A month had passed since the troops were sent out to war and just as expected they met their opponents.
Reports came in every few days about the clashes that occurred on each front and it wasn't looking good. Although they were winning and pushing them back, they also suffered losses as Turwen had greater numbers.
Tension was high in the village. It was so high even the normal civilians were affected by it. The normally cheerful mood of the village turned to a sober atmosphere.

"Although you have good foresight, you're still predictable and get easily frustrated when your plan doesn't work. When fighting, do not show anything that the enemy can use against you…"
Sitting on the floor, Reid was panting as he looked up to his mother as she spoke. They had just finished an exhausting fight…well it was exhausting for Reid. It was evening but that didn't stop them from training.
"Also, you get tired too easily. Always conserve your energy when fighting. You never know what your opponent has planned for you." She continued to point out his mistake and how to correct them.
This has been a regular thing for the past month. With the war already started and things not looking good, this was the only thing giving her peace of mind. As the clan head, it would be a taboo to say that she cared more about her son than the entire clan but it was true.
That was one of the reasons she pulled him out of the academy. She wanted…no…she needed to be sure that her son would grow up strong with her guidance. Of course she had heard people questioning if Reid was a coward. Some had gone far enough to wonder for a second if he was worthy to lead the clan one day but they quickly removed that thought.
By the time she finished her lecture, Reid was already experiencing a headache. Miko serious face broke into a smile seeing Reid slowly and painfully digesting her words.
'I still have a long way to go.' He thought with a sigh. Even after using everything he could, [Lightning Aura Transformation] and [Flash Step] included, he couldn't so much as scratch her.
"Let's continu-" She was cut off as Lisa ran into the clearing they were training in.
"Miko, there's a situation that needs your attention." She said urgently. If her words didn't convince her then the serious aura around her did. She turned to her son and spoke.
"We're done for the day. Go home." He wanted to object but the look she gave him made him swallow that thought.
Although she allowed him to participate in this war to some extent, that didn't mean she would let him participate in everything when it could be avoided. With that said, Miko and Lisa hurriedly made their way out.
With a sigh, he dragged himself to his feet and turned in the direction of his home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It would take a total of fifteen minutes to get to his home if he ran but he decided to take it slow. Reid had a lot of things on his mind and this was a much needed walk.
'Even in this life I can't catch a break…' he thought. In his former life, he battled hunger and poverty and in this life he battled men. He had allowed himself a long six years of ignorance but he didn't have that privilege anymore.
He would be lying if he said he wasn't scared for what's to come but he had no choice but to adapt. Behind the title 'genius of the Uchiha', there was a scared boy who only knew how to survive.
His mind went to his mother and a smile graced his lips.
'That's right. I'm not alone anymore.' He thought. No longer was he alone in life. Even if he wasn't born with power or his mother wasn't the clan head, he would still be happy. The love from a mother is an incredibly difficult thing to get rid of…not that he'd want to get rid of it.
As he was deep in his thoughts he didn't notice the shadow that emerged behind him. He didn't notice as it stretched its gloved hand towards his neck…at least that's what it seemed like.
Just as the hand was about to touch Reid's neck, the figure found black eyes staring straight at him. His wrist was grabbed and used as leverage as Reid pulled himself towards the figure with his foot swinging at the head.
In a show of speed and experience, they freed their hand from his grasp and bent backwards into a flip, completely dodging the kick.
He watched the figure which, looking clearly now, was a man land some distance away.
"Who are you?" Reid demanded with narrow eyes.
'Shit! I let my guard down. I didn't notice him until the last second.' He was so deep in thought that he completely missed the appearance of this person. He didn't know what would have happened had he succeeded in grabbing him but he knew it wasn't anything good.
"Well would you look at that. I didn't think you'd actually notice me with how distracted you seemed." The man spoke, amused.
'Even he noticed it!' Reid cursed at his own carelessness.
"It doesn't matter either way because you're going to die here." The man said as pulled out a large greatsword from underneath the cloak he wore.
'What the hell?'
Reid's eyes widened at the size of the weapon. It was almost as big as Reid himself so he could only imagine the kind of strength needed to carry it around.
Suddenly with speed unbefitting of someone carry such a weapon, the man rushed towards him with the large cleaver ready to end his life.
Reid harbored no thoughts of blocking it and immediately flash stepped away as it shattered the ground he was previously standing on.
'If that thing so much as touches me I'm dead!' Reid thought, putting some distance between both of them.
'If I can't get close to him then…' Putting his hands in his pocket, he quickly pulled out a few kunai in both hands. On instinct, he was about to charge them with lightning only to change his mind a moment later, saving it as a hidden card.
With expertise unbecoming of his age, he quickly took aim and launched them through the air. A coat of aura surrounded them but it made no difference as they were easily blocked by the flat of the blade.
The large blade shook a bit with each kunai that hit but it didn't budge or crack. Seeing that it wasn't working, Reid threw one more kunai towards him into the air, this time not aiming for the blade.
With the large weapon blocking his sight, he didn't see the kunai flying past until it flew right beside his face. He noticed a small ball attached to the end of the kunai by a string.
*POOF!*
The ball exploded loudly, releasing a cloud of smoke around the man.
"Don't make this difficult kid!" He yelled predicting that the boy would use this chance to escape, swinging at the smoke with the large cleaver, clearing the smoke.
As he slapped the smoke away, unlike what he expected, he was met with Reid in front of him with a sword in his hand in a swinging motion.
The man's eyes widened as he hurriedly pulled his cleaver back and slashed the boy aiming to take his head off. With the way they were both positioned and the speed of the blade, Reid had no chance of avoiding or dodging it.
'Rest in peace!' The man thought as he saw his blade close to the boy's neck, about to take it off. His eyes widened again as Reid suddenly leaned his head in a way that it only kissed the tips of his bangs as his own blade continued its way towards the man.
Only then did he notice that the boys eyes which were previously black were now tinted red with two tomoe in each eye. What shocked him the most was how his eyes easily followed the blade and then shifted to look him dead in the eyes.
'Wha-what is this…??' The man thought watching the blade coming closer to his throat.
"Die!" Reid cried out, determined to end this fight.
