Chapter 15 - Atsushi’s Decision

  "That's enough!" Yeager said to both sides. 

Upon hearing that, both sides, including Atsushi, looked at him. 

Yeager then went down the roof and landed safely on the ground, before Clare and her squad did so. 

Then, Yeager walked up to them. "You two would have torn him apart."

  "No, Yeager-san," Guren uttered. 

  "What? You know him?" Yuichiro asked Guren. 

  "He's Yeager Ray, of the Red Scarlet Army," Guren responded. "His origins are mysterious, but he is pretty strong and smart." 

And then, Yeager stopped walking and stood in front of Atsushi. 

  "Atsushi," he said to him. Atsushi was staring at him. 

  "Yeager-san?" Atsushi responded back. 

  "Are you okay?" 

  "Y-Yes?" 

  "Do you want to join my side instead?" Yeager asked him as he put his right hand onto Atsushi's left shoulder. 

  "W-What?" Atsushi responded.

This shock both the humans and the vampires. 

  "What are you doing to our recruit?" 

  "You're stealing him from us!" 

Yeager was upset by it then so he turned towards them. "Enough! He's young, yet you want him to join either of you!"

  The rest stared at him with a surprised look on their faces. 

  "If that's the case," Yeager continued, "I'll be taking him in then!" 

Atsushi was shocked to hear that. 

  "I don't want him to suffer," Yeager continued on as he removes his hand from Atsushi's shoulder. Then to Atsushi. "You want to join me?" 

Guren and the vampires tried to dissuade him from joining Yeager's army, but eventually, Atsushi made up his mind, following his plan.

  "I'll be joining Yeager-san's instead!" he said to them out loud. 

Both sides were stunned with shock. 

Because of that, the vampires decided to give up and retreat instead. 

But Guren was not happy about that, so he approached Yeager. "Why you little..." 

But Yeager grabbed him by his clothes. "You want him to suffer? Even without a demon of his own?" 

  "Guren-san!" Mitsoba responded to this. 

  "N-No," Guren replied while getting choked by the white-haired man. 

  "Good," Yeager sternly responded, before letting Guren go.

Guren then gasped for air, and the Shinoa squad to him. "Are you okay, Guren-san?" 

As Guren responded to their question, Yeager glanced at Atsushi. "So, you still have my card?" 

  "Uh, yes," Atsushi replied back. 

  "Then come to my headquarters in Yokohama," Yeager said to him. "You'll be taking a transfer exam. I'll be waiting for you." 

He then turned towards Clare and her squad and walked away, before that faction left the area as Atsushi watches from the distance. 

Atsushi had made his decision for himself.
