INT. CHURCH - NOON

(Kate approaches Selina, her face stern.)

KATE: Why are you here? You're supposed to be working.

SELINA: Mom sent me here for a cure, not to serve as your maid. I've been doing everything you three order me to do, yet you're not satisfied.

(Nancy and Mary turn towards Selina, their expressions cold.)

NANCY: Are you talking to us?

MARY: She has no manners.

(Selina quickly thinks of a way to distract them.)

SELINA: Hi mom!

(They turn around in shock.)

ALL: What?

(Selina seizes the opportunity.)

SELINA: Bye.

(Selina exits angrily, leaving them mumbling in anger.)

KATE: Did she just... oh my God.

INT. DIEGO'S HOUSE - NOON

(Anne and Mia sit together, catching up.)

ANNE: It's been a while, Barbie.

MIA: I know, but my school doesn't know the definition of break. It's not my fault, Anne.

ANNE: I understand.

MIA: Gosh, I am so hungry.

ANNE: I'll make something for us to eat.

MIA: Alright, thanks.

(Anne exits to the kitchen. Moments later, Selina barges in, panting and frantic.)

SELINA: Anne, where is Anne?

MIA: Where did you come from? Why are you here? Get out before we catch crazy.

SELINA: I am not crazy. Where is Anne?

MIA: She isn't home.

SELINA: Do you think I'm a fool? Anne is home.

MIA: Then look for her.

(Selina, exasperated, confronts Mia.)

SELINA: What did I do to you, Mia? Why do you hate me so much?

MIA: Because you are crazy and... stay away from my best friend. Rot in the mental hospital.

SELINA: Anne, Anne!

(Mia picks up a glass of smoothie and pours it on Selina's face.)

MIA: Are you deaf? I said Anne isn't home.

SELINA: I'll leave, but I'll come back. And for the record, Anne is my best friend.

MIA: Don't let the door hit you on your way out... and don't touch anything so that it won't catch crazy.

SELINA: I said I am not crazy!

(Selina exits, slamming the door angrily.)

MIA: What a psycho!

INT. POLICE STATION - NOON

(James and Kevin sit at their desks, exhausted.)

JAMES: I am tired of these petty cases. They are a waste of time.

KEVIN: We have no choice but to solve...

(Selina bursts into the station, interrupting them.)

SELINA: Officers, there's a case on the ground. I have always been abused by the nuns at the church that I'm staying.

(James, frustrated, stands up.)

JAMES: You know what? You are under arrest for always causing trouble and bringing in fake cases.

SELINA: Is that a thing?

KEVIN: It is now. Arrest her!

(James drags her out of the station.)

KEVIN: Crazy girl.

INT. FRANCES' HOUSE - NOON

(Helen and Richard sit together, discussing their next move.)

HELEN: I don't get it. How come she isn't behaving mad? Those pills are very much effective.

RICHARD: I had to hurt myself before everyone believed she is crazy. I'll have a chat with the doctor.

HELEN: Yes, but we have to think of something else because she can escape from the church, but she can never escape from the mental hospital.

RICHARD: I'll think of something.

EXT. CHURCH BACKYARD - NOON

(Selina speaks to Jake, her face streaked with tears.)

SELINA: The officers brought me here. They refused to help. The nuns are always hitting me. I have bruises all over my body. I want to go home. This place is hell. Mom is trying to help me, but she doesn't know the truth.

JAKE: Should I speak to her?

SELINA: No. Dad's mistress is the one giving them orders. If she finds out that I spoke to anyone about this, she'll order the nuns to kill me.

JAKE: Why didn't you tell anyone?

SELINA: Because no one is available. Anne loves me, but her parents are the problem. She's always attending meetings with them. Mom, on the other hand, is never home, and clearly, the officers don't care. I have no one else but you, Jake.

JAKE: I'll see what I can do to help. Here, I brought you food.

SELINA: Thank you so much, Jake. Your presence means everything to me.

(Suddenly, Selina hears footsteps approaching.)

JAKE: What is it?

SELINA: I-I-I think someone is coming. Hurry, leave now.

JAKE: Goodbye, Selina. Take care of yourself.

(Jake exits hurriedly as Nancy enters, scanning the area with suspicion.)

NANCY: Who were you talking to?

SELINA: No one. I was meditating.

NANCY: Is that a food flask? What's in it?

SELINA: Nothing.

NANCY: Have you started lying to me?

(Nancy grabs the food flask and throws the food out the window.)

