26 Chapter 26: Training (6)

Chapter 26: Training (6)

~Ozpin POV~

"Hmm…"

Glancing through the reports of Qrow and my allies I seem to have some clues regarding Cinder Fall the supposed culprit who took the Fall Maiden power thanks to the helpful tip from the upcoming student going to Beacon.

Although I would prefer that there was background about this Jack Nights, I already called a favor for my other Headmasters to search for any info regarding Cinder Falls immediately.

This also extends to Jack as well for more info when Tai explained to me his backstory or the lack thereof.

As for the boy…

Well…

He has his uses as he provided himself with his unique abilities shown are certainly… unordinary to be sure.

I would have thought he was from the Black Family with multiple semblances but to be fact be one?

That… that alone is truly unordinary to the rest of people in Remnant especially copying hereditary semblances since for most Classes being the Intelligence, Reaction, or possibly Effect types are near impossible but…

"Sorry, Ozpin but there is no info regarding Jack Nights."

Hearing the sounds of disappointment from my trusted teammate during our years together Glynda spoke as I hummed to her, "Hmm… Are you positive there isn't any info about this Jack Nights? No reports from other Huntsman guarding villages about the boy in question perhaps?"

Waiting for a response I soon got one from Glynda as she raises her glasses up as glanced at the hologram light screen from her Scroll, "No sir. The only real sign of his appearance of this person is when he came to the Vale Kingdom for the first time. And some sightings in Patch Village but otherwise that's it."

I see…

Interrupting my own thoughts as I take a sip from my cocoa drink Glynda questioned me about him attending to Beacon, "Sir while the boy shows an unordinary amount of talent and semblance potential isn't mad that he should be placed in the same group as the rest here in Beacon? It is well known for many talents from a variety of backgrounds joining?"

Turning my chair to see the Remnant moon high above I replied to Glynda of her concerns as I spoke out agreeing, "True. This year shows some promise for Humanity as well as potential recruits for us. Pyrrha Nikos the Unbeatable Champion of Mistral. Heiress of the Schnee Dust Company Weiss Schnee. Yang Xiao Long daughter of one of the best teams from our own Beacon Academy Raven Branwen. Ruby Rose the Silver-Eyed Warrior in the makings as well as the daughter of Summer Rose. Blake Belladonna an unannounced princess of Menagerie with Faunus influence for the future…"

Yes, those are just merely a handful of potential and very influential kids of a variety of backgrounds as well as political backing powers of students joining our little Beacon Academy would be ideal.

Glynda sighs at my antics at such promising groups before she told me about the little troublemaker mister Nights himself, "But if that's the case… why would you allow him to join? Compared to most, however, he would be like the black sheep in an Academy like Beacon unlike Jaune Arc with his background you would probably let him in but sadly though I draw the line with protection to citizens sir."

Ah of course Glynda.

With mister Nights handing over critical evidence of Jaune Arc entering with a false transcript as well as the Head Arc Family obtaining him, I doubt I stood the chance to try.

Was hoping that the Arc would be somehow useful as all Arcs have a tendency to become great warriors such a shame in this generation.

Perhaps the next one would be good.

Even if he had no prior training, I would let Jaune Arc join sadly fate won't let things like that occur but then again, I obtained a rarer gem in the roughs showing up.

Plus that said Gem already showed cases of having the Arc Hereditary Semblance <Aura Amp> ready as I have seen many times in past lives.

That and the ability to see the truth and I do mean literally the TRUE name of a person could be quite useful to have an informant on our side of things.

That and…

….

The semblances he said to me that he copied were little but I can pick up from video recordings from the Dust Till Dawn Dust store as I knew some immediately that caught my eye.

The <Aura Amp> I know is a hereditary semblance from previous Arc families is what caught my attention immediately. A man with a semblance to copy only family semblances easily but as well as fuse them well…

He would be at least a very useful person along with the Intelligence-based Semblance he proclaims to have copied that allows him to know my name.

A real truth seeker eh?

Plus, his ability could be useful if he were to properly train in a place that could be watched to see this seedling grow.

I have some expectations for him and durably some high ones at that.

But he still has to pass the Exam first.

I do wonder what exact party members would surround this man.

Smirking at this glancing at the fragmented moony sky it's reasons like these I do love being a Headmaster to clash such different members helping each other shine to the best of their abilities.

Like the time those four siblings in those stories once showed me…

~Jack POV~

Whew…

Made it just in time.

"Roar…!"

And that's one mean Booboo bear if I saw one and seeing that the <Aura Trapping> skill is working as attended as it's keeping the beast inside.

<Observe>.

[Urasi – LV.? Grimm]

Just like before huh?

I was weak… not anymore.

It might be strong physically and have a higher level than me but at the very least it took a beat from Yang seeing that Yang took her attention with the Grimm the fight looks to be done with.

"Grr…"

Or not.

*Thud*

*Thud*

That was when it began to change course coming towards me as I clicked my tongue annoyed with the damn Grimm.

Oh no, you don't damn monster.

DODGE!

