Where am I?" David said,

David suddenly appeared in a strange dimension. Countless tiny orbs floated forwards, slowly passing through some kind of 'sheen' and becoming dimmer. All of these orbs headed towards different directions once they reached a certain point.

At times, this sheen simply fizzled out of existence, any orbs floated through the place where it once was were not altered or dimmed in any manner.

He looked around to see a large number of spheres of different shapes and sizes, glowing. Some rapidly shrunk while others dimmed and began crumbling.

There were certain bridges towards these worlds, seemingly made of an illusory energy. These bridges looked like universes of their own, countless galaxies and stars existing within them.

"Is this the cycle of reincarnation or something?"

David, using all of his willpower struggled against the force moving him towards this 'sheen'. Suddenly, instead of moving, he began falling downwards.

David had been swallowed.

"It's…. warm and dark.."

"Where am I?" David questioned,

"Am I in a womb? I read about this kind of Isekai once."

David was extremely disoriented, being unable to properly see in the darkness. He was unable to control his body and felt claustrophobic, almost as if trapped in a small box in an uncomfortable position, unable to move.

David tried to roll over to his side. There was no space. He attempted to roll to his other side. There was no space. He attempted to move forward. He could barely do so. He felt an object or a tube connected to him.

David felt a strange banging against his head. It was rhythmic akin to the galloping of a horse. He felt a slight pain in the back of his head.

He heard strange noises outside the womb, feeling a sense of movement.

"Is my mother jogging or something? I must be hitting my head on her cervix because of her physical activity"

"What kind of worthless father do I have? Letting his wife strain herself so much"

He suddenly felt a strange, slimy substance on the back of his head, reminding him of his dream.

"Wait, are my new parents doing….. OH NO"

10 hours later

David wriggled within the womb.

"AAAAARGH"

A girlish scream could be heard seemingly from a woman giving birth.

"Finally, I can leave this place." David thought,

After many minutes of screaming from the mother. David was almost out. David pushed himself outward using the minimal control he had over his body.

"My eyes… They burn."

The dim light of a lantern felt like a blazing sun to David who hadn't seen light in a long time. He involuntarily began crying.

"Congratulations, Lady Hei Xu. You have given birth to a healthy baby boy." A woman, presumably a midwife said,

"Xu'Er, We finally have the child we've been dreaming of" A man spoke,

The "midwife" handed him to Hei Xu. She held him and slowly smiled, tears welling up in her eyes, both due to pain and joy.

2 weeks later

'I miss mom.' David thought,

Naturally, he wasn't speaking of his mother in this life. She was an extremely doting woman who always took care of him. He was speaking of his mother in his previous life.

Although he had new parents who seemed like good parents. He couldn't help but feel that they were actors, impostors who had replaced his real mother and father.

He felt that it was difficult to truly care for them. For example, why would one wish to have another dog when they knew that they had their dog, their best friend waiting at home for their return and that was all they needed.

He missed the food his mother used to make for him. He missed seeing her face every morning. He missed how she motivated and cared for him.

This caused him to be anxious and stressed which eventually led to health issues and colic.

"I should really get over it. I'm no longer David. Even if I want to be, my circumstances won't allow me."

"I'm even having health issues for some reason."

"Being a baby is...…. fucking awesome"

"I have servants who feed me, clean me and wipe my ass ON COMMAND"

"No worries, no stress, no responsibilities. This life is nice, too bad I can't live like this for long."

"Although, being breastfed and cleaned was embarrassing the first few times"

" From the conversations I overheard from the adults,I found out that people can use magic in this world, they apparently use some kind of energy called "primeval essence" and a conduit called "gu worms". "Although being a baby is nice, I still wish I could move properly"

Many years later

The rhythmic galloping of the Northern Plains' big stomach horses rang through the vast grasslands. However, behind this sound, muffled chanting could be heard.

Dozens of meters away, a mob of teenage boys stood, huddled around one another, forming a circle.

"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"

An unnamed boy's eyes stung as dust was kicked up, seemingly due to a tussle in the middle of the circle.

Within the middle of this circle, there was a young boy, his eyes azure blue akin to perfectly sanded blue jade, wrestling another boy, struggling against him as he was on the floor.

The young boy, seeing no other choice, flung his muscular legs towards the other boy's nether regions. The other boy's flinched, his face scrunching as he felt intense pain.

The other boy's grip weakened, allowing his opponent to do a takedown, pinning him to the floor.

The young boy's short and silky black hair moved wildly as he landed blow upon blow on the other boy. The other boy struggled, flailing wildly and even trying to roll over in an attempt to fight back.

The other boy finally banged his hands on the floor, in a quick and rhythmic motion, signaling his surrender.

The two boys shakily stood up, wiping sweat from their brows as they gave each other a handshake.

"Good fight, Qiu, you were a tough opponent"

"Same to you, Huan"

The chanting of the boys slowly settled down as Wei Huan raised his hands up into the air, celebrating his victory.

Soon, a group of boys approached Wei Huan, shaking his hand and patting him on the back as they congratulated him for his win:

"Good fight, man, you really are the best!" Wei Lin, one of the boys spoke,

"Yeah, man, you really fought off 'The Tiger' Wei Qiu like it was nothing!" Wei Gang, another of the boys exclaimed,

Wei Huan had a strange expression, shrugging his shoulders as he didn't know how to respond to his friends' compliments.

"Guys!" Wei Huan said, waving his hands and then stretching them out towards his sides, stopping his friends from moving further.

"I'll be leaving, I want to sleep a little early tonight so that I can prepare for the awakening ceremony tomorrow. Don't expect me to come to hang out near the tree tonight." Wei Huan spoke in an exhausted tone,

Many of the boys soon spoke, sounding displeased:

"Ugh"

"Oh come on, man"

"Why not?"

"How the hell do you even prepare for the awakening ceremony?"

"Do you just not wanna hang out tonight?"

Hearing the frustration in the voices of the boys. Wei Huan looked downwards, his face soon rose upwards with an exasperated smile.
