Chapter 10
“I believe you’ve said everything already.” I entered the code to get in, and when I tried to shut the door on him, he pushed back, though I held it steady.
“Come on, Ben. Really, it won’t take long.”
I glared at him, unwillingly taking in the way his hair waved over his shoulders and the glimmer of truth in his eyes.
“Fine. Five minutes.” I allowed him to enter. No one else was around right now. I went to my locker and took out the book I’d brought to read. I was now working my way through The Time Traveler’s Wife.
“You like to read, don’t you?” Monty offered, sitting at the table where I’d pulled out a chair.
“Always have. Four minutes.”
