Chapter 2

An electronic door opened in a wall of brownish red brick as one of the Resistance members walked up, rubbing his forehead. "Radkon's army is unstoppable!" TheMightyA said as he walked in. He was the Resistance's best man on the battlefield but the forces. "Without Zay, the people are giving into hope and despair." He added as he walked to a table showing a light blue hologram that depicted the world map of their home. All they still kept control of at this point was Thermal as the evil trio took over the rest and made their capital the Redemption Empire. "I still dream Zay is still here. Do you think he's…" Aggie, a fourth in command with bravery and heart said. She was the technical commander for the Resistance. "Despair is a luxury we don't have. But I'm an optimist and realist. Zay is gone, and Shadow...has just lost it." Satchmo said.

He was a Lieutenant General but was still an important matter to the team. Right at the table where the terminal was stood Viv, 32op, Rah, Gingersnap and Mustapha. Aggie stood on the left alongside Mighty and Satchmo. "Good afternoon everyone." There who walked in was our commander, Skylark Nate. He was a part of the Morningstar Family and was put in charge of leading the Resistance. "Glad to see you're all still alive. Even after fighting the monster that took down Zay." Skylark's tone dropped in depression as everyone ducked their heads down and wondered if they would see our fallen hero again or not.

"Sorry, I'm not used to saying that." He cleared his throat. "But we'll have to fight on without him." Rah stepped into the conversation and added, "We must figure out the weakness of that creation of the dreaded Radkon." Everyone nodded their heads as 32op continued. "Say, isn't there a new recruit joining us today?" Aggie remembered that they got a new recruit today. Ever since the globe fell apart to the Redemption Force, Ice Warriors and Pirates, they've recruited members who could help recover and take back the world. "That's right! I'm pulling up their file right now." Aggie got the work on the terminal, popping her knuckles and started typing as everyone viewed the large screen connected to the terminal.

Aggie searched through the files full of terabytes of classified information that would give the Redemption Empire almost unlimited domination of DCP's forces. Once Aggie was done calling in the new recruit through the terminal, he walked in with a stern look stuck on his face. "We may have lost some control, but lucky for you I found this guy. Meet our newest recruit." Zire, a brigadier general who was fearless in being a scout, introduced everyone as he pushed the recruit slightly on his back, causing him to almost trip. TheMightyA examined the recruit and noted, "Hmm. Doesn't look like much." 32op looked up to Mighty and told him, "Neither do you, but I still happen to find use for your imminent strength."

And that was true. TheMightyA was considered DCP's best man thanks to his supernatural strength and power that he was born with. "Apparently, we need far more recruits in strength, not numbers. Apparently he's a survivor in the city when that creation chewed through our defenses in Summit. Radkon's army has everyone terrified," Viv interrupted. "Not everyone is terrified, we just weren't ready." Gingersnap argued back. "I am not about to take smack from a general who had no idea what that creation's readings are!" They both argued on when 32op stepped in and said, "Enough! Whatever happened has happened. Ok, let's get going everyone. The world ain't gonna save itself!" Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.

As the resistance began to make plans on saving the world, 32op's spy reports back with miraculous news…

"I just received some incredible news. Zay is alive!" 32 announced on the dispatcher to everyone. TheMightyA bursted in excitement and relief from the down feeling he was holding whilst thinking Zay was permanently defeated for good. "No way! That's excellent!" he cried. Aggie was working on the terminal back at headquarters when she heard the news. "What!? Oh, thank goodness! I knew it. I knew it!" 32op waited for Aggie to calm down from the rejoice she had just been fed. "He's captured in an orbiting prison. My spy there says he's in a solitary confinement cell. They've been torturing him for months." The answer to why Radkon was torturing Zay instead of leaving him to perish in the war was revolving. Nobody had any idea and otherwise no choice but to have him presumed dead. By some coincidence, Ice Warriors helped make a space station known as the "Death Iceball," home to prisoners and hostages they brought in hundreds of shuttles after battles and tearing through what DCP had left to bring. "That's horrible! We have to rescue him," Aggie added. "Plan's already happening, Aggie." TheMightyA said. "I've got a squad on the way to the Space Port while we borrow a shuttle from the Pirates' chemical plant. Who's up for an old-school style jailbreak?"

