Chapter 2 River God Encounter

After hours of trekking at noon they finally arrived at the Mississipi river which was also the state's natural border. Yin and Fang stood at a high point overlooking a segment of the grand river's journey to the Caribbean. Yin had made sure to answer all of Fang's questions starting with if the dragon people had horns and tails in which she answered no and that they did have slit eyes but were only visible when they were using their abilities.

They soon descended down to the beach , during the descent Fang took careful notice of Yin's amulet with a jade eastern dragon. She claimed she had'nt worn it ever since his father died. Once close enough to the water she tapped it on the river after three seconds the river soon became more turbulent and fast flowing than usual.

"The river's ready to transport you , now all you need to do is to swim."

"But what will happen when the trackers find you?"

"I placed a fire charm around the yard , no one except ourselves can enter without getting burnt." 

"Where did you? Did my dad give you that as well?"

"He always thought ahead. I realise that now." said Yin with a smile.

Fang began to unbutton his clothes but then her mother told him he had to go in with all his clothes on and plunge deep into the river. 

At first he was skeptical but since he was being tracked down it was better that he hid in the river than to wait for them to find and kill him and his mother. He continued to place his bag strap on his shoulders, took a deep breath to reserve air and then swam deep into the now feisty river. Fang could swim but his body never seemed to approve of water even now it urged him to swim back up. He fought against it and let his body be carried by the river.

Eventually he saw a large reptilian creature swimming through the water with ease. It looked similar to the dragon he saw on his mother's amulet. His last bit of air was about to be used up and he quickly grabbed onto the creature's scales. When he reached the dragon he realised that he could no longer hear the water gurgling around him and once his mouth opened up for oxygen he did'nt breath in any water. He was actually in an air bubble enveloped around the giant reptile. 

The creature then noticed him and swam quicker Fang continued to hold its fast swaying tail for dear life. The gurgling then returned and Fang once more held his breath but the river level had dropped below his shoulders. He no longer felt the scales , only drenched sand when he looked up he saw the creature that stood tall above him on a nearby rock. 

He looked closer at it and noticed it had a striped tail that had four legs. He then looked at the head which had the eyes and teeth of a tigerfish along with the head of a dragon whose body was 45 metres(147ft) long. 

"Welcome to Planet Raptilia" it said "Can I have your dragon name before you go."

"Dragon name?"

"You're one of those hybrids aren't you?" it sighed

"Who are you" 

"You're definitely one of those hybrids. Very well , I'm Nyami Nyami of the Zambezi river in Africa. Stand still while I check your memory."

Both individual's eyes started to glow yellow as Nyami Nyami lowered his head.

"I see, welcome to planet Raptilia, Linux Flare."

Nyami Nyami slithered around him once more and Fang appeared at the entrance of a large school.

"So do you visit other rivers?"

"Of course, who do you think the Loch Ness is , all the mythical water serpents humans have made up came from me."

"I will go to the school staff and tell them of your presence , try not to get into trouble okay."
