Rin Replaced (BL)

Tragically, Rin Grace - just your average person going about their day - was caught in a terrible accident. Amidst a heated argument, he stumbled and fell into oncoming traffic, causing a car to hit him, knocking him unconscious. At the same time, in another world, Misha Minari, an assassin, was shot. Fortunately, Misha woke up in a hospital bed, where he was greeted by an unfamiliar face standing beside him. "You seem to be fine. Next time, don't run out in front of my car. I will be handling the bill. Take care, Mr. Grace." He says as the door closes behind him. The man who just left was Jay Fenrick, the Crown Prince himself. Misha was feeling very confused and uncertain. He looked around, trying to make sense of his surroundings, but it was all too bewildering. Suddenly, he noticed something strange - his hands looked different. In fact, they didn't even seem like his own hands at all. Misha rushed over to a nearby mirror, and, to his horror, he saw a stranger staring back at him. It was clear that he was no longer in his own body, and he was now someone else entirely. What happened to the original Rin Grace? How did Misha end up as the Crown Prince's bodyguard, and what will Misha do now? Uploads Mon, Wed, Fri.

Unexpected Consequences

Rin

"Why were you outside? I was looking for you everywhere. I'm sorry. I lost control back there." I Say to Anon as he rests his head against the steering wheel.

I am at a loss. I don't know what to do. Anon doesn't like me as it is. I know he doesn't trust me either. I feel like there is nothing I can do to improve his opinion of me now.

"I thought I saw someone I knew. Someone I haven't seen in a really long time. I followed him outside, but I lost him in front of that alleyway. I thought I would check to see if he went down there, and that's when that man came up behind me. He took me by surprise. A minute later, you came. Thank you. I… I didn't think I was going to be able to fight him off." Anon says in a shaky voice.

I don't know what to do to comfort him.

"I'm just glad you're ok."

I can feel the tension leaving my body. I don't know how I would be able to face Jay if I let Anon get hurt.

"Yeah, me too. Look, your job is to be a bodyguard. Don't stress too much about that man. I will handle everything. I'm going to make a call. Do you mind stepping outside for a minute? Don't go anywhere, though… Please." Anon says as he pulls out his phone.

"Yeah, sure. I need to call someone myself." I say as I step out of the car and close the door behind me.

I need to talk to Parker.

"Hey Rin!! What's up? How come you're calling me so late? Everything ok?" Parker says as soon as he picks up the phone.

"Ugh, I'd like to say yes, but I keep finding shady information about Rin. I hope you can help me sort out the details. Got time to talk?" I ask.

"Huh? Sure." Parker is hesitant.

"So, it turns out that the Dean guy Josie and Rin know he was blackmailing Rin because he had forged documents and was here illegally. Rin also doesn't have a D.ID. Dean said that Rin wasn't the one who forged the documents, so I think that means it happened while he was still young. I have a feeling Senna Long may be connected to this as well. From the information I gathered, it seems Rin has been dealing with all this since your Dad died. When he decided to sell the house, that's when Dean came into the picture to help him push things through even though he didn't have the right paperwork. Maybe that was why Rin never wanted you involved with the whole process." I ramble on.

I pieced everything together as I was talking. I hope I didn't confuse him.

Parker remains silent.

"Are you ok?" I ask.

Parker sighs. "Yeah, I mean, no. This doesn't make any sense. Yet, some things fill in the missing pieces I had been wondering about. I mean, Rin changed a lot after my Dad died. It seemed like he was carrying a heavy burden. I just thought it was because of the debt my Dad left. Now, I'm not so sure. Is there any proof of all this?"

I don't blame Parker for doubting this. It would mean that their family had big secrets.

"The only thing we have proof of is Dean and Rin were blackmailing. Rin didn't have a D.ID. The rest is just hearsay and assumption. However, it does make the most sense. I will try to find more information. I think I was brought here for a reason. I need to help Rin so he can come back to his life and live well." I declare.

I really want everyone to be happy. This time, I will help people.

"So, I talked to Parker. He doesn't seem to know anything about Rin's forged documents. I don't know where to go from here. Plus, I might have to deal with the police now. I went way beyond self-defense." I say in a gloomy tone.

I can't shake my bad habits. I went too far this time.

"Why would you have to deal with the police? There weren't any cameras in the alley. I talked to my friend at the police station, and all we need to do is give our statements. As long as you say he wouldn't back down, you will be fine." Anon says as he drives us back to the palace.

"No. I won't lie." I say as I stare out the window.

"Why? He might press charges. That will make it impossible for you to work with Prince Jay. What are you going to do then?" Anon seems more concerned about me than I expected.

"I can't do it anymore. I can't live like I used to. I won't!" I snap.

Anon looks puzzled. I guess it's time to explain why I can fight so well. One of them needs to know.

"I was an assassin. A hitman, if you will. I killed people for money. My mother abandoned me to my assassin father, and he forced me to follow in his footprints. I did anything to succeed in my job. Lie, cheat, scheme, and kill. I did it all. As much as I want to be, I am not a good person. I can't be like that anymore. I will use my skills to help people. Not myself. I got a second chance. Even if it may be temporary, I won't waste it. My only goals are to keep Parker, the prince, and you save while I try to get Rin back to where he belongs." I say in a shaky voice.

I honestly have never been so nervous in my life. I might be a smart ass and a jerk, but I can't handle emotional shit like this. I never had anyone to confide in or talk to. I know Anon isn't my friend. I know he doesn't even like me, but I can't help but trust him. I mean, I trust the prince, and he trusts Anon.

Anon sighs before he speaks.

"So, you're still going to go with this bullshit story, huh? Did you expect us to believe you? Funny enough, I do believe that you are an assassin, though. That makes sense. I think this might be the end of your employment with us. I will take you to get your D.ID registered and have them do a psych eval as well. Then I will send you back to Parkers. I can't allow you to stay in the palace anymore. As of now, you are fired."

Thank you for reading Rin Replaced!

Look forward to more in the next chapter!!