While our heroes prepared to break out their beloved leader Zay from the dreaded Redemption Force and Ice Warriors, an unexpected hedgehog who was given credence to helping the enemy save an ally.

Mustapha10 was busy attempting to program one of DCP's greatest weapons, an android called Doritotron-10x. Nobody knows how or why but he shut down months before the events of now and stirs the question of why didn't anyone come pick him up if he was deactivated for so long. Mustapha wiped the sweat running down his forehead as his uniform was dirty with smoke. His shield, checkered with a surface of orange and white, leaned on a wall near the android as he tried more and more to fix this machine but it showed no avail. "Hmm...that should have done it," Mustapha noted to himself. "I couldn't figure it out for you, buddy. I'm sorry I wasn't smart enough." What he didn't know was Epic101 was stalking the technical master. He began slowly approaching Mustapha with a Flintlock Pistol aimed right at our hero. He wore a red and black striped shirt and pirate shorts, wearing an eyepatch and sailor's hat with a hook on his hand. "Woah, E-Epic! Zay, help me!" Mustapha crouched in fear as Epic101 pulled a grappling hook and rope. Just as he started swinging it, a mysterious black hedgehog with red stripes brushing through and on the edges of his quills was dashing through with air shoes that had gold cuffs and red tongues.

He suddenly then curled into a ball mid air and striked Epic101, forcing him to drop the Flintlock and scurry in a panic. He swung the grapple onto a roof and swung away back to where he came from. "Z...Zay? You're alive! Wait, what!?" Mustapha slowly looked up to see that whoever had saved him wasn't Zay but his beloved brother who stuck by him no matter what and departed from DCP long ago to work independently in a classified trio. Shadow had saved the day. "Oh...You must be Zay's brother from long ago!" Mustapha realized who had saved him at last. "You should be lucky I care about y'all," Shadow said in a serious and edgy tone. He was unsocial and independent but when it came to DCP and helping our heroes, he was all ears for what they required. "I heard about what happened to Zay. No need for a recap." He added before Mustapha got to say anything more. "Heck, it's good to see a hero. We gotta save the world!" Shadow nodded his head in agreement. "What about this machine?" The vigilant hedgehog asked. Mustapha didn't know what else to do with Doritotron-10x but to just leave him for now. But while the duo left back to headquarters, the android flashed red in its eyes to light green of a jewel. "This is Doritotron-10x. Initiating into my mission: save the world."

A few months ago back in the City of Summit, resistance soldiers were set to fight Radkon's creation. And one of them...was the Rookie.

The city was crumbling down and being devoured by tall embers. The resistance soldiers continued fighting on with their shield and swords and the defenders shot their Wispons, powered by the alien race known as Wisps. They held unique powers and were discovered as a reliable weapon. "There's no reason to fight on or to resist. Your savior is no more," it said whilst levitating and shooting a deadly laser from the palm of its hand to the mysterious gem on its chest's power. The laser brushed through the ground in a swipe and wiped out the warriors. Right behind a concrete guard hid the Rookie in fear as a White Wisp Wispon dropped and rolled down to him as he ducked his head in fear. "I can taste your fear, weakling. All that fear and anxiety…" the creation said as the Rookie picked up the Wispon to attack the monster that had no avail to damage from the strike but failed to.

His arm held the Wispon but it trembled as he grasped it to keep it raised but couldn't. "It's delicious," the creation continued about the Rookie's fear as he shot another laser from his hand, knocking down the scared soldier and dropping the Wispon. "Flee, screaming and I'll let you live. Otherwise, if you wish to stay for what pain and suffering feels like." He chuckled as the Rookie sat there with fear. Once he broke into a sprint away from the monster, that was when Skylark Nate Morningstar ran into the Rookie. "I believe you're willing to fight with us, are you?" He asked with a grin.
