Bumping Her Head Into His Back Unexpectedly

Ji Qingyang immediately smiled after Su Xiqin uttered her sentence.

"The CEO is on a business trip, so he's not here right now. This design is rather urgent, so I'll send it to the CEO in an email in a bit for him to review."

Oh, he isn't here. Maybe I will thank him next time. She nodded and said, "Okay. I'll head back now."

"You didn't even drink your tea. Why the rush to head back?" Ji Qingyang said as he stood up, wanting to get her something to drink.

Su Xiqin quickly got up and said, "It's alright, Director Ji. You're busy too, and I need to change the gauze and medicine."

Ji Qingyang couldn't convince her anymore, so he stopped moving and said, "If that's the case, take care and stay safe on your way home. If there's any updates about the design, I'll contact you."

Just when Su Xiqin got on the elevator after leaving the director's office, she saw a familiar face appear before her when the elevator reached the first floor. There were several other faces, and she was a little surprised.

Isn't he on a business trip? Did he just come back?

Su Xiqin finally came back to her senses when the elevator doors were about to close, and she stepped out of the elevator with dozens of eyes gazing at her.

"CEO Bai," Su Xiqin said as she halted her steps in front of him after coming out from the elevator.

Bai Yansen's deep gaze landed on her face, and he calmly spoke up.

"Did you come here to deliver the design?"

"Yes." Su Xiqin thought that this gaze was sharp and piercing. Also, other people were looking over at her too, so she anxiously looked down.

"You should rest at home now that you're discharged from the hospital," Bai Yansen said in a tone resembling that of a strict family member. Su Xiqin was rather not used to his gentle tone, but she reciprocated gently.

"Thank you for caring."

Her words were an invisible force that distanced the two, but Bai Yansen didn't show much of an expression.

Just then, someone said, "CEO Bai, the elevator is here."

"Okay," Bai Yansen responded in his low voice.

Seeing this, Su Xiqin said, "I'll be on my way now, CEO Bai." She actually wanted to thank him, but there were too many people there.

Just when Bai Yansen was about to walk into the elevator, a thought popped into his mind, and he turned around while saying. "Ms. Su, since you're here already, why don't you finish the design draft all at once?"

Su Xiqin looked over again and saw Bai Yansen walking into the elevators. She hesitated for a few seconds, pondering whether she should go over. In the midst of her thought, a voice came rushing her. 

"Hurry and come over."

She had to turn around and walk into the elevator with her head looking towards the ground. Bai Yansen didn't take his personal elevator but instead took the staff elevator with other people. Three other men were with Bai Yansen and Su Xiqin, so there were five people in the elevator in total. It wasn't that cramped, but because she was standing next to Bai Yansen, she felt a strong sense of pressure aiming towards her.

Luckily for her, Bai Yansen talked to the other men, which eased up her tension. However, the three men got off the elevator midway, leaving the two of them alone.

Su Xiqin immediately tensed up when there were no other people in the space. The two stood right across the elevator mirror, so she did not know where to look. They didn't speak, so the atmosphere was extremely strange. In order to break the silence, she broke the silence.

 "CEO Bai, thank you for your help the other day."

Bai Yansen didn't respond but instead looked at her through the reflection from the elevator mirror.

Su Xiqin could sense that strong gaze at her, but she didn't know what else she could say.

The elevator continued going up, just like Su Xiqin's tension. Just when she didn't know what to say, she heard his low voice again.

"Do you get hurt often?"

She looked over at him and responded, "This time was an accident."

"The little fella was crying his heart out that day," Bai Yansen said in his low voice, and Su Xiqin couldn't help but look over at him.

Bai Yansen saw how sad Mo Jintian cried the other day. Was that why he had Xing Chensheng see me? If that was the case, then he's a nice person.

"CEO Bai, you are so kind," she said.

Bai Yansen turned over and gazed intensely at her with those deep ocean-like eyes. This was the gaze of a mature man. Su Xiqin could sense that he was able to read her clearly, so she couldn't withstand that pressure and looked away from his eyes.

Just then, a crisp "Ding" sounded, breaking the tension.

When the elevator doors open, Bai Yansen asked, "Do you meet such kind people often?"

Su Xiqin couldn't speak and could only manage to shake her head. It might be because she hurt her head, causing her to react slowly, or that she succumbed to Bai Yansen's aura.

She then saw Bai Yansen gaze at her calmly without speaking. She felt like the silent act of that gaze streamed a deep meaning into her mind.

As she watched this tall figure step out of the elevator, she frowned and thought what he meant. Does he mean that there aren't many kind people in this world? So that means he didn't act out of kindness?

She didn't understand what he meant, but the elevator was closing soon, so she had to quickly step out. She followed Bai Yansen's footsteps and gazed at his back. Then, she looked down to think if there were any deeper meanings to his words earlier.

Suddenly, Bai Yansen, who was walking in the front, stopped his footsteps. Because Su Xiqin was looking down as she was thinking, she didn't notice that the person in front of her stopped walking. Since her walking speed wasn't slow in the first place, she couldn't come to a full stop when she saw those still black leather shoes and bumped into his back.

"Ouch," she gasped as she covered her forehead and stepped back. It hurt a lot as she bumped into him with her wounded area.

Bai Yansen suddenly felt a warm and soft body behind him. He paused but eventually turned around, only to see a pale Su Xiqin cover her forehead. He instantly frowed, and his face looked cold and serious.

"Did that touch your wound?" he asked.

While asking, he was already in front of Su Xiqin while pulling away her hand that was covering her wounded area with his distinct hand.

"Let me see."

He saw that blood was already seeping through the white gauze. He furrowed his thick brows and said, "Why did you walk so clumsily?" 

Su Xiqin was in so much pain that she couldn't rebuttal and could only cover her forehead, hoping that it would ease the pain. Bai Yansen looked at Su Xiqin's pale face and asked, "Can you still walk?"

"Yeah," Su Xiqin said in a low voice.

There were a lot of people there, so everyone looked at the two. Bai Yansen didn't think much and said, "Come to my office first."

Su Xiqin thought she wouldn't be able to talk business given her current condition, and people might even pass gossip around. So she said, "CEO Bai, you can take a look at the design. I'm going to go home because I have medicine there."

"How can you go home like this? Come in my office first."

After saying that, Bai Yansen reached out to support her, but Su Xiqin shifted her body and took a step back. "I can walk. I don't need any support."

Bai Yansen gazed deeply at her. A few seconds later, he turned and walked towards his office, with Su Xiqin slowly following. Now, Su Xiqin didn't dare to daze off but rather focused intensely on walking forward.

When they passed by the secretary's desk, she heard the secretary respectfully greet him, "CEO Bai."

Su Xiqin looked over at the secretary's desk after Bai Yansen passed by. She could see the secretaries glaring at her in shock. Maybe the way she looked was scaring them.

She nodded at them and walked towards the large and open CEO's office.

"Close the door," he commanded as soon as she stepped into his office. Now, she could only turn around and close the door.

She had intentionally left the door open; she wouldn't sense that immense pressure this way.