SELINA: No. Why would you do that?

NANCY: Come with me, you self-centered princess. You will be punished for bringing a guest here.

SELINA: Go on, since I have literally become your punching bag.

NANCY: Are you still talking? Who raised you?

SELINA: I am sorry. Please don't hurt me. I am fed up with being treated like a lost puppy.

NANCY: This is just the beginning, dear.

SELINA: No, please don't hurt me.

(Nancy drags Selina out forcefully.)

INT. DIEGO'S HOUSE - NOON

(Thomas confronts Anne with a sneer.)

THOMAS: Why have you been avoiding me? You are such a rude brat.

ANNE: Who are you to speak to me like that? Look at you. You're just a self-entitled, unmannered, immature loser who leeches off his wealthy father's money.

THOMAS: Excuse me? Who gave you the audacity to speak to me like that?

ANNE: Who are you, huh? Queen Victoria? You are just an idiotic, pea-brained buffoon.

THOMAS: I hope you are aware of who you are talking to because your parents will end up in a big mess because of this.

ANNE: Do what you do best, you nut job. I am fed up with everyone trying to tell me how to live my life.

THOMAS: You are beginning to irk me. I am sure your parents can't manage this reeking attitude of yours.

ANNE: Well, I haven't gotten my manner badge yet. But I do have a 'get out' badge.

THOMAS: I promise you, you are going to regret this.

ANNE: The only regret I have is meeting you. Now buzz off.

THOMAS: Do not forget this day, brat.

(Thomas exits angrily, slamming the door while Anne breathes a sigh of relief.)

ANNE: I feel like a million dollars.

INT. CHURCH - NOON

(Selina cries bitterly as the nuns hit her with a wooden stick.)

SELINA: Stop, please forgive me. I'll never do it again.

NANCY: Shut up. Next time you'll think twice before lying to my face.

KATE: Witches like you end up in a mental home.

MARY: Your future isn't even certain.

SELINA: Please forgive me.

NANCY: It seems you have a visitor.

(Nancy covers Selina with a cloth.)

KATE: Make sure you keep your mouth shut.

MARY: Let's go!

(They exit as Anne enters, looking concerned.)

ANNE: Selina, what is wrong with you? Tell me what the problem is.

SELINA: Why are you speaking to me in that tone? What happened?

ANNE: Selina, you attacked Mia. Why?

SELINA: What?

ANNE: If you don't know already, it's not okay to attack my friend. Why did you come to my house in the first place?

SELINA: So your purpose for coming here is to insult me and accuse me of what I didn't do? What happened to 'Selina, we will visit you'?

ANNE: Don't get me wrong here, Selina. It's just that...

SELINA: Life sucks, I get it. I didn't touch Mia. She threw a smoothie at my face.

ANNE: What?

SELINA: I came to ask for your help, but clearly, I am not needed anymore. You've found my replacement already.

ANNE: Selina, you being my friend doesn't mean I can't have more friends.

SELINA: Yeah, sure, it's your choice.

ANNE: What's your problem?

SELINA: My problem is that I am not the crazy one. Mia is.

ANNE: Do not speak of her like that.

SELINA: What are you doing here? Just get out.

ANNE: Yeah, I just realized that I came to the wrong place.

SELINA: I don't want to ever see you again. Goodbye for good. Have a nice life with your friend.

ANNE: Oh, I will.

(Anne exits angrily while Selina falls to the ground in tears, screaming.)

SELINA: Why me? Why me? Why meeeee?

(The nuns storm in, their faces contorted with anger.)

NANCY: Why didn't you wash our clothes?

SELINA: Because I can't work when I'm starving. I haven't eaten for days because you three refuse to feed me.

KATE: That's not a cogent reason.

MARY: She needs to be punished.

(Mary raises a hand to strike Selina, but Selina, in a desperate move, grabs a wooden stick and hits them. She rushes out of the room, escaping their wrath.)

INT. FRANCES' HOUSE - NIGHT

(Frances paces the living room, her face etched with worry.)

FRANCES: How is she, Richard? Did you go see her?

RICHARD: Sure, I'm just coming back from there.

(Frances is about to respond when the phone rings. She answers it, her expression growing more alarmed with each passing second.)

FRANCES: Hello, Sister Kate. What? She did what? Alright, I'll be right there. (Hangs up)

RICHARD: What happened, honey?

FRANCES: It's Selina again.

(Frances grabs her keys and rushes out, leaving Richard standing there with a satisfied smirk.)
