Chapter 13

The next morning, Evelyn woke up from the sound of birds chirping outside the room. She slowly blinked her eyes open and looked at the white bedsheet next to her.

But her bedsheet was blue. . .

Memories from last night flooded back and the next second, the presidential suite was filled with an ear-piercing scream.

"AHH!!!" Evelyn sat up straight on her bed and looked straight ahead. Did she just fall into someone's trap? What happened last night?

Evelyn scrunched her face up and looked as if she was about to cry.

"You're awake," a deep voice sounded from her left. Evelyn eyes widened and she didn't dare look to see who it was. She knew it was going to be some old, fat man that would make her want to throw up.

However, she still couldn't stop her curiosity as she slowly turned her head around to see the man sitting on the couch.

When Evelyn eyes registered the handsome face, her mouth fell open.

"What. . . what are you doing here?" Evelyn asked as she looked down to realize that she still had clothes on.

Leonor was direct as he stated, "I saved you."

Evelyn raised one eyebrow.

"Who are you?" Evelyn quickly glanced up into his face and frowned. Why did he look so familiar? Where did she see him before?

"I am... Leonor Evans."

Evelyn tried to remember the name it felt like she had heard the name before. 'Leonor?' she chanted in her mind.

"Leo? Oh my god." Her eyes widen as she remember him now. She take a closer look at his face. 'No doubt, he looks similar.' she thought.

"The fashion designer... Leonor Evans?"

"Yes. I'm glad you know me." He showed her his best smile. Happy that she knew him already.

"Obviously I know-" she stopped why was she exaggerating it now.

Why not because she was sitting in front of the most handsome man and her crush since he start his career in fashion designing.

She was his big fan from the day one and now she was sitting in front of her crush. Everything was unbelievable for her at the moment.

Evelyn scratched her head and looked around her surroundings. Why was this hotel room so big? She shook her head and reminded herself that this wasn't the point right now.

"Um. . . thank you. If there is nothing else, I will get going." Evelyn jumped out of the bed, grabbed her bag, and turned to walk away.

To be truthful, she was a little scared of CEO Leo. The Evans family basically controlled the entire economy, and they owned a business empire.

Right now, Leo was at the very top of the empire. He brought the brand to an extent higher than ever before and was known as a Prince in New York right now.

To reach this position, he was definitely not a simple person. Leonor was evil and cunning, and definitely not something Eve should mess with.

After all, she was super innocent, right?

Just as Evelyn hand touched the door handle, she heard Leonor say in a dangerous tone, "Come back."

He looked at her intentively but she really look like a lost puppy. She couldn't put her mind to it, but something in her felt that whatever the reason was it will not be good.

He somehow, felt bad for her. He was thinking that would be her reaction when she get to know what happened with her. .

Almost as if her body was being controlled, Evelyn immediately shot back into the bedroom and obediently sat down on the bed.

'He is so scary!' Evelyn complained in her head, wondering how she even managed to get herself involved with such a big shot.

Leonor wasn't pleased by Evelyn's expression. Was he really that scary?

"I saved you," Leonor repeated.

Evelyn nodded her head, signaling that she understood.

"What are you going to do in return?"

"What?" Evelyn blurted out, not expecting the almighty king, Leonor Evans, to ask something in return from her.

Leonor raised one eyebrow, making him appear even scarier, but at the same time also more attractive.

"Well. . . you have more money than you will ever need and there is nothing that I can give you that you won't be able to get by yourself. So, what do you want?"

"We will talk about it later. Right now... Don't you want to know why are you here in this room with me?" He asked almost enjoying the look on Evelyn's face as her face turned red with ashamed but she couldn't speck and just nodded slowly.

"Your boyfriend has sell you." He saw her stiffening in her seat. He know it hurt her but he couldn't do anything. He was angry at his friend too. "I am his friend it was a bet and don't worry. I didn't sleep in this room. I booked another room for me."

Evelyn opened her mouth to speak but couldn't form the right words.

"He... Did not do something like this. Tell me."

"He did and I'm sorry to say that but he was never loyal to you."

"Stop!" She emphasised the words and showed her hand to stop him. It was already too much for her to digest the fact that she was in a hotel room.

Her mind was dizzy with what he said. How can it be possible? She asked herself. Was it, she was a fool or he was making her? She didn't know what to say or what to do. Was she started doubting her boyfriend now?

Evelyn walked towards the balcony but didn't stepped out. She stand there looking out from there. Her mind wasn't able to process what he told her.

"So, you are saying that Xaiver not just cheated but sell me... To... You?" She raised her brows in question, a tear slipped from her eyes. He said nothing but she could see pity in his eyes for her as he looked down on the floor. She didn't noticed the clenched hand on his lap.

"Unbelievable! Unbelievable!! I need proof. Give me proof because I can't believe you." Evelyn was in denial and wanted to see herself if it was true. But what if it was true would she ever able to forgive herself?

"He should be staying in this hotel like others. Come with me." He stood up. Evelyn wasn't expecting him to really take her to him. She was just hoping for a little piece of evidence that will prove his statement. But it seemed like he have a big evidence ready for her as if waiting for her to ask.

Evelyn wiped her face with her bare fingers. She followed him, but suddenly he stopped and before she hit his back she halted too. Evelyn didn't understand what happened and why he stopped abruptly there. His eyes were on her small figure standing behind him.

He sighed and hold a cap from the stand and wore her. He was standing very to her, his fingers brushed against her skin as he patted her head before he took a few steps back. She frowned yet in confusion, he hope she would have understand by now, but here she is.

"Seems like your brain isn't working right now. I wore you a cap because your hair were looking like a nest." He smiled, before he walked out.

Evelyn stood there, processing what happened and what he just said and upon realizing she sighed and walked out, behind him.

He was waiting at the end of the corridor. Upon hearing her footsteps he looked up from his mobile and said, "are you ready?" Evelyn's heart beat louder but she said nothing and just nodded. He didn't smile this time instead his hand was about to hold her but he controlled and let her hate her for now.

"This way." And they walked towards the direction.

Evelyn walked down the dimly-lit corridor accompanied by a man. As they walked through an unknown room, they both stopped abruptly. Confused, Evelyn looked at the man's back to understand why he had stopped. She then heard some voices coming from inside the room. It was a man, and he was speaking to someone.

"You don't have to worry about Evelyn. I don't want to meet Evelyn anymore." Xiaver said. Evelyn frowned and went more close to the door. While Leonor stay behind, he could still hear him perfectly from where he was standing. It was Evelyn who couldn't believe what she was hearing which made her moved in denial.

The girl asked, "Why are you saying this now? when I was saying this you, you wasn't listening to me." Evelyn wanted to know too. She hoped he would say something against what she was thinking.

But what she hear next was as her fears came true, "I sell her in a game. I want her anymore. I think you're more prettier than her, babe."
