RWBY: Wayward Enchantment

-----Number 1! this is a rewrite! Number 2! I don't own the art! Number 3! Content warning I guess?----- No synopsis sorry but more subject matter I suppose? This is my first real attempt at a darker fic, it may not be the best obviously. The MC is very much a bad guy, and will be preforming crimes. This fic may not be suitable for all people if you know what I mean. I'm the writer and I don't even feel that comfy writing it! Though I still want to write it and I think it will be a good story. Hope you enjoy and bless your unsavory souls for reading the upcoming mess.

Caller ID

I received a call from Junior half way into the day. I already completed class so I answered. "What's up Junior?"

Junior's voice came through the scroll. "Mars! I'll get straight to it. I could use your help."

He was calling for help? This was interesting, though I have no idea what else he would call me for. "What is it? It must be something serious if you are calling me."

I could hear some noise in the background and a second later Junior yelled at one of his men for something. Junior returned, "Sorry about that. It is chaos down at the docks. I don't know how, but that Torchwick guy has gotten a ton of White Fang to help hi-"

A new call pinged on my scroll interrupting Junior. "Hang on Junior I am getting a call from my boss."

I answered the new phone call, "Hello! You have dialed Jim's Sub Shop how may I help you?"

Glynda groaned, "Mars, I need you to go find Team Rwby."

Team Rwby? I laughed, "Let me guess they are at the docks?"

Glynda choked on the other side of the phone. "H-How? Actually i don't care, can you go get them or not."

I asked, "Why can't you?"

Glynda clicked her tongue, "I am currently doing something very important. That's all you need to know."

Well that is interesting, how did she know they were at the docks then? I asked, "Can you tell me if you are in Beacon or not?"

She sighed, "Yes, I am still in the Beacon. So can you or not!"

So snippy, however I could use this. "I'll handle team rwby... if we take some photos. We can play a little dress up while we are at it."

I could hear her curse under her breath. "Aren't you a teacher? Shouldn't yo-"

I laughed, "I'll trust you to uphold your end. I'll get going right now." I hung up on her. I didn't want her to make excuses or try to offer up something else.

I waited for a second and called Junior back, "I'm back, so what did you need? Because as it turns out I am heading to the docks."

Junior laughed, "Perfect! Look me and my men are tied down by the cops right now. However we have several crates at the docks with some... recreational herbs and spices there. If you protect my shipment I am willing to share a little with you."

I laughed, "Sure, I can prevent the police from investigating the shipments. I'll call back when it is clear."

I hung up and took my cloak and mask. Getting to the the docks quickly was the problem. I thought for a second and shrugged, "Enchant: Speed and Slippery."

I started skating across the city and found my self at the docks within a minute. I released the enchantment on myself and analyzed the situation. I saw Blake dodge explosive shots from Torchwick's cane. It was an interesting weapon, I might steal it.

I looked around and saw a blonde boy trying to attack a woman with a Umbrella. Pretty sure that girl was named Neo. Her Umbrella was also pretty interesting. I had to briefly wonder how they got themselves into the situation. I paused for another second thinking about how Glynda new the situation. She also said team Rwby, but it was only Blake.

I sighed and pulled out a pistol. I shot Torchwick in the leg and he yelp. Only to turn to me, "It's you! You got me in trouble you son of a bitch!"

Blake kicked Torchwick's cane away. It landed near me and I picked it up. I twirled the cane and smirked. "What can I say? That sounds like a you problem."

The cane was better than the pistol I had brought along. When White Fang members began gathering I pointed the cane at Torchwick. I fired a single shot and he dodged. "Hey, don't shoot me with my own weapon. Neo! Umbrella!"

Neo through her umbrella to Torchwick, "A little girly, but still useful." Torchwick ran toward me and I blocked him with his cane. We clashed several times and I actually had to focus a little. "You are a pretty good fighter."

I scoffed, "I have to be, most semblances are over-rated. The thing that truly determines a fight is skill and luck."

He went for a kick and I side stepped and pointed the cane at him. Pulling the trigger he held the umbrella down and the bolt exploded against it. A second later someone yelled, "Hey!"

We turned towards the person and I sighed. Ruby was standing on the roof a a building with a redheaded girl. Torchwick cried, "Oh come on! Another one? Why is little red here? Shoot her down from there."

Several White Fang that were pointing there guns at me now pointed them at Ruby. She yelped and ducked back. The redhead however jumped down with several swords following her. She started attacking the white fang members taking them out one by one.

Torchwick shouted, "Are you kidding me?"

A white fang member whispered something to him and he laughed. "At least one of you know what you are doing. Neo get over here! We are leaving."

My eyes went wide as saw several military grade helicopters flying toward the docks. The blonde boy made the first comment. "That isn't very good."

Torchwick and Neo started moving to the helicopters they had loaded Dust on to. Blake shouted, "We have to stop them!"

She began to chase and I sighed. "Enchant: Sleep."

She fell face first into the ground. I pointed at the blonde boy, "Grab her."

Torchwick's reinforcements started firing their gatling guns. I sighed and activated my semblance, "Enchant: Solidify, Reinforcement, Fortify."

An invisible barrier blocked the bullets before they ever made contact. However one of the helicopters never got the chance to fire as the redheaded girl sliced it in half. There was no way this girl was a student. I made a mental note of her and turned back to the Torchwick.

He had gotten in a helicopter while Neo was getting into another one. I sighed and pointed Torchwick's cane at the helicopter Neo was getting in. "Enchant: Bestow, Tracking."

