~Jack POV~

"Ow…."

"Well, at least that helped right big boy?"

"My everything hurts you know…"

"Meh."

Standing on the ground of the plain field I was down on the ground feeling the bruises shown on my body as I tried to fight Yang in a spar which was very painful mind you with both of us having Aura active.

The difference is ridiculous in strength, but it's clearly shown there.

Even with my base and boost, I can give a good challenge but that's it.

Just a challenge.

That stung.

And getting my ass handed was certainly a good suggestion of how much work I need to catch up with the Main Characters as this is really ridiculous how much they trump me and this is only Volume 1 versions of them.

But not all was lost in this though as I did gain a few bonuses in the process.

Even though they aren't much right now given time they will become extremely powerful in time.

But it did raise my <Martial Arts Mastery>, <Unarmed Combat>, <Aura Combat>, <Aura Amp>, and <Physical Endurance>.

And even though I failed to get the achievement from Yang learning from this made me realize so much.

I grew as I fight and followed Yang's movements as I couldn't help but reply to her, "Yeah, I got my ass handed… but I did make you sweat a few times, did I?"

Yang blinks at this she snorted at the idea playing the idea I gave out a good fight against her as she spoke, "Tch. Perhaps with those buffs of yours. Certainly, surprised me with a few moves after my legs. Like what you see? You're a big lug but you are 1000 years too late to train against the mighty Yang!"

"Ugh… Yang…!"

Listening to Ruby groan I couldn't help but laugh at this but still better than this situation.

"Whew…"

Breathing out catching my breath I began to let my aura heal me up as I see Yang's face while I lay down on the ground as she spoke, "Man you look like you took a massive beating. I wonder who the beautiful culprit could've been?"

"Hahaha. Very funny Yang."

"Hehe."

Yang playfully shrugs it off as I feel sore throughout my entire body but at the very least I gained some level-ups with my <Physical Endurance> skill in the progress of grinding my body up.

Feeling sore throughout my body I began to sit up as I try to use my <Meditation> skill to hurry along the healing process but having a girl glance at me without breaking a sweat look at me is a bit distracting.

Hmm…

As I was meditating in peace, I have to wonder can I heal like those healing skills using my Aura on my body so I won't feel sore all over along with my body being bruised up like this.

Welp not like I have much going on but might as well try it out.

Seeing that I'm damaged I might as well try to heal myself using my Aura first things first the steps.

Using my <Expel Aura> into the air again changing into royal blue particles of light I began to command them to heal me faster using my <Aura Manipulation> but was met with some resistance of sorts…

It's as if testing out a new limb that I never knew I had before.

Yang was merely observing me as I try to mend or heal my body condition but it was harder than I thought…

Wait no that was <Aura Amp> doing its work.

This could take a while…

As I thought to myself, I saw Yang dragging Ruby going deeper into the forest as Ruby tries to get away Yang spoke to me, "Now then Jack I need to teach my Lil sis how to fight with her fisty cuffs. After all, I need to make sure she's also training!"

Ruby tried all her might to escape from Yang's grasp as she flails around pleading to escape from this 'training' with her sister, "No! Yang this is forced training! At least let me use my beautiful baby Crescent Rose at least I can give you – "

However seeing this from a mile away Yang didn't take any chances as she replied with a smirk on her face towards Ruby, "Nope. None of that Rubes you need the training whether you like it or not."

"Jack help me!"

Turning around I began to train my skills evading Ruby's pleas.

"JAAACCKK!!!!"

"TRAITOR!!!!"

Probably for the best.

Tch.

Trying to make a new skill is difficult as I thought.

Landing down on the ground taking the moment to rest my mind a bit as well as my body lying on the dirt ground glancing up in the sunny sky.

Scowling at the idea that appears to me I glanced at my hand and wonder how exactly I'm going to handle this world's issues.

"Jack dinner ready!"

"Can you ask Yang and Ruby to come over!"

Hearing the sounds of Tai from his home calling to me I stand up and began to go towards Ruby's home with a smile as I replied to him, "Sure thing Tai…! I'll be coming right away with Ruby and Yang! I'll be there shortly!"

Standing up I began to hurry along to find Ruby and Yang since I have a few days remaining before the plot begins.

Hopefully, things go smoothly in the future.

As I went deep inside the woods of the forest, I tried to look for Yang and Ruby before sunset happens.

I wonder how their training is going right now.

"Haha…"

I bet Ruby is definitely not like having a bad time with Yang as she's going hard on her with her fist.

Even I felt the pain from them as my skill can attest to that much.

Walking around the forest some more and avoiding any Grimm nearby I began to hurry along to see where they were at.

Like that, I went –

"Roar…!"

"Yang…!"

Or…

Or I could see whatever is happening in the far distance since I clearly heard Ruby's voice out in the open yelling at her sister for help.

That can't be good.

I don't know if my luck is either bad or plot convince.

Quest: Vol.5 Yang Character Shorts

Description: The Gamer has found himself being transported into World or Remnant/RWBY by Gaia's wishes. You have the power to change what the course goes on as you heard the sounds of the help of the shorts happening with interest to help those in need.

Objective: Help kill the Urasi Grimm with Yang and Ruby.

