Chapter 3 Meeting Neo

Fang looked around himself as he adjusted to the new school. Lockers were present on either side of the corridors just like his previous one. The students were all of different races from black to white to Far East Asian etc. 

All of them wore their casual clothes ,some mostly of Asian origin like him were even dressed in their traditional clothing. Fang found this all pleasing living in a school full of people just like him, unique from all the other everyday humans. A school where he could use his abilities without restriction, as long as he didn't get on any of his superiors' bad side.

The only con he could think of was not all of them could speak English or were fluent in any of the Chinese dialects he was familiar with.

"So, you must be the newbie." said a mysterious voice.

"Finally someone who speaks English." Fang thought to himself.

"You're all wet too, definitely not a Riviera."

"Riviera? he though "Interesting , I know he's here but I'm not exactly sure where."

He then heard a faint thud on the top of the column of lockers on his left. Another one sounded on the floor and then it all became silent. 

A gentle touch was felt on Fang's shoulder and as of instinct he slammed his fist into one of the lockers.

"No need to be so jumpy, I was only testing our skills."

Fang saw the blonde haired boy beside him who was the same age and stature as him. He noticed the slit pupils the boy had which were slowly retracting back to normal. The boy was of Caucasian descent and wore a black and green checkered shirt with a white T-shirt underneath along with a pair of tattered jeans and white shoes. His hair was shoulder length and uneven.

He winked and smiled at Fang and then said :

"So what's your name newbie, human name not dragon."

"Fang Qian , from America ."

"Neo Garcia from Spain."

"Have we met before?" He looked similar to someone he knew from the back of his mind.

" Not during term school , I only attend holiday lessons."

" Let me guess you're usually in this world."

" Well I like it here, hey Coil come see the new kid!"

Neo knocked his knuckles hard onto the metallic column.

 On top of the lockers laid a curled dark brown snake with light brown blotches. After feeling the vibrations , it raised its head up and flickered its tongue to catch the familiar scent of its owner.

It then slithered down into Neo's palms and rested on his shoulders.

"You can keep snakes here," asked Fang fearfully. The wavering tongue reminded him of the komodo dragons he encountered.

"Snakes are over hated" answered Neo. "They would rather run away if not cornered, it's us humans that aggravate them."

"That's a python am I right?" Fang asked.

"Yes a ball python, don't worry it won't bite. They will never bite a dragon , we're their natural companions." 

Neo allowed Fang to touch Coil and he felt across the smooth layer of scales present all over its body. Eventually he found a round bulge halfway down the python.

"What do snakes eat in this world?" Fang asked

" Mostly rodents introduced to this place." Neo answered

"So he's the pest control."

"Exactly."

Loud steps began to echo across the corridors. Fang looked around for the source of the sound which came from a teenage girl with ocean blue hair passing by the now silent students. She bore a burn on her left arm and long hair that moved side to side like a swash on the beach.

"Hydrax." said Neo

"Is she a hybrid too?" asked Fang

" No, she's a pure dragon and can control water in all three states."

"She's been the best student in element wielding for years."

"She will make a good rival."

"Are you kidding? She will mop the floor with you literally!"
