Chapter 218: RWBY Prime—Hero from Another World (4)

~Third POV~

Elsewhere Ruby and Penny were talking about what happened to Vale as the citizens in Vale talked about the Fall of Beacon starting with the Vytal Festival retelling the events that have happened.

Penny and Ruby both heard all of the info they got from multiple people with them having a downcast expressions on their faces clearly understanding how their Remnant was different compared to the Prime one.

Along the way the two began returning back to the previous location as promised with Ruby mumbling what happened here, "Everything here just seems so… depressing. Much different than what we knew before right?"

Penny nodded her head in understanding expressing a sad look under her mask concerning what happened in Vale, "Yeah… everything they said was clearly different from what we knew. And I don't know but putting this out there… this kind of thing could've happened to us if things went differently."

Ruby stopped at that gazing at Penny with an unreadable expression forcing the android to hold her arms up in surrender explaining herself, "Wait I'm just merely pointing out the idea Ruby. I mean…"

Looking around seeing the people walking around with Huntsman and Huntresses Penny points out a difference getting Ruby's attention, "Have you not seen any member of the Future Foundation? Or the lack of mention of Jack's influence?"

Pausing at that Ruby took another notice to look around it was then she realized something as Penny pointed it out, "Wait… you mean to say that in this Remnant it's possible that Jack doesn't exist?"

At this Penny words out a response to Ruby with a shrug but a possibility for sure as she continues to speak, "Quite possibly so. But then again, I could be wrong but at the same time there are many things that were lacking… but the ruin of Beacon though?"

Ruby flinched at that recalling how the people are talking about how the people talked about the Fall of Beacon remembering the actions of what happened in that tragedy.

Some said that during the battle, Ironwood, Oobleck, and Port oversee the complete evacuation of Beacon Academy.

A peaceful conclusion has been decided when the four kingdoms agree that the White Fang was responsible as they take all credit, with no proof of Cinder's faction's involvement or existence.

The four kingdoms formed an alliance to declare war against the White Fang, which has set relations between Humans and Faunus back severely.

The war ended when Adam was ousted from the leadership of The White Fang after his plot to destroy Haven Academy was foiled by Blake and the Faunus from Menagerie when they arrived to defend the school and heard of Adam's association with Cinder's faction and their exposure has led the four kingdoms and the new White Fang leadership build by the Belladonnas to not only to rebuild relations between Humans and Faunus but to also pool their resources to hunt down Adam, Cinder, and her associates and bring them to justice.

At least according to the recent words of traveling Faunus around Vale that came from Mistral as Ruby mumbles to herself, "Still… despite everything that happened… Salem is the one that caused this. All of this unfairness and destruction. It's unfair…"

Stomping her foot down at this Ruby frowned deeply in her thoughts about Salem the more she tightens her fist, 'Salem… she's really hellbent on bringing everyone down with her. If—if she won back then… would things have turned out the same here back in our own home? It's just everything here…'

Ruby shook her head removing negative thoughts into the back corners of her mind with Penny noticing her distress about the matter.

Penny places her hand over Ruby's shoulder speaking out with a smile on her face, "In that case how about we try doing some hero work while on Vacation right Ruby?"

Hearing the optimism in Penny's voice Ruby couldn't help but smile at that thinking to herself about a certain someone that could change the whole thing around, 'Right…! With Jack, we can actually do something to help reconnect to the world of Remnant. With his expertise in machines and his power… he can make a difference and turn this whole situation around!'

Smiling at the idea of helping others like those in fairy tales before thinking of the situation they were in reminds her of heroes coming from other worlds to help other heroes in their times of need.

Smirking at this returning towards their previous promise spot talking to Penny, "Right. So long as everyone is alive then the chance of turning things around will come."

Penny smiles under her mask as she agrees to follow to return where Jack and Pyrrha just as promised.

/////

Returning to the Vale Public Library Glynda views everything differently of events of Jack's RWBY compared to her own thanks to Jack's <Soul Archive> as she chuckles dryly at the differences shown.

