Chapter 1: Reincarnation?

(Haruto POV:)

Haruto: W-where am I?

God: Hello there!

I turned around and found myself in front of an old man. He had long, grey hair, and a staff in his left hand. He looked pretty tall, about 5,7". He was sitting at a coffee table, which had two cups of tea on them.

God: Come on over, don't be shy! I won't bite.

I slowly got off the ground and sat down at one of the chairs, excusing myself. I may be in a place I don't recognize, but I'll still be polite. It's manners I learned from my parent after all.

Haruto: So... Where am I?

God: Ah yes, you are in what I like to call Limbo.

Haruto: Like the game where you need to bend backward?

God: (laughing) Hahaha, that's a good one. I've never heard of that one before.

???: That's true, out of the 105 billion people that died, no one has asked that before.

I blushed, looking away, embarrassed with myself.

God: (wiping his eye) Ah, sorry about that, anyways, Limbo is the place between Heaven and Hell. I'm God, by the way.

???: And I'm his daughter!

My eyes grew to the size of dinner plates, and I quickly bowed down to the old man and the ball of light in front of me. This man was the one who began everything. He knew both the beginning, middle, and end. The other one was his daughter, which means she is also of an almost equal level. I can't disrespect him like sitting at the same table as him. That would make me look like I was his equal.

Haruto: I'm sorry for acting rude, I did not mean to be rude to you or disrespect you at all!

God: (shaking his head) It's fine, most people don't believe it anyway, so the fact you can accept it so easily is good with me.

I slowly got back up, sitting on my knees.

Haruto: Does this mean I died?

God: (solemnly) Yes, it does.

I sighed, then asked again.

Haruto: Is the little girl okay?

God blinked once, then again.

God: You... believe me? And this quick?

I nodded my head.

Haruto: If I'm dead, I only have some questions, then you can do whatever you want with me.

God looked confused for a second. He then nodded his head.

God: I suppose that's fair. What are those questions?

God: (thinking) He's probably gonna ask for some sort of power, isn't he?

Haruto: How was the girl I tried to save? Is she okay?

God and ??? both looked at the 14-year-old guy in front of them. They were shocked.

God: (telepathically to ???) He didn't ask for power?

???: (telepathically to God) H-he didn't...

God: (coughing) Yes, she is fine, in fact...

God waved his hand and a screen appeared, showing the little girl. She, along with her family, and Haruto's family, along with his relatives, was at a funeral. Then it hit him. It was HIS funeral!

People walked by, both strangers and people he knew, and dropped flowers on the coffin. Then came the three main people he wanted to hear the most.

Mom: (sniffing) I can't believe you died, Haruto... You didn't even reach 18 yet! You didn't give me any grandchildren!

If Haruto was there, he probably would have sighed, but this time, he stayed quiet, his eyes hidden by his hair. God and ??? both looked at him for a moment before they looked back at the screen.

Dad: (walks up to Mom) Hey kid, I don't know if you can hear me or not, but I'll say this anytime I have to. You listened to my advice huh. I'm proud of you kid. You didn't get to have a drink with me yet, but... (falters)

Dad: Stay strong kiddo. (looks up towards the screen, smiling with tears in his eyes.)

Then the little girl walked up to the coffin.

Little Girl: Mister is gone isn't he? He's gone because he protected me.

She spoke out loud, to nobody in particular, but people were listening.

Little Girl: I want to make sure, nothing like that h-happens again. (begins to tear up)

Little Girl: I-I'm going to b-be a policewoman so I can protect people, l-like you did.

Little Girl: I promise on my name, Saphire!

The little girl begins to cry hard now. Then the screen disappeared.

God: I suppose you understand what happening n-...

God turns toward Haruto to see him crying. ??? watches as well, though she is slightly worried.

After crying for a bit, Haruto dries his tears with the back of his hand and takes a deep breath.

Haruto: Sorry about that, it's a bit pathetic, don't you think?

God stays silent, but in his head, something clicked.

God: (thinking) He is innocent, isn't he? He is not tainted at all, isn't he?

God: You are not pathetic, in fact, you are a hero. You saved the life of someone, and because of that...

God clapped his hand as a screen appeared in front of him.

[Would you like to reincarnate?]

[Y/N]

Haruto froze. He re-read the words over and over again through his mind.

God: Would you like to choose one?

Haruto turned to look at God, with grief in his eyes.

Haruto: Can... Can I return-

God: I'm sorry, but once you die on Earth, you can not go back to it.

Haruto then looked at the screen again.

[Would you like to reincarnate?]

[Y/N]

Haruto then asked.

Haruto: Would I be able to keep my memories?

God nodded his head.

Haruto then looked at the screen. He pressed yes.

God and ??? looked at him until he said.

Haruto: My parents always wanted me to be happy, and I've always wanted to go on an adventure, so...

God nodded his head in understanding.

God: Very well, since you have decided to pick this choice, I shall let you pick a world and a power.

Haruto thought for a while before he slowly spoke.

Haruto: I-I don't know what to pick for a power.

God, thought for a while before he remembered the conversation he had with ??? earlier.

God: You know what? I'll give you my last and final system.

Haruto: System? Like those Gamer stories?

God: Yes, but not a normal one. We have done too many of those... I know!

God snapped his fingers and then looked at Haruto.

God: I shall give you a system, but it will be a surprise. Don't expect it to be anything like those Gamer stories.

Haruto nodded his head. He was okay with this. He wouldn't complain.

God: You MUST pick the world, however. I can not do this for you.

Haruto thought for a while before he decided on one.

Haruto: I want to go to RWBY, 1 year before "canon" starts.

God nodded his head.

God: You can change the fate of the world for this one, like the timeline or saving people's lives, and you can choose whether you want to join the Grim or Hunter's side, but we can do that after you are teleported there, but first.

God looked at ??? and motioned her to go next to Haruto.

God: My daughter, I want you to go with him, and to join him on his adventures.

???: W-why?

God: Don't play dumb, I know you are bored, and you want to go see the world- ergh, worlds, so go with him.

God then looked back at Haruto.

God: When you get there, use that one year to train yourself and get used to it. I will also have you create a body for my daughter to change into. I also want you to name her.

Haruto: (panicking) WAIT! I can't do that! She's your daughter!

God: My daughter is going with you, and I've decided. Take care of her!

God then looked at ??? before speaking.

God: Have fun with your new younger brother, my daughter.

???: (in a high pitched voice) He's gonna be my younger brother?! Yes! Now I can act how older sisters are supposed to do!

Poor Haruto on the other hand. He stared at both of them, slightly dazed from the conversation they were having.

God: Now go, and have fun!

God tapped the ground with his staff 3 times before ??? and Haruto began to slowly disappear.

Haruto: Wait! Before I go, I just want to say thank you!

God looked taken aback, then smiled.

God: Have fun, my daughter, my son.

Then after a flash of light, Haruto, ???, and God disappeared.

God: (thinking) I hope he likes his present.
