CHAPTER 11 - AWAKENING CEREMONY

He ordered rice and tomato sauce with some fruit juice for the first portion, and for the second one, he ordered potatoes and egg sauce for a light snack later.

The boiled rice usually tasted bland, and what added taste to the food was the tomato sauce, the rice could be eaten with other sauces because of its bland taste.

The tomato sauce was a little pepper, adding a spicy taste to it with the fresh monster meat filled with energy mixed into it while cooking, so every time he bit into the meat it was like he was eating meat made of tomato sauce and absorbing energy to strengthen his body.

He finished eating and sat there satisfied, compared to the food the academy usually provided this was better.

He sat and rested for a while before packing his luggage and the second portion of food then going back to the academy, at the gate he saw Micheal who was also entering the academy.

"Where have you been since? Others are preparing since this is the last day before the ceremony," Micheal asked.

"Since I've been training all week I decided to tour around the city, I hadn't been to most places since I only focused on training since I entered the academy" Daniel replied.

They didn't waste their time talking to each other and went separate ways, Daniel walked to his room as Micheal went somewhere else in the academy.

He sat on his bed as he was about to begin his daily meditation, tomorrow was the big day he wanted to be at his peak and calmest tomorrow.

As he started to meditate, Daniel wanted to try something new, ever since he started meditating he had only focused on his inner body, focusing on his heart rate and blood flow, but today he wanted to train his external senses.

The training started with his ears, instead of listening to his blood flow and trying to correct it this time he put all his focus into his two ears, nothing happened for the first five minutes, and just when he was about to stop he heard a sound.

Before when people passed by his room the only way he'd know if people were passing was if they made loud sounds, but now he could hear their footsteps and their laughs it felt like he was next to them.

But once his focus shifted slightly he couldn't hear them again, their footsteps or their conversation he could just hear murmuring through his position.

He was swept, it was mentally draining to focus on one thing and keep doing that for a while so he stopped meditating.

Looking at the novels he bought he was about to read them when he remembered something.

His body, it wasn't only strengthening his body to the above-average physique that was his goal, he remembered the dreams he had that day of that man.

Just his physical body although covered by the dress he wore was marvelous, it was the epitome of beauty, he stood tall around the height of 6'7, he wasn't buff with muscles but rather average, but that didn't stop him.

Just raising his hands to punch the monster eliminated it, just the muscles that weren't covered by the dress he wore were beautifully intricate.

His biceps, his triceps, his brachioradialis everything just seemed perfect, he wanted a good body not just for strength but for the the beauty of it.

As he remembered he dropped the novels he was about to start reading and started doing some indoor exercises, he spent a total of two hours exercising even when he said he was going to rest for the day.

He dozed off shortly after, and what woke him up was the morning bell.

All around the academy, they all woke up with the same thoughts "The ceremony begins today."

They were all happy for some different reasons, for some they had a new way to increase their strength, while others had found a new path for their profession.

They all got ready and proceeded to the hall as their instructors stood waiting.

As they got completed the instructors started talking "The day has finally reached after a long time of waiting, the coming of age ceremony or the awakening ceremony"

"From what I heard the rewards this year would be higher than any other rewards given to a contestant in this city," the lecturer said.

As he said that some students started murmuring, "The rewards this time are high, what about us who didn't even practice, we've lost" Their voices were heard around the hall.

"So for those that practiced show your skills openly as you might even receive extra rewards," the lecturer said.

The group in the hall looked at the people who had been training since, if anyone was going to receive extra rewards it was going to be them.

"You all should prepare yourself we leave in an hour," the instructor said as he turned and left.

As they left most of the other students started rushing to prepare their things, while some had gotten theirs ready and were just waiting.

Daniel obviously didn't need to bring anything to participate in the event since he used his bare fists to fight and wasn't learning a profession.

Soon everybody got their things and stayed in the hall as they awaited the instructor.

An hour quickly passed and the instructors came back all dressed and ready.

"We move!" they said.

We got outside and were shocked at the line of carriages at the school gate.

They all boarded their carriages and were led to the city stadium, located somewhere in the outer city, so there would be a crowd of people coming to watch the ceremony.

As they reached the stadium they smiled, this was one of the latest building technology they had and they decided to make the stadium for big things happening in the city.

It was a wide open space with the stadium just standing there, other carriages were lined and parked, Daniel came out of his carriage and walked to the stadium as the students followed behind him.