Calming her nerves down retaining her emotions beginning to speak out, "Hahaha… oh life. This must be one kind of sick joke."

Jack and Pyrrha waited for Glynda to collect her thoughts again before finally responding taking a deep breath of air and responding out, "Sigh… to think what you kids experienced was something outrageous but stood up against such odds. In all honestly, I can't help but be proud of the kinds of defenders you would become…"

Her eyes gaze at a photo stand of a familiar band of students as she places her hand on the glass front speaking out fondly, "To have such bonds and trust between you all. And against former allies as enemies, you two along with the rest have grown much faster…"

Closing her eyes thinking of the what if and no Jack of their world to provide the biggest change thinking to herself bitterly, 'To think in their Remnant this young man is an official hero in his world along with his fellow friends. A literal hero of his generation along with the others… I wonder if we had someone like him here would the results of the Fall of Beacon play out differently or not? Truly life really isn't fair… oh the bitter irony of it all.'

Reopening her eyes once more staring at the ceiling of the Vale Public Library with a new option to her, 'And to make matters perhaps… hopeful this young man could perhaps help us reclaim Beacon Academy again. To bring it back to its former glory but to bring children –'

Yet Jack began to voice out as if listening to her own thoughts with a grin and determined look in his eyes to Glynda's filled with shock, "Even if you tried to stop us from helping no way I'm waiting or running to take back our school. Even if it's not our own it's still our Beacon Academy it holds many precious memories worth fighting for. The bonds I made that will last a lifetime a place I would come back to fight to the bitter end to reclaim. After all, Beacon is meant to be a safety for all I merely want to return the favor to the school for giving us safety in our time of need."

Glynda and Pyrrha were shocked hearing such words but not before long Pyrrha spoke out with a smile on her face of her partner's fondness of Beacon Academy, "Haha. I suppose that's something you would do Jack. No matter where or when you'll definitely try and change the world for the better."

Jack for his part turned around scratching the back of his head and responding to her, "Uh… I was just trying to help everything back to normal again. I mean with how everyone is in the dark the only real way is to one build a CCT –"

Glynda responded to Jack's question as she replied that being impossible in Vale, "Which is impossible. With Atlas Kingdom closing their borders and a Dust embargo we aren't expecting any help or materials needed to rebuild a new CCT."

Nodding at that Jack merely grinned happily showing her <Technopathy> as his aura flared to life responding to Glynda, "—Right. Since option one is out the second one is having, I repair any remaining parts left in the CCT with my <Technopathy> Semblance to rebuild the CCT as good as new again. Working with machinery and building my own CCT to the Faunus this is going to be a walk in the park."

Glynda took time to process what she just heard as if something like a miracle happening before her as she knows, currently how strong Jack was viewing him cut down or punch down any Grimm instantly to death.

Adding the fact, a prodigy like him helping people is something unnerving her but at the same time her heartbeat faster as if a single spark light up in her soul…

A spark of hope…

A spark of change…

A spark of an actual better tomorrow…

Glynda for her part rubs her eyes at Jack talking to Pyrrha seeing a split image of Ozpin providing the means of giving hope to others providing help in need with such optimism not letting the despair of discomfort of the world stop them in their tracks.

Glynda mind flashes of a certain group of girls always causing trouble trying to help people catching or fighting criminals way above their combat skills but always determined to get the job done doing things what they fought for is right.

Glynda could only shake her head as she thinks to herself of the new generation taking the old one's place, 'It really will be up to the new generation to pick up where we left off. If only we did a better job on that though…'

Glynda shakes her head pushing back the image of Team RWBY Prime seeing how the other dimension Remnants haven't lost hope of a better tomorrow looking at Jack thinking to herself, 'This boy… he certainly has a way of inspiring hope in others. To always stand up and not back down. He really is an infectious lad bringing good moods and hopes despite learning of our current situation. I wonder if he was around would things have gone differently…'

Glynda merely pushes those thoughts aside deciding to make her own decision…

One that she hopes to not regret.