Rewards: 1500 Lien, and 100 Exp.

Failure: Dislike from the Rose Family and possible cripple to the main cast.

[Accept: Y] or [Deny: N]

Blinking in surprise at this I immediately accepted the mission given to me as I needed the Lien and level up thank you very much.

But still though one of the RWBY Shorts?

Wait if what it says on the quest name is really what it suggests is true then that means…

*Swoosh*

That means they are in trouble better hurry up and catch up to them!

Rushing ahead I can work out my issues later.

~Third POV~

Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long spar without the use of their weapons in the woods, the former falling to the ground as she groans in pain, "Ow."

Yang offers a hand up, which Ruby quickly takes as she talks to her, "Come on. You totally could've dodged that."

Ruby brings her hands to her cheeks while a little thought bubble of a chibi version of said scythe pops up next to her as she replied to her sister, "Yang! I've already told you, that I'm just not cut out for hand-to-hand. Why can't I just use my beautiful Crescent Rose?"

Yang shakes her head at this as she replied to Ruby the reason why she can't use her weapon in the spar, "That's exactly why I wouldn't let you bring it. I'm gonna be leaving for Beacon soon. We both will along with Jack. I wanna make sure my little sis can hold her own while I'm gone or not able to protect you."

Ruby rolls her eyes at this but accepted the truth as she spoke again, "Ugh. Fine Yang."

*Swoosh*

*Bam*

As Yang readies her stance, Ruby barely has time to block as the blonde lands the first punch with her left arm, forcing Ruby to block with her wrist, before taking a defensive stance and ducking under the second punch, and then sidestepping to Yang's right, away from the third.

Yang then turns around 180 degrees in order to finish her punch, forcing Ruby to awkwardly walk back with her arms outstretched to avoid it.

She then ducks underneath Yang's left leg, as the latter uses it to spring herself up to perform an airborne high kick with her right leg.

As the two ready their stances, Yang wastes no time as she immediately punches again, forcing Ruby to block it with her left forearm, and then with her right. Another sidestep is taken to avoid Yang's third right jab.

Ruby then retaliates, stretching her left palm open in order to deliver a right hook from behind - which then misses as Yang casually moves her head to dodge it.

*Thud*

A leg sweep with her left leg trips Ruby as she falls to the ground, at the mercy of Yang's right hook - until the redhead uses her Semblance and speeds away into the trees, dispersing into the rose petals that appear.

*Swoosh*

Yang smirks as she motions forward to the trees where she saw Ruby flee to help her sister's confidence, "Nice one, sis! You're not always going to be able to run away from your problems, though. Sometimes, you just have to stand your ground and fight, no matter what."

However, there was a pause as Yang expected her sister to reply.

Another pause happened as Yang was noticeably getting worried about her sister as she calls out to her, "Alright, enough rest! Get back out here. Ruby?"

Yang brings her hand to her forehead as she looks through the bushes, instead seeing a dark bear-like creature with red marks glowing, growling menacingly.

"Grr…"

"Ruby!"

The Ursa reveals itself from the bushes with a roar and starts to charge at Yang. Yang answers in kind and propels herself towards the Ursa with her gauntlets and a roll.

As Yang gets closer to the Ursa, it swipes her but Yang dodges to the side with help from her gauntlet and delivers two normal punches to the Ursa and the third one with a Dust round which manages to harm the Ursa.

*BAM*

*BOOM*

The Ursa takes a second swipe at Yang and sends her flying. Yang flips back onto her feet midflight and fires two shots from her gauntlets which only angers the Ursa.

The Ursa charges Yang, who cocks her gauntlets, and does an overhead swipe, however, Yang blocks the attack with her left arm and stands her ground.

*Thud*

*BAM*

She then uppercuts the Ursa and jumps around it and of it in order to land in front of it.

As she lands in front of it, Ursai tries to face her but Yang runs at it and slides underneath it in order to fire off a barrage of six shots into it from behind.

*Kaboom*

Ursai is unfazed, so Yang decides to rush in. She punches it twice in the head but the momentum of the second punch propels her to the left side of the Ursa with her back facing its way.

The Ursai swipes her from behind but Yang grabs its arm, twists, and punches the Ursa again.

Yang propels herself in front of Ursai's face and dodges a swipe, she propels herself underneath it to dodge another before launching herself into the air to kick Ursai's face and dodge another set of swipes.

Yang charges it again but the Ursa finally manages to land a blow on her that is strong enough to send her into several trees whilst tearing up the ground and uprooting any tree she hits directly.

Just as Ruby Rose wakes up, the Ursai notices her as she yells her name, "Yang!"

That was when the Urasi began to try to charge at her with her eyes stuck in fear raising up her guard.

It tries to attack her as Yang tries to tank the attack…

But…

*Shiii*

"Roar…!"

That was before a noticeable royal blue color aura was shown as the Grimm Ursai was literally caught in a place struggling to move this caught the two girls' attention right away as it began to look in their direction towards where the aura originated from to see a Jack as Yang sighs a breath of relief as he scratches his head nervously as he spoke to them, "Sorry but I heard a Ruby yelling thought I might help in. And it seems like I was right. Would you ladies like a helping hand?"
