CHAPTER 27: Meeting The Legendary Swordman

Aeverie was lying on the ground as I checked her temperature whilst Layla was wearing a worried expression.

Clones on movies looked exactly like the original person but Aeverie was an extra ordinary version of Alice. My eyes cruised over her amazonian figure which was very alluring, her succulent pink lips and the dainty nose made her look adorable.

Touching her glossy skin made me wonder if it was due to her elven race that she was this gorgeous.

I really hope she's caring like Alice was, earlier when I spoke to Aeverie her blue eyes showed a hint of an icy personality. I'm guessing the memories Alice shared with me Aeverie doesn't have them.

Meanwhile when I was lost in my thoughts, Aeverie's velvety eyelashes twitched , she gently opened her eyes.

Wincing she tried to sit.

"How long have I been out for?" She inquired with a poker face.

I gave her a half smile. "A couple of hours I guess."

She abruptly tried to stand before growling in pain as she almost fell, but thanks to my high agility I caught her on time.

"Damn side effects. I'm sorry it seems I will be enable to walk." She winced in my arms breathlessly.

Her eyes widened in shock as I scooped her in my arms. She sighed hopelessly, the current state she was in couldn't allow her to do anything.

She snapped her fingers and a door which led outside appeared.

Layla shrieked at the blazing cold wind that kept whooping. My dragon abilities came in handy, the moon was covered by clouds but thanks to my high perception I could see in the dark. Layla brushed against me her body quivering, I wished that I could try warming her up but my hands where tight.

"It feels nice to be back here, where Fordel stays isn't far from here, just across the thick bushes you will see a house there."

I easily paced inside the thick bushes, the place seemed like it was haunted but not actually enough to scare this lad.

Long thick walls came into view, before we even knocked on the gate a man appeared infront of us.

My senses screamed danger, I felt overwhelmed by the sudden presence, his aura was out of the norm.

Layla instantly grabbed my arm tight, I felt her heart lurching.

"So it is you." A gruffy voice spoke.

"Altered, it's been long." Aeverie answered in an elegant lady like voice.

"It has, and I see that you haven't aged one bit, wait! you still look exactly like the day you left." He exclaimed.

"Hello Mr Altered."

He chuckled. "Just call me Fodel it's fine, I see you have grown into a fine gentleman."

I nodded and gave him an uneasy smile.

"Hello Mr Fodel." Layla spoke in a quiet voice.

She's has always been shy to strangers.

"Oh hello there, Who's the beautiful young lady."

"I'm Layla, Kean's friend." She answered rather even more quieter.

"I'm very pleased to meet you all, don't be shy, get in." He opened the gate.

"Huh! you have reconstructed the house." Aeverie blurted in amusement.

Fodel responded while chuckling slightly. "A few changes to my little house."

I don't even think calling it a house was the right word, It was a mansion. A mini mansion to be exact, as I walked my gaze wonderd everywhere, the courtyard was rather huge and surrounded by lamps.

"Please feel at home."

When we entered inside we where greeted by a Chinese style interior, the commodious sitting room existed of old design couches which where in good condition, the couches faced the fireplace. Every design in the house was traditional in some sort of way, in the dining hall was a long fancy table crowded with countless chairs underneath. On each wall was a long wooden board wich consisted innumerous books.

"How did you get Everything here??" She questioned, her expression neutral as ever.

"Don't worry about that child." He smiled.

"Now that you are here I will make you something to eat."

Aeverie sighed. "I actually need to lie down a bit."

"Oh, before I forget, if you head straight you will notice three guest rooms on the left, and they come with bathrooms so you don't have to worry, unless you want to relax on the hot tub which is- it's in-ehh- I think it should be somewhere in the house, or outside, I never really had time to use it so I forgot."

Shacking my head I sighed. Seriously, that was some directions he gave us there.

My eyes flayed with him as he lumbered towards to the kitchen with his arms behind his back.

He was short and had a body toned with muscles, I could sense that the old man endured a lot of training to reach that stage. His piercing sharp gray eyes made him quite overwhelming to stare at. Fodel's face was wrinkled, but surprisingly he wasn't bold although every inch of his hair and beard where grey.

As he disappeared into the kitchen I also headed to one of the guest rooms.

I slowly rested her on the fancy large bed and coverd her body with white sheets.

I stood up ready to leave only to be stopped by her hand grasping me tight.

Her caring gaze sent me in daze.

"Thanks for helping me out."

My heart stopped as I stared at her radiant smile

"No worries I'm just returning the favor."

"Don't just stand there sit here." She pated next to her bed.

The corner of my mouth turned up. I guess she wasn't cold as I thought.

"I'm so happy that I received this chance to take care of you myself." She gently caressed my hand.

"You actually don't have to do that you know. I can take care of myself "

She shook her head. "You don't understand, everytime I look at you I'm reminded of the promise I made to Esther, that I will take care of you in her stead and protect you no matter what. Now that I'm healed I can fulfil that promise."

"In that case, what do you say we take care of each other, I protect you and you do the same, fair right?"
