Chapter 2383 The Unknown Is More Dangerous Than Any Trap

Zhan Bu Du exited the 8th Dream Realm.

He had no inclination towards the event between Reckless Savage and Fang Yuan.

"It seems that Reckless had intended to give his inheritor a major boost," Zhan Bu Du thought to himself.

The whole Dream Realm stage felt like years but in reality, only took 20 minutes.

"Hmm, there are 32 more steps to go and so far, they have trained one's Body, Soul, Mind, and Attainment. I wonder what the other 4 aspects are?"

Zhan Bu Du took his 33rd step.

But as his feet landed, he realized that he had made it across the 5th Floor and onto the first step towards the 6th Floor!

"Strange. It seems that the other 32 steps are destined for another person. Hmm, just what is Reckless Savage planning?"

Zhan Bu Du stood a while longer to wait for the next person to observe what would happen.

Seeing Zhan Bu Du make it out, Feng Jiu Ge calmly walked across the 5th Floor.

He seemed to be completely unhindered.

Zhan Bu Du thought to himself: "It seems that Feng Jiu Ge is not the person experiencing the trials of the 5th Floor, otherwise it would be impossible for him to make such rapid progress with no pause."

Indeed, Feng Jiu Ge was not trapped within the Predicaments body.

His not seeing Hei Lou Lan ahead of him could only mean that she perished back on the 4th Floor.

"Oh, Hei Lou Lan there was so much expectation placed on you, when I get back, I'll plead with father to bring you back."

Of course, Light Emperor wasn't distraught over her death, rather he felt that death was no longer a problem due to his father's Blood Sea.

The real problem was that they may potentially fail their mission and the numerous Gu that was destroyed.

Gu and people could be re-refined, but it still cost a lot, which was the part that Light Emperor felt bad for.

Because who else was Giant Sun suppose to turn to for refining Rank 8 Immortal Gu? Who else but the killer Fang Yuan!

Thinking about all this gave Light Emperor a mild headache.

But he wasn't the only one developing a headache.

"What is Reckless planning?" The other Venerables were in the headache of their own.

Spectral Soul was unaware of what was happening with Ying Guang Xin: "Heaven, what is happening with Ying Guang Xin there seems to be a, no, two Gus being refined in her."

Heaven did not answer.

This infuriated Spectral Soul: "I thought we had a deal, why aren't you answering me!"

"I can't you idiot!" Heaven's voice rang out in Spectral Soul's mind: "This is related to Heavenly Secrets and the Heavenly Dao, if you want the answer go through natural inspiration."

Spectral Soul's face was twitching with anger: "Natural inspiration my ass, how am I supposed to do that!?"

"Hmph," Heaven's Will snorted.

Meanwhile, Giant Sun was also wrecking his brain for an answer: "By all accounts Hei Lou Lan should be dead but I can't seem to locate her anywhere. Her Luck persists on, so it's not like she no longer exists, but rather she still exists somewhere but where? Reckless Savage must be up to something."

Fang Yuan also had his own plight: "Reckless must have made some arrangements, but which are his arrangements? The natives? The Path of ascension? Or was even the Fate Wars part of it?"

Although Reckless alleviated him from some of the burdens the hunger of the Sovereign fetus Gu had placed on him, it didn't remove the source of the hunger, which meant that soon he would begin losing himself in hunger once again.

"I better make some arrangements…"

But the person with the most worries was Star Constellation Immortal Venerable!

While she was busy calculating and taking in all the variables that appeared she was not in any distress as Feng Jiu Ge was possibly the strongest there.

But she also didn't obtain any unique clues to Reckless's plans nor did her subordinates encounter any highly unique scenarios.

Thus, she had not much to go on.

Which was her point of stress!

"Something's brewing I can sense it, both Zhan Bu Du and Hei Lou Lan seem to be key parts in Reckless's plan, and although Giant Sun may try to hide it, his lack of anger towards Spectral Soul for killing his subordinate gave away that he knows something."

Star Constellation was not the number 1 Wisdom Path Cultivator for no reason, even the most minute detail could paint an image in her mind

"Another worrying point is what's happening to Ying Guang Xin, somehow she seems to be refining Gu but why and what? This could be a part of Spectral Soul's plan, but it could also be a part of Reckless's plan or even Feng Jiu Ge!"

Although she and Feng Jiu Ge were currently aligned, trust was something that neither party had, it was the reason why they took an Alliance Oath with very loose restrictions.