*SWOOSH*

Evading the Grimm using my own strength boosted to narrowly avoid being mauled I glared at the damn thing as I focus my skill on the damn thing as I activated <Aura Combat> to pummel it multiple times to activate it up close.

<Aura Combat>.

*BAM*

[<Aura Combat> LEVEL UP!]

*BAM*

*BAM*

Move.

"ROAR…!"

The punches managed to harm the Grimm as it roared and staggered off course crashing into a tree I managed to back away from there as I avoided a bear claw to the chest but moved away.

"Grr…"

Oh, come the fuck on!

Getting back a bit seeing the Grimm Ursai is still standing up again as it glares at me hatefully keeping it distracted as I began to use <Aura Trapping> trapping it in place as I yell at Yang to end it, "Yang it's trapped go ahead and end it!"

"AIYAHHH!"

*BAM*

Finally, Yang activates her Semblance and jumps off against a tree to land a last punch against Ursai. The Ursa counters with its own claw.

The resulting clash blows several trees and Ruby back. The clash ends up snapping the Ursai's arm and both fighters get thrown in the direction they were facing, the Ursai disintegrating while it does so while Yang crashes against a tree.

Ruby runs over to her sister in worry as I sigh out a breath of relief, "Yang! Yang, are you okay? Oh, I didn't know how to help without my scythe! I'm so sorry!"

Yang coming off from the whole ordeal chills a bit as she replied to her sister and then to me, "It's okay. I've always got your back, sis. And thanks for the help there… Jack."

Smiling at them I nodded as I gave them your welcome to them in return.

[Quest Completed]

[100 Exp]

[1500 Lien]

[LEVEL UP!]

Nice a level up is very much appreciated thanks.

/////

After that, we had some small talk with each other as we head towards Tai's home Yang thanked me for the help, "Thanks for the help there Jack. I didn't know where that Grimm would come from."

Nodding in understanding with Ruby being silent at this but then began to respond to me in a thankful manner as she spoke, "Yeah that's what we were doing but… uh… what were you doing exactly Jack right?"

Nodding at her giving her the ok to the little rose I replied to her with a light shrug with what I was doing, "Tai told me to get you two for dinner. I happen by chance to hear your guys cry for help or more like Ruby's. Glad I did. No way I'm letting my friends get harmed."

"Friends huh…"

I managed to hear that as Ruby mumbles to herself about that as I got a completion from my semblance.

[<Fusion> LEVEL UP!]

[Ding!]

[-You have met the conditions-]

[-Which skill would you like to copy from Ruby Rose-

-Scythe Mastery Lv.1

-Sniper Master Lv.1

-Blacksmith Mastery Lv.1

-Petal Burst Lv.1

-Silver Eyes Lv.1

…]

Better take that <Petal Burst> skill since I need an offensive but fast type of power.

No way I'm taking the Silver Eyes as I don't want Salem to get me but perhaps, I can copy Ruby's skills again.

That was when a small light flickered around me as I saw a skill book materialled in front of me and then into my soul as I saw the notifications, but it seems like Yang and Ruby can't see it in action.

Good.

[Ding!]

[You have successfully copied the skill <Petal Burst>!]

When I was done checking I returned to the conversation at hand.

Ruby just nods her head with a smile as Yang thinks deeply to herself about the event.

I glance over to Yang's side as she spoke to me with a smirk on her face as she spoke out happily towards me, "Well since you helped me out and saved my little sis from getting mauled by Grimm, I think a little reward is needed right?"

Keeping my eyebrow raised at this with a bemused smirk on my face as I replied to her pointing out the facts, "While I don't mind getting a reward. I do mind if your father beats my ass for any funny ideas Yang. But if it's more sparing, and your weapon blueprints I don't mind."

Next came Ruby to reply to me with an innocent expression written on her face as she talked to me, "Still thanks for saving Yang though or helping out. It was… brave. I mean you risked your own life to help me out. Twice. A total stranger mind you even when you fought against a Grimm for the first time you didn't show any fear like most."

"What do you mean by the first time?"

At this Yang was the first to reply to me about it with a knowing look on her face in a knowing tone of her voice, "What my baby sis means that usually when citizens stare at Grimm they have that fearful look on their face, my dude. I mean we all go through it at least once when we stare down a Grimm. Have to hand it to you though for a civilian to Huntsman barely in training you definitely showed some balls standing your ground."

"Ugh… Yang…"

Hearing Ruby groan at this I took the time to check my stats to see was there any changes that I need to look at.

Status.

Those large numbers are always welcomed that's for sure.

With that I walked with the girls having a more bonding time with them as my days of getting to Beacon is coming closer to my end.

Better hope and be prepared.

Hmm…

Maybe it's about time I used my third reward of getting those items from the Daily Quest.

It will prove much more useful to me if something were to happen and I could grind fighting Grimm as well as practice my skills.

Levels maybe are important in gaining strength but strength without skill or experience is simply a waste of power and I won't waste my time as I will need to polish my skills to be ready for combat.

Thus, I must return to the Grind.
