Inheritance Hall

The immortal qi that was flowing around could move on his whims. Even the air was under his command.

In this domain, he could decide the life and death of everything. He could even bend space and time to his will.

And that was only the basics. It seemed that the system did limit the domain to a 10,000-mile radius on a 2D plane, but there seemed to be no limit vertically. The sky above the domain was endless and he could control all of it.

He could even see the laws that were a mystery to the previous Wen Qi and he was sure that all he had to do was will it and they would bend anyway he desired.

The only thing that he had to confirm was if his actions in the domain would affect the rest of the world.

For example, if he were to will for the sun to rise from the west, would that only hold true in the domain, or would his absolute control in the absolute domain really do anything to the sun outside?

What if he made a weapon in the domain? Some weapons were difficult to forge due to strength constraints and the like. But that did not apply to him anymore.

Well, that was better left for further exploration in the future. He had enough time and imagination to go wild.

At the moment, it was better to come up with a basic outline for his sect.

"Little Sys, what kind of sect did you envision? I am sure that there was some kind of idea."

[Well, I compiled the ideas of the previous hosts and came up with a prototype.]

As she spoke, a projection appeared before him.

Wen Qi was shocked by the grandeur of the whole thing.

There were thousands of buildings of different sizes and they all had their own uses. And this was just the outer sect.

The inner sect was not even on the same plane as the outer sect and it was made up of countless floating islands that oozed immortal qi, raining down on the outer sect.

There were all kinds of halls and dedicated buildings that it was redundant. It was simply…

"Ridiculous."

[…]

"Little Sys, what do you think a sect is? Don't answer that. You're just gonna read it straight from the database anyway."

Wen Qi looked at the projection in front of him and it was truly perfect, but that was exactly what made it absolute trash.

A sect was first and foremost, a gathering of people who had the same interests and beliefs. Well, in the cultivation world, it was more of a gathering of people for interests and resources.

The way the sect Little Sys had come up with was much like a place for puppets instead of people. Everything was already planned out and all the disciples of the sect had to do was follow the plans to keep things running.

But was that possible?

There was not even much difference between the elders and the disciples. Maybe hierarchy but how much was that worth?

It was not worth it to exchange it for freedom.

"Just put this away, it might serve as a pretty good reference later on."

The plan had its merits, it's just that Little Sys did not know where to use it.

"Let's start with disciples. A sect without disciples is dead. So I will be the first disciple. Little Sys, where is my greeting gift?"

[Greeting gift master?]

"Of course. A sect is a place where interests intertwine and the bigger the sect, the more material wealth and treasures matter. Strength determines the bigshots of a big sect, but wealth sways the low-level disciples."

[Err…]

"Let's finish setting up the sect first before we discuss it slowly."

At Wen Qi's will, the surrounding Qi gathered and a nine-story pagoda appeared floating in the void. There was nothing special and all one could make out was its peculiar octagonal shape, the black tiling, and the gray stone walls.

It looked ancient and timeless, giving an aura of timelessness and indestructibility. There were laws etched on the stone walls and the higher one looked, the more complicated they got. Looking at them for too long would make one lost in them and maybe even be assimilated with the Heavenly Dao.

"This will be the Inheritance Hall of the Absolute Sect. I want you to create such a hall in every city in the Great Desolate. Choose a location that even mortals can get to easily."

[That… okay.]

"Don't be so fast, I have yet to finish. It must be indestructible. The whole universe can fall, but not the Inheritance Hall. Also, make it appear like a ruin or something like that that came from ancient times.

You can also give it an Artifact Spirit to manage everything."

[What does the Inheritance Hall have?]

"Let's design it slowly.

For the first floor, let it be a cultivation realm. It should be a place for everyone to cultivate.

Let's take a mortal as an example. Once a mortal enters the first floor, they should be baptized with spiritual and immortal qi and ready for cultivation.

As for others, it should remedy their foundation and even strengthen their physique."

[Everybody?]

"Yes, every living thing that enters the first floor will receive the same initial baptism. You should make all the halls interconnected and each floor be a separate dimension from this dimension. The different halls will just serve as doors for now."

[That's expensive.]

"Yes, it is. After entering the first floor, everybody should have different formations and resources to help them cultivate."

[That is being too wasteful. Why should they be given resources when they are not disciples of the sect?]

"You are too narrow-minded. I am talking about low-level resources for cultivation up to the peak Foundation Establishment Realm."

Cultivation in the Immortal Realm was divided into 5 levels with each having their own realms.

They were the Human Realm, Earth Realm, Heaven Realm, Immortal Realm, and the Divine Realm.

The Human Realm was the foundation of all cultivators and it was divided into the Body Refinement Realm, the Qi Gathering Realm, and the Foundation Establishment Realm. These realms were mainly to prepare the body for cultivation and it was the main determinant of how far a cultivator could go in the future.

It was also at this point that many forces weeded out the people that could be nurtured and those that were a waste.

Even Wen Qi could practice to the peak of the Human Realm if he was determined enough. But what was the point?

His lifespan was only so long. Why waste it cultivating when he had no hope of entering the Earth realm? It was better to swallow pills and watch the sun rise and set.