The agreement basically amounted to Feng Jiu Ge helping Star Constellation prevent Fang Yuan from obtaining the Myriad Beast Fusion Color Heaven, in exchange Star Constellation would not hold his family accountable.

It seemed like a good deal to the average person except that neither party had made any serious commitment or consensus.

Feng Jiu Ge side of the agreement did not require him to succeed only for him to 'try' and Star Constellation only agreed to 'pardon' his family not take care of them.

Largely in part because Feng Jiu Ge knew that Star Constellation taking care of his family is just giving her a free bargaining chip.

Because now she could always threaten him with it.

Which made Star Constellation quite nervous: "Feng Jiu Ge is a complete wild card, luckily this agreement wasn't to guarantee success but to ensure the Feng Jiu Ge wouldn't help Fang Yuan which means I'll have to depend on those two, though the chances there are slim as well."

Star Constellation wasn't particularly looking at winning, in her eyes 'winning' Reputation Gu was probably a scam.

She would not trust a sentient Gu that had been with Fang Yuan, who knew what method Fang Yuan had put on her.

"It doesn't matter who wins as long as it isn't Fang Yuan, the best-case scenario is for no one to win causing Fang Yuan to starve to death!"

Zhan Bu Du and Feng Jiu Ge were the leading two with Zhan Bu Du being in the lead.

Next was Ying Guang Xin who was still, absentmindedly, climbing the steps.

4th and 5th were Light Emperor and Lu Wei Lin.

With the rest of the Rank 8s, Chu Du, Wu Yong, Wu Shuai, and Hei Chun Qiu just arrived on the 4th Floor.

"It's all proceeding as planned," The Heavenly Spirit smiled to itself.

Zhan Bu Du stood before the 6th floor.

He was one step from crossing the threshold behind was Feng Jiu Ge.

Zhan Bu Du turned to look at him, he wanted to ask him about his bizarre intuition, but upon asking Feng Jiu Ge just shrugged his shoulders.

"Dear friend I do not know what happens I merely get inclinations to the Destiny of others." Feng Jiu Ge said.

Not getting the response he was hoping for Zhan Bu Du gave up and advanced first.

With bated breath and constant message relays with Hei Chun Qiu, his feet crossed onto the 6th floor.

Nothing.

There was nothing on the 6th floor, no special maze, no trap just an empty floor.

Zhan Bu Du frowned.

He was unsure of what was happening, he had prepared himself for the worst, and when nothing happened it only heightened his sense of danger!

Zhan Bu Du took his second step, but this time he felt something, a large increase in the pressure being exerted on him.

"Hmm, it seems this is the floor that is designed to weed out people," He thought to himself.

Nevertheless, he continued.

Feng Jiu Ge was right behind as well, and he too frowned at the pressure.

After making it across 25% of the way, Ying Guang Xin reached the 6th floor.

She too was caught off guard by the sudden increase in pressure but was only momentarily stunned, as judging from Zhan Bu Du and Feng Jiu Ge's expression they weren't putting in a lot of effort.

"I guess one's effort really can't be seen by others," she said as began pondering the deeper meaning of Feng Jiu Ge's poem: "There's something about it that's just calling out to me what is it?"

Arriving at the halfway point the pressure had significantly increased and was taking its toll on Zhan Bu Du and Feng Jiu Ge.

Ying Guang Xin was still quite far behind.

"I must go on!" Zhan Bu Du activate Perseverance Gu and kept walking.

Perseverance Gu was mostly used to control the Reverse Flow River, but it had one other special feature, it could produce thoughts that were more resilient.

In this case, it didn't take the pressure any easier, but it made the mind stronger against pressure.

Humans can often do amazing things but the pressure and doubt in oneself cause us to give up, only by gritting one's teeth and persevering can one succeed.

Feng Jiu Ge did not have Perseverance Gu and thus, the gap between the two began to widen.

Soon Zhan Bu Du managed to reach the first step of the 7th Floor, meanwhile, Feng Jiu Ge was at 75%, Ying Guang Xin 50% Light Emperor 25% and Lu Wei Yin was at 15%.

The pressure on the 6th Floor tested strength and willpower and really separated the genius of an era.

Everyone else had just crossed the 5th Floor.

"Finally, there's no one going to the 5th Floor," The Heavenly Spirit waved his hand and the 5th Floor turned pitch black once again.

It had summoned the predicament once more.

But the contestants did not see this as those who had just exited the 5th Floor were focusing on advancing to the 6th and those on the 6th were busy focusing on themselves.
