Saving the Day

"GET THE BRATS!"

Following Roman's order, the henchmen charged at them without any kind of strategy while carrying swords and guns in their hands.

"Well, pick your side Jin." Ruby asked in an excited tone.

Her twin brother responded by dashing to the charging trio of henchmen on the left, while Ruby just waited for her own enemies to come.

"There he goes..." Ruby mumbled to herself while watching Jin moving out.

Jin did a simple, but imperceptible and thunderous punch at the nearest cannon fodder, sending the man flying and crashing back to the walls of the shop. His lying body was twitching in pain at the electric shock he got from that punch.

Jin then turned his eyes on another henchman who was charging at him with a red sword in hand. The criminal then got closer to him and made a furious slash at the young man's chest.

Jin had a grin as he casually grabbed the criminal's sword. The criminal was surprised at the teen's actions and he tried to get his sword back, but alas, it was futile.

"What the-oof!"

Before the criminal could finish his words, Jin suddenly sent the man flying with a loud and thunderous slap, sending him crashing into a lamp post and his body twitching from the electrical shock.

"This brat's a freak!" The last henchman shouted as he pulled out a machine gun.

He then pulled the trigger and unloaded a rain of bullets at Jin, but the man himself quickly waved his arms and a red frontal barrier made of Aura was immediately formed and shielded him from the iron rain.

Even though he wouldn't be harmed by those little things, he still didn't like the tickling feeling he gets when he gets hit by it, thus he doesn't like being struck by bullets.

Jin then quickly reached out his left arm and fired a bolt of red lightning at the criminal, frying and electrifying him as his body violently trembled from the shock.

And in the next moment, the criminal slumped down from the ground with electricity still sparkling on his body.

"Tsumaranai." (Boring)

Jin looked at the defeated cannon fodders with a bored face, he then turned to watch his sister defeat her own opponents.

On the otherside....

The nearest criminal charged at young girl with a sword in hand and made a quick slash. Ruby just dodged it effortlessly as she twirled her scythe and kicks the first criminal in the face, sending him flying back at the interiors of the shop.

She then pulls Crescent Rose out of the ground and swings it off to strike the other criminal upward with the butt of her weapon, sending the second criminal flying away to the street while tumbling down.

Ruby twirls her scythe again and faces the last attacker, the third criminal then took out a machine gun and pulls the trigger, unleashing a barrage of bullets at her.

(Insert Machine Gun Firing SFX)

Ruby just dodges all the bullets with an amazing speed and gets close enough to knock him into the air and jumped upwards to strike again, brutally beating the man in mid-air and sending him flying in front of his boss's feet.

Roman just gazed down at the cannon fodder moaning in pain with a look of disappointment. He then looks around and saw that every one of his goons were easily defeated.

"What are you gonna do now, Roman?" Jin stepped up as he spoke out in a mocking tone.

Ruby then suddenly appeared besides him and asked, "Hey Jin, you know this guy?"

"Yeah, I encountered him in the times when I was randomly roaming around town and was doing my own thing. In that time, this guy was also doing a robbery on another Dust shop, but he obviously failed cause I was there to stop him." Jin replied, which earned him a look of admiration from Ruby.

"Well, you two were worth every cent. Truly, you were." Roman said sarcastically before turning back to the twins.

His goons were defeated in mere seconds, and he knew that he wasn't a match against these two. Especially against the silver eyed boy.

He then dropped his cigar and crushes it with his cane as police sirens were now audible in the background, indicating that the police were coming because of the commotion.

"Well Reds, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd like to stick around..." He then raised his cane, its bottom part was unfolded and revealed a gun crosshair.

"I'm afraid this is where we part ways, and I swear I'll pay you both back with great interest!" Roman continued on in his dialogue but he said the last part with great anger.

Mainly because of the young man. This brat actually managed to stop him and foil his plans yet again! This has happened three times now, including today. Everytime they met, Jin would always win and his heists would fail.

