The Weapon System

He felt a throbbing headache and then, he lost consciousness.

It lasted for quite a long time and the other people in the house seemed quite worried. After all, no sleep lasts for four days. To Jason however, it just felt like five minutes, but in those five minutes, Jason received a shock so big, that he couldn't even move for half an hour, trying to comprehend his situation.

He felt like he had lived an another life in those five minutes. From birth to growing up and the love of his parents. Various defining moments that left quite an impression on him throughout his life and even the many silly, embarrassing things. It all felt like it was him who had live this life, but instinctively he knew that it was not him. It was a person named William Quinn.

Along with all of that, he gained knowledge of this world. Magic actually existed in this world. There was no question about it as the memories he had just received proved it all. If it was his previous life, then he would try to find tricks in it and would never believe it all true, but these memories were like he had experienced these things himself.

Jason realized that he was not in his own body. This person, whose body he currently possessed was named William Quinn and William was a true believer of the church, an organisation which persecuted the witches, the women who can use magic. Once William had seen a pure witch and even a group of god punishment warriors massacring the knights of a local lord, who was accused of collaborating with the devils.

Although William just ignored it, probably because of his strong believe, but Jason could easily see that the only crime that the local lord had committed was to kindly ask the church to move the location of a local church they were building to a different location as he didn't want the church to intrude in the market in his domain by building a church in the middle of a very famous business district.

Speaking of magic, Jason noticed that only some women could use magic and people everywhere called them the devil's minions. In other words, although magic existed here, but people were also superstitious.

Normally, Jason would question about only women being able to use magic as he had seen those god punishment warriors fighting with superhuman strength, but with everything he had just put together, along with the memories of his family and the kingdom of dawn, Jason had realized something.

He was in the 'release that witch' world. It was a novel Jason used to read in his previous life. With all the missions he had to do, all that running around and not many breaks, as it was always an emergency, web novel was a good escape from stress. Some might find his choice a bit weird, but he didn't live for others. He lived for himself and for his country. At least that's what he would tell others, if asked.

Of all the many fictional worlds, this wasn't a good world to be in as it would be very difficult to survive. Not to mention, William had some dealings with church and Jason couldn't risk them knowing that he wasn't William.

As all these thoughts were going through his mind, Jason heard a voice in his mind.

--- System Initializing. ---

"Who...! Who's there.!?" Jason panicked, but no reply came.

--- This is the weapon System which only exists inside the host's mind and can not be heard from the outside. System advises host to speak in his mind if host wants to communicate. ---

"I don't understand what is going on.! Please explain to me who you are and how the hell did you get inside my brain.!? Is it some kind of a magic communication.? Are you a witch.?" Jason calmed down a bit and asked. He thought that the voice belonged to a witch, who was trying to communicate with him through telepathy.

William was a believer of church and it made sense that the witches would want information on their enemies. Either that or they wanted to kill him, which was still better as he at least knew the situation now.

As he was talking to the system , he was planning an escape route. Not much to plan on as there was only one window and a door in the room, but he was thinking of how he could delay the witch from approaching him, either from the window or the door, as he would run away. He knew he didn't have a chance of winning in the face of magic power.

--- System advises host to calm down as system means no harm. System was a HUD inside the host's helmet and was transported to this world along with the host. During the transfer, system and host were hit by a very strong magical reaction and fused together. System gained sentience and various scanning functions as well as library, storage, replica and summoning functions. System named itself the weapon system because through magic, it has gained the power to summon any information, either directly or indirectly related to weapons from the modern world. ---

Jason took five minutes to process the information and then, asked various questions to system, to check the validity of what he was just told, mostly related to knowledge from the previous world as well as asked the system to solve a few advanced mathematical problems.

After all, even if it was a witch that could read his mind, there was no way she could know calculus. He also asked system to tell him how it got the answer as there were many ways to solve an integration problem and when the system's method was found different from Jason's, he knew that system was indeed telling the truth, besides how incredible it sounded.

"So... weapon system huh. If you can give me the blueprints of modern weapons, then it would indeed be a big help in this world. But, why name yourself weapon system, if you can only summon knowledge. I think, library system or knowledge system would be much more appropriate."

--- System's main function is to summon knowledge related to weapons, but there are other functions, such as the following.

Inventory. Where host has a magical space, where he can store things. This space is ten cubic meters.

Scanning. System has sonar, x-ray, infrared, thermal, laser scanning and even the nuclear scanning, which can be directly connected to your optical nerve.

Library. Given enough energy points, host can summon any knowledge either directly or indirectly connected to weapons.

Replica. Given enough energy points, host can replicate actual weapons which host has used or even touched in his previous life, with absolute precision. These weapons can not be used by anyone else if host doesn't give his consent and host can summon them to his location, from anywhere in the world. ---

When Jason heard that, he was very exited. If he could summon actual weapons, then everything would be a lot easier.

"Why only the weapons I had touched before.? It doesn't make any sense."

--- That is because host had quite a bit soul force in his previous life and it subconsciously scanned anything host touched. Currently, host is able to keep the system in his mind because of this. After the fusion with the system, host's extra soul force was consumed and now it is average. As whatever the soul force scans is stored inside the soul and since system is fused with host's soul, system is able to produce these weapons from magic power. ---

"Well, it sounds a bit bizarre, but what is soul force.? And what are these energy points that I need to summon weapons.?"

--- Soul force is the fundamental energy inside any being with soul and no matter which world, this is the absolute law of nature.

An energy point is unit of magical energy, if we measure it in numbers. There are various ways to gain energy points. The most direct one, would be to touch something which contains magical energy and authorize the system to absorb it. ---

"I see.... Isn't there an easier way to gain energy points.? I mean, where the hell am I going to find magical things.! Not to mention it would alert the church."

--- Host can authorize the system to store magical energy inside host's body and continuously absorb it. When host was hit by the highly concentrated magical energy during the fusion and suddenly transferred to this new body, system had to guide some of that energy through host body in a specific manner, to change the host's body's structure, so that the body would be able to hold magical energy. Host would die otherwise. ---

When Jason heard that, he became very excited.

"So you are saying that I have magical energy inside me right now.? Can I use magic.?"

--- Negative. It takes a lot more than body's adaptability to be actually able to hold magical energy, not to mention use magic. ---

"I see.. Well.. since if I am not going to be able to use it anyway, I authorize it."

Jason was not William. He had full confidence in fooling the church and hiding system's magical power as he had knowledge about it from release that witch, not to mention he would have new weapons soon.

--- Confirmed. Host will feel a little discomfort. Other than that, host will not able to feel any magic power, as it would be consumed by the system as soon as it gets inside host's body. This process will be irreversible. ---

"Alright. Do it."

Jason didn't regret his decision even after hearing the irreversible part as modern weapons would be much better than magic power, which he knew nothing about. Not to mention that this was a world of magic. Anything is possible.
