System Upgrade

Leroy took his time to train his body and inner energy as usual and rested while the system was undergoing it's upgrade.

After sleeping for six hours he once again entered God's Domain.

As soon as he spawned, he sent a message.

"BadHalo, what is the situation with the new upgrade?" He asked BadHalo who was the one to report him any important information.

"Guild Master, the situation is quite complicated, many changes has ocurred in God's Domain Combat System.

According to the information our team provided, there is now a Free Combat System, players now can injure their own team mates with skills so one needs to be careful, especially with aoe skills. The skills now need higher comprension and special movements to use them, there is no more need of chanting or calling the skill name in order to use them.

Different from before when a player could use 100% of the skill effect everytime, now one needs to archieve 85% Skill Completion Rate in order to archieve the same effect. More than 85% Skill Completion Rate means stronger skills, which is quite useful for experts but most players are suffering and complaining about the new system.

Our Team is testing the skills trying to adapt to the new system, Commander Ford managed to reach 75% of Skill Completion Rate and the other commanders reached more than 70% by now, the rest of the main forces are at 60-65%.

Higher Completion Rate gives higher skill proficiency too, it is actually faster to earn it with the new upgrade.

Guild Master can look at the required movement to activate the skills in the Skill Menu panel. This is all we could find for now." BadHalo already had a full report prepared.

Leroy listened to the report and inmediaty went to find a monster to practice his skills.

The huge monster was a pretty common sight in the inner regions.

Two big numbers appeared on the monster head while a third skill impacted in the already dead monster.

Dark Spear Skill Completion Rate: 82%. Displaing 95% of Skill Effects.

'Ho.. so it is actually used like these' Leroy mutered and continued searching for more practice dummies.

After six hours of practice, Leroy was finally satisfied with the results.

This time, as dark mana took the shape of a spear, a terrifying aura spread in the sorroundings, the Special Elite found it hard to move just from the aura alone. The spear was double in length that previous spear he used.

The Flame Furbolg inmediatly shattered into pieces and an explosion of dark mana affected an area of 8 meters around.

'The power of a 100% skill completion rate is actually this strong' He looked at the damage in the system log but it was still surprised that such a system would be implemented, but he didn't complain.

'If I were to use the Poltier Ignea Potion...' He recalled the Potion recipe he acquired from Archbishop Poltier, the one who once served Vlaric, and couldn't help but feel moved. Even with his real mastery over mana, it wasn't easy to increase the Skill Completion Rate, if a potion could actually increase his current completion rate by 5%...

"Guild Master, all guilds trying to kill the Great Lord at the shrine has retreated, with the system upgrade, they can't even deal with the monsters around. At the outer areas, the area is infested with players grinding for the Warfire Set Equipment" BadHalo reported some information to him.

"Good, call the commanders, we are raiding the Great Lord right now." Leroy didn't hesistate, it would be hard to raid a Great Lord, even more so with thousands of players interfering and trying to steal it. But now it was a different story...

Twenty minutes later, the Four commanders and a team of fifty players gathered. Most members of the guild had already returned to Star-Moon City and only they remained to farm Set Equipment here.

"Ford, Jr, Mark, Robb, we are going to try raid the Great Lord now, I need you to command your teams, also, It'll be dangerous as many monsters are protecting the shrine" Leroy spoke to them.

"Good, I've long since wanted to give it a go" Olympus spoke and everyone nodded.

"Alright, let's start moving" Leroy said and the teams inmediatly formed.

The Shrine was in the inner regions, there were many Goblin Warriors and Goblin Mages there. Each Goblin Warrior was two times the size of a player and their hammer strikes were quite strong, players who didn't get Tier 1 Class would found it hard to endure two strikes.

While the Goblin Mages casted Fire and Ice spells with strong power.

Inside the Shrine was the Great Lord Boss, but just approaching the shrine was difficult as endless waves of goblins came out of it.

As the group went closer, hundreds of Goblin Warriors rushed at them.

'Go' Leroy started casting and a large amount of creatures appeared in front of him.

'Ghost Wolf Summon' 'Raven Knight Summon'

The new Ghost Wolf were very different from the previous Undead ones. They had a smaller frame, their body didn't have flesh and bones exposed, but actually had blue fur covering it, their pawns were brigh light blue and gave off a ghostly feeling.

With his high completion rate, the summon's attributes increased considerably. Plus the bonuses from class and equipment made de Tier and attributes of his summon creatures much stronger.

A squad of 45 Raven Knights were also summoned. When Raven Sanctuary's members the knights wearing their Guild Emblem, they couldn't help but gasp.