Roman then fired a round of red blast at the two, and the twins quickly jumped away at the big explosion. The thief didn't waste anytime and he immediately made a quick dash to the right and made his way towards a building with ladders that made its direction to the rooftop.

When the siblings landed on the ground, they looked up and saw that Roman just magically disappeared.

Jin turned his head to the right and Ruby does the same, they now saw that Roman was climbing up a ladder on the side of a nearby building.

'I already know that he'll do this, but damn. How can he be that fast?' Jin thought to himself before looking at the elderly shopkeeper, who just came out of the store to check the situation.

"Hey, old man! We're going after him, alright!"

"Take care of yourself, Mister!" Ruby also said back.

The shopkeeper just nodded, and the two was now in hot pursuit as they quickly followed Roman up to the rooftop.

"HEY!" Ruby yelled out as she saw Roman running towards the edge of the roof.

"Oh, come on. Don't kill yourself now, Roman. We can still talk this out." Jin jokingly spoke out,

This made Roman almost turn back, but he held himself as he didn't do it. Though, a tick mark appeared on his forehead at hearing the teen's words as he frowned before speaking up.

"Persistent."

Ruby prepares herself to fight him, but then a wild M-27 VTOL 'Bullhead' rose up and appeared in front of the thief.

The Bullhead is a VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) tiltjet aircraft, meaning that it is an aircraft that can hover, take off and land vertically. As a tiltjet aircraft, this is done using jet engines with thrust vectoring to achieve both forward flight and vertical ascent and descent. It also allows for the aircraft to tilt or turn sharply while still in the same airspace.

Initially, they were developed to drop soldiers and Hunters into combat zones quickly. But since Remnant had known a time of peace for a long while, the Bullhead had long since been phased out and can also now used to transport regular passengers and cargo.

It was even available for the general public for purchase, though it had a hefty price tag.

Roman then jumps in and gets aboard on the get-away aircraft, before turning around to face the twins while holding a red Dust crystal.

"End of the line, you brats!" He yelled over the loud the engines.

And with that, he then threw the Dust crystal at their feet. Ruby stared at it and was confused, as she didn't know what it could do.

Once again, Roman raised his cane and fired a red blast, detonating the Burn Dust crystal with a loud explosion and in a column of fire.

"Whoa-ho-ho-ho!" The criminal laughed triumphantly.

But when the smoke started to clear up a little, he immediately stopped laughing and had an 'Oh, Shit' look after seeing a purple glow through the smoke.

'Oh no...'

-----

Another fighter had entered the fray, blocking the explosion for the twins with a purple barrier that seemed to be produced from her wand.

The new player had a blonde hair, green eyes, and wore a black cape, lined with a purple interior. Ruby had a look of awe on her face while Jin just looked at her indifferently.

'Not really needed, but thanks I guess.' He thought.

Roman immediately recognized her as Glynda Goodwitch, an elite Huntress and a teacher at Beacon Academy. If she was here, then this would be a huge problem.

"Hmmm..."

Glynda adjusted her glasses before waving her wand, summoning a stream of purple energy bolts, at fired it at the aircraft.

The Bullhead was shook on the impact, the aircraft considerably had a high armor so it wouldn't be destroyed easily.

Roman stumbled on impact and was thrown around in the cargo bay. He then dropped his cane and hurriedly went into the cockpit, where a woman in red clothing was struggling with the controls in order to keep the Bullhead stabilized.

"We got a huntress!" Roman yelled over the blaring emergency sirens of the aircraft.

The woman nodded and then she stood up. Roman quickly takes her place on the controls and the woman in red clothing went to the back.

Glynda, who just begun to attack the Bullhead, swiped her wand in the air and summoned a number of dense, dark storm clouds above the aircraft.

Roman just looked at the dark clouds in amazement. He's heard stories about Glynda's abilities, but seeing them in action was really unbelievable.

With a flick of her hand, the black clouds began to rain down sharpened icicle hail fragments, striking the aircraft and shaking it around. Some even broke through the cockpit, and one nearly struck Roman's head.

