Rise of the Half-Bakugan

A Multiversal Entity made a mistake when reincarnating an ordinary soul, turning it into a half-beast it shouldn't have been. This novel is a tragicomic account of James' adventures in this situation, his fall and rise. *** This series is also a Bakugan Alternate Universe, which I have tried to keep largely accurate to the original. Have a good read. As always, I own the copyrights to what belongs to me. Any content that is not mine is not mine. This is a Fan-Fic after all. I have no say in anything related to Bakugan. It's just a shitty fan fiction written for fun.

Chapter 33 - Matchmaker (4)

Victor paused, realizing the words he had spoken in anger. How logical was it to shout like that at a stranger?

"That's enough. We have nothing to do with each other, Mr. James. Just go away."

There is no doubt that there are times in life when it is embarrassing to be embarrassed for someone else. Sometimes it's in the face of that person's foolish behavior. Other times it is only in the face of the absurdity of the event.

James' case was undoubtedly the first. His expression was that of a dying man.

This was the loss he had suffered as a result of his bet with Fox. Before coming here, he and Fox had made a bet on the root cause.

If he had known such an absurd bet would pay off, he would never have made it.

In his low spirits, he looked at Victor as if he was looking at a prey and said these words with all sincerity.

"No. Speak. Now."

He was so depressed that his eyes began to glow white again. The intensity of the brightness was so intense that it covered his entire eye, even overflowed and began to fly upwards from his temples in particles from his eye like bundles of flame. The involuntary pressure it emitted, combined with the glare, was enough to frighten someone like Victor. Although it didn't reach such an extreme level, he had seen James in a similar state before and broke out in a cold sweat.

"O-Okay, calm down. Calm down. I'll tell you."

He could have called security right now if he wanted to, but he had completely forgotten about that at that moment. James took a deep breath in and out. The brightness of his eyes slowly faded and returned. He sprawled out on the couch, ready and willing to listen with curiosity.

But the first thing he heard, surprisingly, was Fox's voice:

[You need to control your emotions a little more. Even your slightest reaction now causes an easily visible reaction on your eyes.]

James raised his eyebrows curiously, but remained silent about it. This was how it became clear why Victor was backing down. He wanted to ask curiously why, but there was no way to do so. So he started listening to Victor. Victor, who was barely calm, told his story little by little.

At first James was unresponsive as he listened. Because the story largely matched Lucy's description. But soon there were discrepancies.

First of all, it was true that Lucy and Victor had been trained by the same person. In fact, the only reason he accepted the training was her words at the time, "Maybe if you become a good cook, I'll go out with you." He didn't realize she was joking at the time.

But what Victor said after that was very different.

Their relationship grew as the training continued. Lucy talked to him less and concentrated more on her work. So Victor thought that if he was very successful he might be able to influence her.

But it was not to be. No matter how successful he was, Lucy was particularly reluctant to talk to him. This became more and more apparent as the achievement gap between them widened.

James couldn't make sense of it, but Fox mumbled something as if she could make sense of it.

[Love is a strange thing...]

Meanwhile Victor continued his narrative.

When Lucy's father fell ill, Victor was as sad as Lucy was. After all, he had become like a second father to her because of the time they had spent together. How could he not be sad?

The thing about him not being able to handle handing over the restaurant was just wrong. He understood that. But what he couldn't handle was Lucy not seeing him. If Lucy had inherited Moonlight. If she set up a restaurant to match it, then maybe she could catch his eye. She might even come to see him in person.

With this simple idea, and with his terrible determination, he succeeded. He even went underground for this. Thanks to these connections, Victor was even able to bring Volt Luster here.

Of course, that was at least part of the reality. This part confirmed James' predictions.

But it didn't turn out the way he wanted. Lucy was under the mistaken impression that he was trying to overthrow Moonlight. All he really wanted was her love.

When he went to Lucy's father's funeral, she was extremely hostile to him. Victor was stunned, not expecting such a reaction. This caused his unrequited love for her to turn into anger.

As a result, they were exactly where they are now. His desire to sink was based, as he had said before, on wanting her to need him. What a fool he had been!

James listened in silence. The contradictions were obvious. From his point of view Victor was right. From Lucy's point of view, Lucy was right.

He couldn't analyze this in a short time. So instead of thinking too much, he nodded his head a few times in agreement and stood up.

At first Victor had told his story out of fear, but then he had completely emptied his heart. That's why he had a relieved expression.

James looked at him and spoke without hesitation:

"You're coming with me."

The best way to solve this was simply to take him to Lucy. If he could just get these two people, both many years older than him, together, then things would be sorted out.

Victor, of course, was shocked. He immediately tried to speak in denial:

"What? No way! I've never-"

James suddenly appeared right next to Victor and lifted him up with one hand, along with the chair he was sitting in. Interrupted by this, Victor grabbed the arms of the chair in fear and started shouting:

"H-Hey! What are you doing? Let go of me! Security!"

He was shocked and, as any intelligent being would be, panicked and screamed. He clutched the sides of the seat tightly with his arms and grabbed the bottom of the seat with his legs. What kind of power did he have?

Ignoring his shouts, James asked in a low voice:

"Hey Fox, would it hurt if I broke this and jumped?"

[You'd probably feel pain at most. I don't think you can break anything easily after this stage].

He could ignore this pain because his time was limited. To be honest, this conversation had bothered him a lot. It left an unpleasant taste in his mouth, although he didn't know why. So he clenched his hand tightly and started throwing punch after punch to smash the wall!

For an ordinary person or a vestal, this move might have been too crazy or illogical. But he had knowledge of his power and knew he could do it.

With the first punch, cracks appeared in the gray walls. With the second, there was a small hole, and with the third, the wall began to collapse completely!

As the wall came down, James spoke as if it was normal:

"Hold on tight. Now we're going to try a superhero landing."

All the while, of course, Victor was screaming like crazy. How could he not? Some crazy freak was kidnapping him! And he was doing it by punching and breaking the wall like a maniac superhuman! Fortunately, as a result of his screams, security quickly pulled out the Shock Baton and the two white rings on it started to glow!

But James just glanced at them. Then he quickly jumped down and disappeared. When the security rushed over and looked back to where he had jumped, they saw silver particles of flying light, and they also saw James, who was moving at a breakneck speed, not as fast as a car, but extremely fast. Of course, he quickly disappeared.

I started taking a course to improve my English, so my vacation days were reduced as much as possible. Constantly and continuously. Lesson after lesson. So my regular chapter posting may be drastically reduced. As it is right now. I hope you understand. Thanks for reading