Ghost Wolf (Lord Rank), Raven Knight (Lord Rank). These were all Lord Rank monsters at Level 32! Altough their hp was lower than an actual boss monster, their combat power wouldn't be much lower.

Everyone in the team knew what to do. Casting crowd control skills and walls of ice to slow down the enemy advancement, while letting the summons fight. The wolves and raven knights moved in a pattern that would allow magic classes to rain down aoe attacks on some goblins without getting damaged.

Even before the system upgrade, thousands of players had heavy troubles getting past the waves of goblins, now with less than a hundred, one would expect for it to be impossible. However, maybe because of the amount of players attacking, the amount of goblins was much lower too.

The goblins killed by Leroy summons would explode and leave equipments and materials behind.

After some time, they finished the first wave of monsters and less than 30 seconds after, another wave came this time, there were some goblins with higher ranks between them.

The team grew frustrated at not being capable of looting and recovering. But they persisted.

Little by little, they still advanced until they were twenty meters from the Ruined Shrine's doors. Suddenly a big figure walked out of it.

Goblin Lord Tserek (High Lord Rank)

It was a warrior type goblin with a big mace on each hand. As the party finished the current wave of monsters, the monster walked toward them, a strong aura leaking from his body.

Leroy looked at the new arrival and inmediatly started using spells, the monsters was actually dangerously close, as if afraid that it's targets would escape once they saw it.

'Dark Spear'

High amounts of mana condensed on his hand and took the shape of a spear, a suffocating aura spread from it.

The Goblin Lord saw this and a grim expression appeared on his cold face, without losing time, he attacked inmediatly.

Bang! a Raven Knight was inmediatly sent flying 15 meters to the side. The difference in power was plain to see.

Crack crack!

The dark spear transformed into a streak of black light and flashed into the Goblin Lord, it didn't have time to react at such a fast attack and the spear landed fully on his chest.

The goblin was pushed 10 meters from his position and then, the spear exploded in the nearby area. As the goblin got up again, all color of his face drained. The rest of the team also had pale expressions and looked at Leroy as if they have saw a ghost.

'The spear explodes, but the explosion itself won't damage the target, it is still lacking, if it can explode from inside the monster, the damage should be much higher' Leroy analized his attack.

This time, the Goblin Lord grew wary and inmediatly used a buff along with a long range skill targeting Leroy.

A figure jumped into the streak of light that the monster casted while two illusory shield appeared in front of it.

Bang! The figure was pushed three steps back fromt he collision while a -2,320 number appeared on his head. It was Olympus who weared a full Yin-Yang Walker Set Equipment.

'Even someone so strong received this damage' Leroy didn't expect the monster to have this much damage. Seeing these, Leroy also grew wary of the monster, and the monster got enraged seeing his initial target still alive. He rushed at the front of the team with much faster speed than before.

Various debuffs and curses poured down on him and his speed slowed down but was still very agile.

Bang!

He attacked with both maces at two different MTs and forced them to the side. And launched himself over at Leroy raising his weapons raised behind his head.

A 'heh' sound escaped Leroy's mouth as he extended his hand. 'Shield of Heity'. Black mana tendrils splashed backwards as the goblin attack landed on a barrier, suddenly the force redirected and the goblin body was sent flying in the opposite direction.

He was going to crash into a figure, it was Ford, who equipped himself with the Warfire Set Equipment and activated both his own and the equipment berserk skill, his axe shinned with a dangerous light.

"Star Slash" he shouted and hit the back of the boss with a solid impact of his Axe attached skill.

The goblin screamed in pain but was sent into the air.

In mid air, he was suddenly attacked by at least ten of Dark Arrows from up and down.

'Dark Rain'.

Many other skills also landed on his body when suddenly, a huge sword materialized and stabbed down on him.

It was Robb strongest skill, even tough he didn't have an epic weapon or the strength based class of Ford, his damage at full power was also insane for current players.

The goblin lord crashed in the ground with a loud bang. And stood up with difficulty, his red eyes glowed among the cloud of dust that his landing created.

'Curse of Piet' 'Dark Fireball'

Leroy used his best curse and inmediatly casted the spell as dark mana condensed with a fire-like behaviour. The sphere was larger than his own body and seemed to corrode even the air around.

He waved his hand and the fireball shot toward the goblin who was entering a berserk state.

Booom! a huge explosion was heard as dark mana scattered everywhere.

The goblin lord inmediatly died after the attack, one must know that no one present had a low damage and didn't stop attacking from the start.

Even tough the damage from the Dark Fireball spell should be higher than his Dark Spear, his Skill Completion Rate was quite lower meaning that his skill effect including it's damage would also be a step lower. It was, after all, a skill somewhat related to fire which Leory wasn't familiar with.
