CHAPTER 39: What is your deepest desire?

"I can't grant that desire, you wish for something that you already have."

My face crumbled at the realisation, it's just that Aeverie acts differently from the one that took care of me. She's like a whole new person now.

"Okay then, I want you too to grant me the ability to grow stronger at a fast rate."

"That's not what you desire, but don't worry I have given her something that she lost."

After hearing those words my surroundings became apparent, along with the symbols which stopped gleaming. When I turned my gaze to Aeverie I found her on the floor.

I hastily lifted her head to rest on my lap, her face cringed in pain as her breaths became heavy. She clutched her head with both hands as she winced more, I held her tighter as I knew there was nothing I could do.

The walls started fading into thin air, soon the rest of the room vanished into small fragments and we were returned outside.

"What Happened?" Layla stumbled towards us.

"Don't worry she will be fine."

Layla tried to use her healing magic on her but the pain didn't lessen.

After a couple of minutes she slowly blinked. I smiled in relief as I saw her not in pain anymore, tears flooded in her eyes as she embraced me tightly.

"Why are you crying?" I whisperd in her ear.

"I'm just so happy, I can't believe all those beautiful memories we shared were forgotten like that."

My heart was fuelled with so much joy that my heart ceased.

I gently pulled away and stared at her face. "Alice! I can't believe it's you."

She nodded repeatedly as tears dripped from her cheeks. " I'm so glad I have my memories back, and it's all thanks to you."

We embraced each other for quite a while.

"It's so dirty." Layla spoke in disgust as she ran her fingers on the dusty old table, the only furniture in this house as everything was wrecked to pieces. After cleaning the house and throwing a lot of unwanted stuff outside we unpacked everything.

Fodel went out to survey the place and I joined him. There was nothing Intresting we found on our journey, except for the wide area were my training will take place, as Fodel stayed to meditate I strolled back to the house only to encounter one weird conversation.

"I still can't believe I helped you to sleep with Kean." Alice impassively murmured.

Layla's cheeks turned crimson.

"We haven't had the time to do that, but soon we will."

When Layla spoke Aeverie's gaze had a hint of darkness that gave Layla goosebumps.

"Do you know why I never wanted you to be near Kean years back."

Layla tapped her cheek. "Let me guess, you hated me and you still do."

"No! I always knew that Kean and I weren't related in any way, I was just his bodyguard, somehow I found out that something was missing in my memories, back then when Kean was in his early stages I found out that I wasn't normal, My memories as Alice weren't altered correctly.

Although I knew of this, I still loved him as my family and did my duty as his protector, When he was in he's teen years that love became something that I couldn't understand myself, it was later on that I knew I had feelings for Kean. "

Now Layla understood why she acted the way she did.

"She confessed to me and he's now my boyfriend so you can forget it." Layla Smirked.

"You can stop eavesdropping." Aeverie uttered.

I opened the door. "I was waiting outside for you to finish your girls talk."

"Now you know my secret right."

Somehow I had a feeling that this wasn't going to end well since Aeverie possessed Alice's memories.

I faked a yawn. "You know I'm tired so I I'm going to rest."

She closed the door with her telekinesis." You will sleep outside?"

I scratched my head willl biting my lower lip until another silly lie came up. "Yes it's part of my training."

Aeverie dragged me to sit on the bed knowing that I wanted to escape the rather awkward situation I was in, which soon will evolve into war.

"Kean. I had feelings for you long back and I wanted to tell you in the right time but someone seems to have beaten me to it. Aeverie or Alice I still love you with all my heart. Do you love me too?"

I gulped as I stole a glance at Layla who stared with anticipation, in truth I do love her, I mean who wouldn't fall head over heals for this beauty, besides that she is warm hearted, I honestly don't know how to describe the feeling I have when I look at her.

"You are very special in my heart, of course I love you."

"I just wanted to hear you say it." Aeverie beamed into a smile while tagging my arm.

Layla felt her heart crumbling but she knew this was was going to be his answer. She walked towards the duo and sat on Kean's lap while she wrapped her arms on his neck.

"Did you think I was going to ran away crying, he's mine not yours!" Layla barked.

Aeverie maintained her stoicism but her eyes reeked of killing intent.

"I will ask you once to get your hands off from him then move your butt to sit somewhere else."

Layla shuddered in fear while staring at her piercing gaze but the love her heart had for Kean made her something not to be messed with.

"Humph! I would rather die."

"Okay okay can we solve this in another way."

"Fine then chose between me and her."

I didn't even ponder on it. "Fine what would you do if I choose Aeverie."

She stared at the ceiling deep in thought. "I know you would never leave me and I will always be by your side."

"Okay Aeverie, If I choose Layla."

She snuggled in my chest and closed her eyes.

"The way your passionate gaze linger on me and how your heart rises everytime I touch you, I know you love me like I do and I don't think anything can separate us."

I smirked. "Problem solved."

Aeverie locked eyes with Layla before turning to me.

"I guess I asked for the impossible, I don't want to share you with anyone else but Layla is special to you and I know she genuinely cares for you, so I wouldn't mind."

Layla's lips curved into a smile as she nodded. Both girls remained in my embrace, I was the happiest man alive to be this lucky.

Hy guys, I don't know what's going on but they is this error that occurres when I'm trying to update the next chapter. I'm unable to. In the next chapter I made a mistake in the stats.
