the best spells for underhanded dealings, like breaking into a warded building.

Once again Baldeur was feeling weak from overusing his abilities. After making sure that he was safe in the doctor's attic, he sat cross legged on the floor and used Anodular energy to regain his strength.

If his realm in Qi was higher he wouldn't have this issue. The problem was that the first realm was body tempering, and for the best long term results he had to wait till his body was closer to being done growing before moving through all of the stages of that realm.

For now he could only reach the peak of the blood tempering stage. Though it did make him stronger than other six year old, he was still a child trying to use multiple Sources at a time.

Making his way downstairs he could sense the doctor's life force down the hall. It had an odd fluctuation to it so he decided to take a peak in his room.

The door was left open and sprawled out on the bed was the good doctor high out of his mind. A pouch of a white powder sat on his bedside table.

Baldeur recognized it as the drug made from White Blood Tulip. One of his brother's from his third life made a fortune dealing drugs to Cultivators. Though it did end up leading to an early death.

After pinching a bit of White Blood Tulip powder, Baldeur made his way further down the house.

On the ground floor was the mixing room filled with various ingredients for potions and elixirs.

Since the owner had conspired against his family he had no qualms about taking whatever he wanted beyond what he needed to help his sister.

Once he had what he needed, Baldeur made his way to the front door. There he placed a pattern of Laksulm fire and air threads with a loose knot.

He then quickly made his way back out the way he came. A few roofs over he crouched down and waited for the threads to unravel.

A minor explosion blew out the front door of Doctor Azarias' home. The noise was loud enough to wake his neighbors and in a few moments a few of them came over to investigate.

Not needing to see the full outcome, Baldeur left knowing that the doctor's reputation was about to take a dive once he was found passed out from an illicit drug.

Back in his attic Baldeur sent his senses to his room to find that his Laksulm illusion was still in place. He spent the rest of the night grinding and mixing herbs before using his Mana to boil the mixture into a potion.

He then got into bed and waited for his mother to leave his sister's room to begin breakfast.

She did check in on him before heading to the kitchen. He then waited a minute before heading into his sister's room.

There he lifted her weak chin and slowly poured the potion into her mouth. He used telekinesis to help it down her throat.

As the potion began to take effect he enveloped Ilinka in a green glow of Anodular while he began to sing a hymn of renewal, adding Divinus to his healing spell.

The green glow began to turn a darker color as the poison left her body. Once it was removed he began to heal the minor harm that it had caused.

Once finished, Baldeur collapsed onto the bed next to his sister. He was completely worn out from the night's activities, only moving his head when he heard his name quietly from the doorway.

His mother stood there with a small bowl for Ilinka.

"How?..." She couldn't find the words. Having arrived as the healing was being finished she saw him using two different Sources.

"I had a dream last night and just started singing to Ilinka. Did it help?" Baldeur said.

He didn't worry too much about being fully discovered, since those with Divinus as a Source would sometimes have premonitions to guide them. So he only had to admit to having two Sources at the moment.

Levanya made her way to the bed and sent her Mana through her daughter's body. As best she could tell she was clean of any poison.

"You did good Baldeur." Levanya picked up her weak son and carried him into his room.

"Your father will be home in a few days. We'll have a talk about what happened once he gets home. For now just go back to sleep." She tucked her son into bed while singing him a lullaby.

Her heart was filled with joy as her daughter was no longer in danger and her son had unexpectedly shown two Sources.
