CHAPTER 11

*HISSSSS*

The basilisk hissed in extreme rage as it's slitted pupils focused on the human that has been harassing it for the past three years.

Due to Gideon always coming to pick a fight, the massive snake had become very hateful.

Gideon smirked as the basilisk's large body tensed up as it prepared to fight.

A dense green mist surrounded Gideon's body as he activated Poison Flight and flew into the massive cavern towards the creature's head at insane speeds.

As he got close however, thousands of earth spikes came out of the walls, ceiling and floor of the huge cavern and flew towards Gideon giving him no chance to dodge.

He snorted coldly and his daggers became blurs as all of the earth spikes were quickly destroyed.

Gideon and the basilisk stared at each other as their auras surged from their bodied and all the creature's in a mile radius cowered in fear.

Then, Gideon's body blurred as he appeared in front of the basilisk's huge head and slashed down both of his daggers that were covered in dense green light.

The basilisk didn't stand on ceremony and used it's thick spiked tail to counter his strike resulting in a massive clash that sent shockwaves throughout the cavern.

Gideon lost the clash however as he didn't have the same raw strength as the monster, so he was sent flying backwards into the cavern wall.

He was still very calm however as he used Poison Break and thousands of poison blades cut through the air and flew towards the basilisk.

The basilisk hissed and more earth spikes countered the poison blades resulting in numerous small explosions.

Gideon ran across the cavern wall leaving green afterimages and jumped towards the basilisk which caused rocks to fly about.

The basilisk opened it's mouth and a brown orb containing terrifying energy condensed inside and fired towards Gideon, this was a breath attack.

Gideon narrowed his eyes as he felt the energy fluctuations that the beam carried could kill him, and so he used Poison Flight to move out of its path. It was so close that he could feel the heat was over him causing him to squirm.

The beam carried immense heat and melted clean through the earth and out of the cave, continuing for a dozen kilometers before dissipating.

Gideon snorted and rushed towards the basilisk and appeared in front of it in an instant.

At point blank, he used Poison Break sending uncountable poison blades. Surprisingly though, despite the large size of the monster, it twisted it's body nimbly and dodged most of the poison blades.Gideon didn't stop there however as a green mist began to permeate throughout the cave.

The movements of the basilisk began to slow considerably under the influence of the poison mist allowing Gideon to strike.

He raised his daggers and used poison break once again. But instead of countless poison slashes appearing, two dozens of meter large crescent poison blades shot out towards the basilisk with a sharp whistling sound.

The basilisk became enraged seeing that it was actually entering a disadvantageous position against this tiny human.

An earthen glow covered its tail as it lashed out towards the two large poison slashes. A collision was made followed by a massive explosion that caused the whole cave to shake as stalactites fell from the ceiling.

Gideon still didn't let up his attacks as he became a green streak of light that tore through the air appearing behind the oversized snake.

Poisonous green flames engulfed the figure of the basilisk as Gideon lashed out with poison inferno, the temperature of the flames evaporating the moisture in the air while also corroding anything it touched.

The basilisk swiftly retreated out of the baleful flames, a faint brown barrier covering it's body, though it looked like it would shatter at any moment.

Gideon was about to attack again when a giant snake head made of stone emerged from the ground with its mouth wide open and ready to devour him.

With a swift slash from hades, the snake was sliced in half. However, the basilisk wasn't finished as dozens of the serpents materialized and swarmed Gideon.

Gideon didn't panic seeing this though. His hands turned into blurs as within a few seconds, as the serpents were in pieces.

But just as he finished this, his body was engulfed in a brown sphere which exploded on impact creating another massive explosion.

Seeing that its attack succeeded, the basilisk calmed down as its massive head stared at the residual energy from the blast with mockery.

This didn't last long though as it felt immense danger from behind and it instinctively moved its head to the side.

A green light passed by its neck and a large gash appeared followed by a fountain of black blood that stained the floor.

The basilisk whipped its head around and saw Gideon who had a smirk on his face as he didn't move to attack further.

In a rage, the basilisk sprang forward with its mouth open wide ready to swallow Gideon whole. But just as it was about to reach him, its entire body froze and fell to the ground with a large boom.

Gideon floated down gracefully and landed on its big head while releasing a breath.

"Sorry big guy, you were exposed to my paralytic poison for too long." Gideon said care freely and silently marveled at the effectiveness of paralytic poison.

"Well, say hi to the other monsters in the underworld. Sayonara." Gideon then gave a large poison slash and beheaded the basilisk, its head rolled for a few moments before coming to a stop.

Gideon nodded and put all his stat points into agility before deciding to leave the cavern, but just as he was about to, the system suddenly spoke.

[Host can fuse the basilisk teeth with his weapons so that they will receive another enhancement, there is also a basilisk egg near the back of the cavern.]

Gideon's interest was piqued hearing this information as he turned to the large head of the basilisk.

He approached it and opened it's large mouth and saw two very sturdy looking teeth that had a black liquid dripping from them.

Without hesitation, He ripped the teeth out of the monster and the system spoke again.

[Would Host like to fuse basilisk teeth with his weapons?]

Gideon nodded.

[Initializing... complete.] The two large teeth turned into a light which flew into his daggers.

The two blades became slightly curved and had a sort of rough texture to them, though that didn't mean that it's sharpness had decreased but had instead became quite scary.

This two blades' cheers rang in his mind and he just smiled slightly before looking at the very back of the cavern.

He approached it and noticed an area that had all sorts of moss and vines covering it. Gently prying away the vegetation, a large egg came into view.

It's texture was no different from a rock yet it was incredibly sturdy. Gideon picked it up and the system spoke once more.

[Host has acquired a basilisk egg, would he like to form a contract with it?] Hearing this, Gideon didn't hesitate and said yes.

Immediately, a green light flew from Gideon's head towards the egg and entered it. Immediately after, he began to fell a strong level of intimacy towards the egg which began to shake suddenly.

The hard surface of the egg cracked and a small brown snake with a myriad of green symbols on it's body came out of the egg.

It slithered up his arm before reaching his neck and nuzzling it. Gideon smiled faintly before saying.

"Your name is Lisk."
