Save me, Dreame!

A massive car crash accident occurred in the southeast part of Manova City. Twenty-five were injured, and eighteen were dead on the spot, including Alreign, a 28-year-old doctor. A sudden twist of fate happened as Alreign was resurrected on the 40th day after his death with his memories and body intact. Alreign then faced the crisis of how to explain his miraculous second life as all of the people who knew him witnessed his burial. Thus, to avoid turmoil, Alreign changed his identity and introduced himself as Dr. Dreame, allowing him to continue working at the hospital where he was employed before his sudden death. It was in fact a blessing to be granted a second life, but Alreign doubted it as he started to dream of dying people, yearning for survival. After treating the person he saw in one of his dreams, Alreign discovered his ability to treat anything, even people's chronic conditions, injuries, and wounds, just by putting his hand on top of their chests. He could also see the color of the severity of their condition: green for stable, blue for less severe, and red for severe. Alreign concluded that the purpose of his restoration to life was to treat these people. However, one night he woke up while breathing heavily, sweating buckets as he felt the agony of the person in his dream; no face, no name, and even the person's voice was unrecognizable. It was his first time to dream a silhouette and feel like he was the one suffering—he was in great torment since he dreamt about this person quite often; sometimes it overlaps with his other dreams. Desperate to end his anguish, Alreign dedicated himself to looking for this person while treating countless patients. Now he realized he wasn't just resurrected to treat those people but also to save this person. Yet, little did he know that saving that particular person in his dream required a huge risk.

"Let me see that ward"

Under the dim light of a lamp was an old man wearing a blue hospital gown and lying on his left side. His quiet whimpers were hidden by the sound of the air conditioning, preventing anyone from noticing.

His arms were folded tight as he kissed the album in between them.

"I'm sorry, my son. I'm sorry," he said for the nth time while caressing the album he was hugging. "If I could only support your needs. If only I had enough for us at that time."

His tears were dampening the white pillow. "I... I will survive this illness for you. We will be together again. I promise."

"Mr. Aguillera?" A female nurse entered the ward with a sweet smile formed in her soft lips. "I'll check your blood pressure."

The old man slowly nodded and showed a weak smile to the nurse. "Yes, do it, please. I want to survive. I want to see my son soon."

---

Alreign was thinking about his dream while checking each of the wards in the hospital, looking for Gab and the old man in his dream.

"Which room did he go to?" Alreign mumbled.

"Room A22, 23... 24." Alreign checked every room until the very last ward of the first floor, but Gab wasn't there.

He then entered the elevator to check the rooms on the 2nd floor as well. "B01, B02.."

Alreign stopped walking as he noticed Gab's figure, who was about to step outside of a ward.

"Gab!" he called, running towards him, which made Gab panic when he looked in Alreign's direction.

Gab approached him immediately, gently pushing him away from Ward B04.

"What are you doing here?" he whispered to Alreign.

"I want to see the patient," Alreign replied.

"What? No. The patient is vulnerable at the moment," Gab said, then he pulled Alreign towards the elevator. "You're not supposed to be here. Besides, that patient is not the one I assigned to you!"

Alreign removed Gab's hand and said, "Please. Just one peek at his window door. I just want to confirm something!"

Gab's eyes squinted in annoyance. "Okay, I'll let you, but we will call off our deal. You choose."

"What?! Gab, what happened to you, huh?" Alreign checked him side by side. "Where did the old Gab go? You've changed a lot! Your attitude. You—"

"Stop it," Gab facepalmed. "I didn't change. You just want something. You can't fool me like Gabe. Now, let's go."

Alreign took a deep breath and stopped Gab from pulling him. "You don't understand. I really have to see that room."

"Enough, Alreign."

Alreign hastily took Gab's point pen from his lab coat's pocket and stabbed his arm with it, causing him to shout in agony.

"FVCK IT, ALREIGN! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!" Gab yelled.

Alreign didn't say anything and just held Gab's arm tightly, then put his hand in Gab's chest. Gab's wound disappeared a moment later.

Gab looked at Alreign, and confusion was written all over his face. "What..."

"I'm sorry. If I'll tell you directly, I know you wouldn't believe me; I just showed you instead," Alreign said. "Now, please. Let me see that ward."