Roman's seemed to be partner in crime, finally appeared before the trio and her arms glew with fiery markings. She then began to retaliate with her own attacks, reaching out her hands and unleashing blasts of flames at Glynda.

The blonde huntress simply jumped and dodged her attacks as explosion occured on the areas of the roof. She then telekinetically controlled the debris of the rooftop to form a large purple glowing spear, which she immediately fires it at the Bullhead.

Roman's ally quickly fired a series of explosive flames at the spear, it was destroyed but it quickly reformed before launching itself on the aircraft's engines.

Roman saw the whole scene and he made the Bullhead lean, making the spear miss the engines, but the aircraft was still hit as it shook on the impact.

The criminal was now struggling with the controls again and the woman was holding on to the handles to prevent herself from being tossed around in the back.

Glynda wasn't done yet as she waves her wand around and the debris separated and reshapes to form multiple spears that encircled the aircraft.

Roman's partner then summons some several flaming and glowing runic rings around herself before unleashing a flaming pulse that incinerated the spears on impact.

At that point, Ruby decided that now would be the best time to jump in and help.

Folding her weapon into it's sniper mode, she started firing rounds after rounds at the woman on the Bullhead. The woman simply held her hand up and blocked every bullet easily with her bare hands like they were annoying insects.

Seeing her attacks being treated as a joke, Ruby was having a troubled look and then she looked at her brother.

Jin was just smiling as he took out a lien coin and flipped it to the air. Red electricity was now sparking around his body and it was getting stronger by the second.

Seeing this, Ruby's eyes got bigger and her mouth opened wide in shock.

The actions of her twin can only mean one thing.....

'Is he really gonna do that move here?!'

He was gonna do one of his strongest attacks.

[The Railgun]

This kind of technique was one of Jin's most powerful attacks, as its power was adjustable depending on how much electricity he was going to use to form parallel currents on both sides of his arm.

So if he uses his full power; which is generating electricity whose current maximum output is more than a billion volts, then his [Railgun] would have an unimaginable power.

And of course, this move was inspired from Misaka Mikoto from Toaru Majutsu no Index franchise in his past life.

His semblance was perfect for doing that kind of technique, so why wouldn't he?

He already knew how the move works and the scientific principles behind it because of him being knowledgeable about so many things in the Toaru franchise.

The first time Ruby saw her brother doing this technique, was when the [Railgun] managed to cause so much destruction on a mountain side and almost completely destroyed the face of a mountain and the coin projectile travelling far into an unknown distance.

The coin was now in mid-air, as massive amounts of red electricity was being generated in Jin's right arm.

Time seemed to stop for Ruby as she held her breath and prepared herself to witness the might of the [Railgun] once again.

But before the coin would land on Jin's hands, the woman on the aircraft waved her hands, creating several blazing circles underneath them that was making a sizzling sound.

Glynda already knew what was going to happen, so she waved her hand at the twins, telekinetically pushing them away from harm's way and she back-flips out again before an explosion occured on their former positions.

*Boom!*

Roman quickly took this chance to escape and he controlled the Bullhead to fly away.

Glynda quickly composed herself before looking at the sky, only to see that the Bullhead was now flying away, too far for them to reach and soon disappearing from their sight.

"Well, looks like I just got cucked right there." Jin smiled helplessly as he got back up and scratched his head.

He was quite upset that he was interrupted while he was preparing for his attack.

'Then again, if I really destroyed that aircraft, then everything would change.'

He then turns to the blond woman. He already knew that she was Glynda Goodwitch, the head mistress of Beacon Academy.

Meanwhile, Ruby also got back up and quickly landed her eyes on Glynda. And In the next moment, she scurries over to her and pulled out a notebook.

"You're a huntress!" Ruby putted on a admiring and awe-stricken face.

Frowning, Glynda turned to the ones who had managed to stop the robbery, and she was met with a pair of sparkling eyes from the young girl.

"Can I have your autograph?!" Ruby asked in glee, while Jin just sighed helplessly at the scene.

"Here we go."