I fired a single bolt and it slammed into helicopters windshield. The duo started to take off as the white fang members began retreating. They were heading for the two remaining Helicopters that were loaded with Dust.

Ruby ran over, "We have to stop them!"

I sighed, she had a sniper rifle. I pointed the cane at the dust containers. With a single shot the two helicopters exploded. The dust explosion sent out a shockwave that pushed me back slightly. The same occurred with Ruby and the Blonde boy. However that redhead didn't move at all.

I turned the cane toward the girl and fired. her eyes went wide as the bolt came towards her. However she blocked it with her aura. The attack confirmed something for me. The girl's aura was artificial in a way. I don't know how, but I was almost sure of it now.

I spoke, "Sorry about that. I wanted to see how you would block it." I took of my mask, "I am one of Ruby's teachers. I teach the students about aura and their semblances. Apology accepted, Miss..."

She looked down, "I suppose that's understandable. I'm Penny! I'm Ruby's friend!"

I looked at the blonde faunus boy. "And your name?"

He paused, "Uh, yeah sure. I'm Sun Wukong."

Like the fairy tale? Was that a fairy tale? I gave him a smile, "So what are two Faunus doing fighting the white fang?"

His eyes bugged a little and I saw him process the situation. "I can't leave can I?"

I smiled, smart kid. I heard sirens slowly approach. I assume they were slow to respond because of Junior. He said he was tied up with them. I had a tracking enchantment on one of the helicopters. So I could... Check up on them later, I liked the duo after all.

I looked at Blake and Ruby. I guess I should address Ruby first. "Ruby, you have a sniper rifle. Why didn't you take any shots?"

She jumped and looked a little scared. "Well, I didn't pack any ammo. The ammo I do have is lethal and I didn't want to hurt anybody."

That was a frail mindset, however I knew one or two of the students would be like this. It wasn't my job to coach them on taking lives. I patted Ruby's head acting as a kind tutor. "Fair enough. Not everyone can take a life so easily. I only hope if your life is ever in danger you can pull the trigger."

She nodded just as a dozen of Officers in militant gear pulled up. These weren't normal police. I gave my best smile. They split up, two of them coming to me. While the third one who had a much more decorative outfit moved toward Penny. She ignored everyone else and spoke on a low whisper.

The two officers spoke to me, "Are you the guardian of these students."

I nodded, "Yes I am."

They looked at Sun, "What about this one?"

I nodded, "A serious troublemaker, but yes he is a student." They looked at me and nodded accepting my half-truth.

The third one walked over, "You escort penny to the vehicle. I will handle the rest." She turned to me, "Can you explain to me the events of tonight?"

I motioned, "Ruby Rose, this young lady. Was looking for her teammate." I pointed to Blake, "Blake here snuck off and didn't show up for class yesterday. As it turns out she was getting involved with things she shouldn't have and pretending to be a hero. Sadly she was not ready for the mess she got into. Which led me here, fighting off the white fang."

The officer nodded, "I saw the explosion earlier what was that?"

Hm, no additional questions about what trouble they got into? I continued, "Interestingly the white fang were working under non-Faunus. They were also in the process of stealing a large amount of dust from the Schnee company. Not particularly strange for the white fang. However the two leaders do make it stranger than it should obviously. The explosion and coincidentally the... bodies of white fang members are from me shooting the dust they were stealing. I figured since I placed a tracker on one of those that escaped it was fine."

She stared at me, she seemed to process my words carefully and looked at the other cargo crates. "Have you investigate the other crates?"

I nodded, "Yes, I used my semblance all through the combat. I can safely say the rest of the cargo is secure and all criminals are accounted for."

She stared at me and sighed, "Alright, We will cle-"

I interrupted her, "Beacon Faculty will handle it. Since our students were involved with this matter. I believe it is best for Team Rwby to clean up."

Ruby jumped, "What! I di-"

"See what I mean? Their leader doesn't even know what they did wrong. Please let Beacon handle it." After I spoke again, Ruby looked down with a frown and a pale face. Seems dragging her teammates into cleaning up made her feel guilty.

The officer sighed, "Fair enough. I will let you handle the clean up. However please make a full report of it later."

Yeah I wasn't gonna make a report. I'll make Ruby do that, she was already feeling responsible. The officer marched off towards an Atlas Vehicle. That I will need to report to Glynda however. I pointed to Ruby, "Gather your team. Discuss what you need to. Once done, meet me in my classroom tomorrow. You have a lot of work to do, I have to call Glynda."

I paused and turned to Sun, "You, I want you to go to Glynda Goodwitch's office. If she isn't there wait until she is or you are called to a different office."

He sighed, "Understood."

I nodded, "Now follow Ruby, I don't think she could carry Blake alone."

He nodded once more and when they started walking off, I pulled out my scroll. I called Junior he picked up a second later. "Mars?"

I smirked, "You got until tomorrow. I'll pick up my cut the day after."

He laughed, "Understood, I'll send the Malachite twins over. If you run into them... Please, just ignore them. They are the daughters of my boss."

I raised an eyebrow, "You have a boss?"

He sighed, "Sorta, its more complicated than you'd expect. If you really want the explanation I can give it to you when you ick up your cut. Otherwise, I think it doesn't really matter."

I responded one last time before hanging up. "Fair enough, Call me back if their is any problems."

Now I just have to call Glynda, this will likely be a longer phone call.
