Suspicions

Unfortunately he is in no position to inquire. If people are truly chasing her, it's better if she gets a ride from someone. No matter how fast those people are, they won't be able to follow a car. Sumire said they were gone now, but they could still come back.

"Let him take you back." Toh said.

"Do you not care what happens to me?" Sumire suddenly questioned.

Toh blinked hearing those words. "Of course I care."

This is why he is even agreeing to this, otherwise he wouldn't have made her refuse. Toh didn't want Sumire going anywhere with an ex boyfriend that clearly still had feelings for her.

'I have to remember, that I have no right to control her like this.'

"Fine then." Sumire snapped.

Huh? Why is she suddenly angry? Did he say something wrong?

"Master Toh. There is a guest for you." He hears a familiar voice from behind him.

"Sorry, I have to go." Toh apologised and ended the call.

When Toh turned around he spotted a man with long black hair and exhaled deeply.

"My dear boss, haven't you been showing your face too much recently? What are you going to do if you get caught?"

The person sitting in one of the lounge chairs was Lucifer, the head of an underworld organisation 'Black alice.' and also his benefactor.

Lucifer chuckled. "Now, now. If I do not show my face occasionally, the subordinates may forget who they are fighting for."

Toh doubted that would happen. Only a small few in the organisation have actually seen Lucifer's face. But, despite not meeting the boss face to face. Everybody is frightened of him, they cower just hearing his name.

He could already imagine the chaos in the organisation, if the boss has truly been walking around and appearing in front of everyone.

"Is there something you need?"

"Are you not going to question why I am having you accompany these ladies?"

"I am sure since it is you boss, there is a reason for it."

Lucifer chuckled. "I hear you are courting a new lady recently."

Toh frowned hearing those words. Even though he hasn't been walking around in public much with Sumire. It seems like word has already reached his ears.

"It won't interfere with my mission."

'If he finds out that I almost forgot about the mission, Sumire may end up in danger.' No matter how strong Sumire is, she won't be a match for this person.

"I see, but well it doesn't matter. I didn't say you couldn't fool around." Lucifer trails off. "It seems Aki is onto us, so lay low and do not meet anybody from the organisation. I will also inform the organisation people to pretend not to know you. You cannot get caught."

'So Aki is onto something. But not even Aki can guarantee that he is a member of the organisation. However, if I am not too careful. I may end up revealing it myself.'

"I am aware."

"Good. How is this new woman of yours? Is she pretty? Have you done anything yet?"

"No sir, she is…too young." Toh mumbled.

It still felt strange for him to say this. In his eyes, Sumire is already a woman. But society says so otherwise. He still can't believe she is sixteen sometimes. How can somebody who looks and acts so mature be a teenager?

Lucifer chuckled. "It appears as though you are having conflicting feelings. But, there should be no age limit to romance."

Toh raised his eyebrow after hearing those words. "This is strange, your giving me advice?"

"Indeed, but you have found quite the woman. It's natural."

He subconsciously clenched his fist hearing those words. Lucifer not only knows about him having a woman, but knows who she is too. This is bad, even if Lucifer is behaving casually about this now. If he has done a full background check on Sumire, he must know about her ties to the underworld.

Toh paused. He must know all that, and yet he is letting it go?

'Sumire maybe the woman the boss is looking for.'

An idea that he had pushed to the back of his mind resurfaced once again. It can't be, but if he thinks about the description it would match. This may be the reason why Lucifer is allowing him to continue seeing Sumire despite it supposedly being in the way of his mission. This would make the most sense.

However, if that is the case. Why doesn't he just directly admit it's her?

'I can't jump to conclusions just yet.'

The best thing to do now is act nonchalantly.

"She interests me more than the rest of them do."

It was a vague response, but he cannot let Lucifer know that he is in love with or in the process of falling in love with her. He cannot let it show on his face how much he actually cares.

Lucifer sighed. "As heartless as ever, I feel sorry for this woman."

Toh doesn't say anything and Lucifer tosses him some papers. "While I have instructed the organisation members not to approach you. These people need a psychologist analysis on them."

"Boss, your giving me new clients when I have a long waiting list already? These people are lucky they have such a strong connection."

Lucifer chuckled. "I do like keeping you busy. Also, I want you to keep an eye out on someone we recruited not too long ago. His grandmother is in the board and has spoken up for him. However, there is still a chance he will turn on us. So in the event he does, take care of him."

"Could I get a name, sir?"

"Nagawa Sano."

Toh paused hearing that name. "One of the sons of the Nagawa family who owns most of the hospitals?"

"Correct." Lucifer nodded.

Sumire's ex boyfriend is a member of the Black alice organisation, he is the new powerful connection Lucifer made? Toh sighed deeply. Is it just a coincidence that it is someone in Sumire's circle? There are so many clues that lead to Sumire being Lucifer's woman. But, he wants to find evidence against it.

"I will keep an eye out on him."
