Rin Replaced (BL)

Tragically, Rin Grace - just your average person going about their day - was caught in a terrible accident. Amidst a heated argument, he stumbled and fell into oncoming traffic, causing a car to hit him, knocking him unconscious. At the same time, in another world, Misha Minari, an assassin, was shot. Fortunately, Misha woke up in a hospital bed, where he was greeted by an unfamiliar face standing beside him. "You seem to be fine. Next time, don't run out in front of my car. I will be handling the bill. Take care, Mr. Grace." He says as the door closes behind him. The man who just left was Jay Fenrick, the Crown Prince himself. Misha was feeling very confused and uncertain. He looked around, trying to make sense of his surroundings, but it was all too bewildering. Suddenly, he noticed something strange - his hands looked different. In fact, they didn't even seem like his own hands at all. Misha rushed over to a nearby mirror, and, to his horror, he saw a stranger staring back at him. It was clear that he was no longer in his own body, and he was now someone else entirely. What happened to the original Rin Grace? How did Misha end up as the Crown Prince's bodyguard, and what will Misha do now? Uploads Mon, Wed, Fri.

Interview

Jay

"How could he not be in the database? All of his files are legit. I triple-checked everything. I even went to the archives to look at his birth certificate." Anon says as we pass through security.

"I don't know either. He has a physical ID even. You need to have a D.ID to get one. It doesn't add up." I say.

Rin is an enigma. Everything about him is so complex. For someone so tough, his emotions are written all over his face. It's hard to fake that. He looked just as confused as us.

"Your Highness, it's been a while. How are you?" Warden Mayse greets us with a huge smile.

Warden Mayse is a friend of my father's. They went to Bayron Military Academy together. Warden Mayse used to be a General in the Royal Army. My father never told me the reason for his leaving, but I assume it had something to do with politics.

"I'm good, Uncle. Please drop the formalities. You knew me when I was in diapers." I say while sitting down in the chair across from his desk.

"Ya, ya. You know, I have to put on a show at work, at least. So, the guy you are seeing today was brought in because he has associations with the Black Faction. He was also found to be a part of their drug trade. He was involved with transportation. He has dual citizenship with Dalmane and Kervini, so they had the perfect mule." Warden says while skimming Greg Lowe's file.

Drug mule for the Black Faction? Wow, so his job at the café was just for the show. It makes sense why he fled when Rin was hit.

"Geez, this is getting complicated. I have had people attempt to assassinate me, but they were usually a single person who had a grudge against Father. Now I have one of Kervini's Colors attempting to kill me? That's not a good sign. I will have to talk to my father." I say with a heavy sigh.

"Indeed you should. We have 10 Black Faction members who came in because of the recent assassination attempt. They just kept following the breadcrumbs and found more." Warden spins in his chair and gets up. He walks over to the door and opens it. "Come, I'll take you to Greg Lowe. I can't give you more than an hour to talk to him. Use your time wisely." I nod as we walk out of the office.

"Prisoner 5423, come this way." A correctional officer says as he escorts Greg Lowe into the visitation room.

"Hello, my name is Prince Jay Fenrick. Thank you for meeting with me." I say as Greg sits in the chair across the table.

The security guard connects Greg's handcuffs to the loop on the top of the table.

"You're welcome, your highness. I am grateful for the help with my sentencing. I hope you will keep your word." Greg says as he leans his elbow on the table.

"Of course. If you answer my questions, I will do my best to help you reduce your sentence. Now I have a lot of questions I have to ask, but I am going to start with someone else's questions first." I say while pulling Rin's paper out of my pocket.

"Someone else's?" Greg asks.

"Yes, I happen to have employed a former co-worker of yours. You see, a couple of days ago, he was hit by my valet's car. He lost his memory and has been seeking any information that might help him regain his memory. You just so happen to be the person I watched chase him into the road. So, after finding out you were the last person with him before his accident, he asked for my help. Lucky for him, I also have a curious mind and would also know what happened that day. Do you have any idea who I am talking about now, Mr. Lowe?" I say with a smug smile.

Greg looks nervous. I find that odd. He is already in jail. What else does he have to lose?

"Yeah, Rin, right? Did he lose his memory? Is he OK?" Greg fidgets in his chair.

"Yes, he is just fine, considering the memory loss. So, why were you and Rin fighting that day?" I ask.

"Rin was paying me for some information. He wanted me to locate someone for him. I couldn't find anything, and he wanted his money back. I told him I didn't have it anymore, and we argued. I didn't intend on hurting him; I just wanted to scare him away." Greg says without hesitation.

"Who was the person he was looking for?" I ask.

"A woman named Senna Long. He told me that she was someone important he had to meet. The only thing he had to go on was her name and that she was from Kervini. I'm telling the truth when I say I couldn't find anything. I like Rin. I didn't want to screw him over. I couldn't find anything. I mean nothing. Either she doesn't exist, or someone made her disappear." Greg says.

He looks sincere. I don't know if everything he says is the truth, but some of it is.

"OK, next question. Is there anyone Rin was close to who may be able to help us get Rin's memory back?" I ask.

Rin doesn't actually have a lot of questions written. I have a feeling he was going to go with the flow, considering Greg's answers.

"Parker, his cousin. The guys at the café, maybe. Oh! Wait! Try asking Josie and Dean. Rin would grab a drink with them after work sometimes. I only met Josie, but I heard the name Dean often. I don't know his last name, though." Greg says excitedly.

He must think if he gives me better information, I will work harder for him. Good. Keep thinking that.

"Hmm, OK. From what you told me, the rest of Rin's questions are pointless now. I will ask my questions now." I state. Greg nods in acceptance.

"You have connections with the Black faction, correct?" I ask.

Greg nods.

"Why is the Black faction after me?" I ask with more attitude than I intended.

"Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I work for the drug smuggling ring. I have no idea about anything like that. I can tell you all you want to know about that." Greg says with an expectant look.

"No, thank you. Do you know the Black faction member Randall Mactavish?" I ask.

"Yeah, I know of him. He is usually in Kervini, though. He only ever comes to the border base when he has business in Dalmane." Greg says.

"Border base? What and where is that?" I ask as I jot down the information he is giving me.

"We don't actually have any physical bases in Dalmane—only bases on the border in Kervini. The colors are pretty strict when it comes to foreign affairs. As to where, I have already shown the police where on the map." Greg states.

So, the colors are still basically an underground government. It has been a while since we've had any significant problems with them. Luckily, the Black faction is actually one of the most minor factions. If it were one of the primary colors, we would have had to be extremely careful.

"Thank you for answering all of our questions, Mr. Lowe. I will keep my word and help you with your sentencing. I hope things don't get too bad for you. Goodbye." I say as Greg is brought back to his cell.

"So, how did it go?" Anon asks as we walk to the car.

"Honestly, he didn't know much about my assassination attempt. I was afraid of that when the warden told me he was a mule. Mules wouldn't know about stuff so important. We will have to get a chance to talk to Randall Mactavish. He will have more information." I say while Anon drives out of the jail parking lot.

"True. I will look into it for you. What about Rin's questions?" Anon asks, glancing in the rearview mirror.

"I will tell you when I tell him," I say.

I don't want to have to tell them the same thing twice. Today was tiring, and it was only 2 P.m.

"Sure, what are we going to do about Rin?" Anon asks while waiting to cross the road to the café where Rin is waiting.

"I don't know. I really don't." I lean my head against the glass and close my eyes.

Anon keeps quiet. He must sense that I don't want to talk anymore. What am I going to do with you, Rin? What can I even do? And who is Senna Long?

Thank you for reading Rin Replaced!

Look forward to more in the next chapter!!
