Sing for him

"Where is Mamoru?" Yuhi looked around. "This is weird, he should be here."

"Mamoru is in the hospital. I heard he collapsed last night, so he should be in the middle of an operation now."

Yuhi frowned hearing those words. It seems like Mamoru's condition has worsened. This isn't good. He turns his attention back onto the stage. He came here without informing anybody and intended to watch silently from the distance. But, if Mamoru isn't here then he needs to do something.

'If I stand closer, maybe she will be able to see me.'

Before Yuhi could take action however, brown hair rushed past him.

Aki whistles. "You made it, but you look like your half dead."

"Shut up. What are you doing just standing there?" Mamoru exclaimed.

Mamoru was still pale, and looked like he would collapse any minute. Yuhi knew that the only reason he could stand up right now was his ability. Before Yuhi could speak up, Mamoru had jumped down and rushed towards the stage.

Yuhi watched as he picked up the mic and placed it in the girl's hands.

It was right at this moment where he knew he lost. Right at this moment where he knew, he couldn't reply to the message Sumire sent him the other day.

During the entire flight he was thinking who could it be? Whose confession does she plan to accept? Is it Mamoru's? But now he understands, that he isn't even qualified to know that information.

Even if Sumire sings for him tonight. There is no hope for their feelings to bloom. For now, he needs to back away. Then one day, one day perhaps there will be a chance.

__

Sumire felt her knees go weak and almost fell to the ground. But before that could happen, she felt somebody place the mic she just dropped in her hands. Is it Toh? Is Toh finally here?

In the next second somebody had covered her eyes with their hands. This warmth, can only belong to one person. It's Ru, Ru is here. Ru is okay, he is truly okay.

"Ki, sing. Yuhi is listening, no Yuhi is here. So sing for him."

Her eyes widened at the news. Yuhi is here? Yuhi came to see her? Is this his response to the message? He must want to verify it through her song.

Then right now, the song she needs to sing is something different.

"Maybe I'm hurt, but maybe you're the one who's hurt.

After all, I can't go back anymore."

Perhaps there was a member of the company staff in the music room, since the familiar melody of endroll filled the stadium as she continued to sing.

"In the world of broken glass.

I still want to talk to you a lot.

I want you to know more about me.

Endroll, this is not the end.

All out, I give my hand for you.

Endroll, call my name.

Hold those warm hands and smile."

"It's been a long time, how much time has passed.

A lot has changed.

Don't fade, memories of that day."

….

Even though there was three performances after hers had finished. The media didn't hesitate to swarm over to her. With Ru's help, she managed to escape. But, right now they were blocking the entrance so it was hard for them to leave.

Sumire turned her attention to Ru and cupped his pale face, she frowns. "What's wrong with you? Why did you come here?"

She checked her phone after the performance and saw some frantic messages from Futaba saying that Ru escaped after the operation.

Mamoru laughed. "I came here to see how cool you are."

"Don't be an idiot, you-" Sumire truly wanted to ask him about his condition. But looking into his eyes, she knew he still wouldn't tell her. Even if she cried and begged him, Ru still won't say anything.

"I'm glad I got to see you sing." Mamoru said with a gentle smile.

"I only managed it because you were there."

It takes her a few minutes to understand what she just said, and when she did, she looked away with red stained cheeks.

"Uh right." Mamoru said awkwardly.

This 'awkward silence' is broken when they hear a familiar voice.

"Are you two performing a comedy skit or what?"

Sumire turned her attention to the source of the voice to see Toh standing there. She immediately noted his dishevelled hair, and the sweat trickling down his face. Did he run here?

"I'll take over from here, you should return to the hospital Tsueno. Your doctor friend is waiting in the back door."

Sumire froze hearing those words. Sano, Sano came to watch her perform? Or did he come here to chase after Ru? It must be the second reason. Even when they were dating, he made it clear to her that he disliked anything to do with the entertainment industry.

Mamoru nodded and hugged her briefly. "You really did well Ki."

"Thank you so much for coming, and I-I will visit you soon."

Even if Ru doesn't say anything, perhaps she can get it out of Sano or even another doctor there.

He smiled and quickly walked away. She turned her attention to Toh, he was sweating so much. He must have run here. What happened to his car? Why was he even late? There were so many questions in her mind right now.

The adrenaline from singing still hasn't vanished, and her heartbeat was still beating so fast. She still couldn't believe that she managed to sing.

Her thoughts break off when Toh grabs hold of her hand. She wonders, since when did holding his hand like this become natural.

"Let's use the other back entrance. The reporters shouldn't know about that one."

Sumire nodded. She still doesn't know enough about him. But, something tells her no matter how well she gets to know someone. There will always be secrets lurking in the darkness.

She briefly turned around feeling that somebody was watching her. But, when she turned around she didn't see anybody there. Was it just her imagination?
