87 C83 Talk with Rem

Hand over those power stones. Here is another riddle. There is a brother and a sister. The boy wants to visit his father in jail, and the sister wants to visit her mother in the hospital. But they both are not allowed in the jail or hospital. All they have is a gun. What do they do? Enjoy the chapter!)

When Rem saw that I caught her glaring at the princess, she puts her head down in shame and sits in front of me.

"Rem, I'm going to ask this once, so be truthful with me." I state as our eyes meet. "Are you in love with me?"

"No, I could never be with you, Master. How could I be in love with you?" She says as she breaks eye contact with me.

"Who said that you couldn't be with me?" I ask.

"Huh? What do you mean?" She asks as her eyes snap to mine in surprise.

"Who says that you could not be with me?" I say it slowly this time so she understands.

"Well, nobody." She says with a dumb look on her face.

"Exactly, so why would you think that I would turn you down?" I ask.

"I'm just your servant, Master. You can't marry me." She says with a dejected frown.

"Once again, who said that you couldn't marry each other? I think you are forgetting something here, Rem. I'm the master in this relationship. I make the decisions and I've never said that we couldn't be together if we had feelings for one another." I say and she just looks at me with an unblinking stare.

"Huh? What about Princess Aella? Didn't you just tell her that you're... romantically interested in her?" She drags out the last of her sentence as the frown on her face deepens.

"Yes, I did say that, but you are forgetting that I'm going to be king one day. My father had two wives and I plan to be with whoever I please. Although, I will try to make it more harmonious than my father did. We can't have another war break out, now can we?" I state with a calm face but I was very nervous on the inside.

I've read tons of fanfiction, manga, and novels and the harem route seems very appealing to me. I just have to find a way to make the participants friendly toward each other. The problem that occurred in my father's small harem, is that he married a woman that he had no interest in and proceeded to ignore her existence. He married my mother a few years later and the jealousy from being ignored and replaced created that situation. Before marrying anyone, I'm going to sit them down and explain this to them and say that I will be marrying multiple people. If they don't want to be with me because of it, then they know where the door is.

"You're saying that I could be with you, but I would have to share?" She asks with a sad and hopeful expression.

"Yes and no. You could be with me, yes, and you would have to share, but I would like to get to know you better before deciding on anything. How about this, I have a date with Aella soon so let's have our own date the day after tomorrow." I say and a smile blooms on Rem's face.

After Rem's quick agreement to our date, I left the room to get to my date with Aella. I decided it would be best to leave Rem behind for this. Seeing as she is interested in me, I'll keep her and Aellas dates separate. I don't want either of them to feel like a third wheel, after all.

When I met up with Aella, I decided to have the harem conversation with her at the end of the date. Outside of the palace was a carriage ready to take us anywhere for rest of the day. After entering the carriage, Aella kept asking where we are going. Of course, I kept my mouth shut to keep the surprise alive. The pout that sprouted on her face because of my tight lips was very cute.

"We've arrived, Your Highness." The carriage driver calls out and some servants open the doors for us.

"Since we have a little time before dinner, I thought we could have some fun here." I say and gesture to a bustling carnival.

"Huh? When did they set this up? I don't remember hearing about a carnival in the city!" She exclaims in a burst of excitement.

"I just found out about it earlier today. Do you like carnivals?" I ask.

"Yes, carnivals are held back home all the time." She says as she browses the carnival games.

While walking around the carnival, the people kept bowing towards me and Aella. That started to get tedious after a bit, but I can't do anything about it. Making our way through the carnival, we played every game we passed. Pick a Duck, Water Coin Drop, Balloon Pop, Gone Fishing, Bobbing for Apples, Bean Bag Toss, Spin the Wheel. We played everything and Aella was definitely enjoying herself. Due to the lack of technology, the carnival had no rides. Which sucked but I was never that interested in the rides anyway.

After playing every game and snacking On some carnival food, we went back to the carriage and left the carnival. I thought about taking her to the palace kitchens and cooking for her, but I've already done that with the imposter. Ugh, that reminds me that I have to gut that piece of sh*t soon. The carriage leaves the city and makes its way to a nearby hill. The hill itself is covered in flowers with a single tree at the very top.

Once again Aella was questioning our destination. Especially when she saw us leave the city's main gate. I kept my mouth shut the same as before and didn't reveal anything. From my time on earth, I've learned that women like a bit of mystery. Even if that mystery is small things like the place you're taking them.

When we pulled up to the top of the hill and exited the carriage, the hilltop has a picnic blanket set out and some torches to light up the area. Those will come in handy soon as the sun has already started to set.

"What's this?" She asks with a confused tilt of her head.

"We are going to sit on that blanket and eat dinner together. It's called a picnic." I say and gesture for her to sit on the blanket.

She at me for a moment and reluctantly sits on the floor. I sat across from Aella and Nova appears in a flash of fire with a picnic basket held in her claws.

"Thank you, Nova." I say and scratch her head.

"*screech*" Nova replies as she happily leans into my hand. She then disappears in another flash of fire to give us our privacy.

Opening the basket, I take out some grilled cheeses with tomatoes and bacon, potato chips, and a sealed jug of lemonade. I didn't have time to cook and this is what the palace kitchens are the best at cooking so far. After answering her questions about the food she's never seen before, we ate happily and watched the sunset. When we returned to the palace, I didn't get a kiss this time. That's probably a good thing. I think I may be scarred a bit after the last time.
