CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

The room was filled with a thick bout of silence. She tried not to let the set of eyes that were set on her bother her.

She lifted up her fork as she looked towards the plate of red meat that was in front of her and she slowly pushed it around her plate. She could feel the eyes of a few of those at the table trailed in her and she couldn't help but feel slightly unnerved by the feeling of them watching her.

"Stop watching them and eat." She heard a gruff voice call out in her head. She gulped as she turned her attention back towards her food. She nodded her head as she began to eat the meal before her once more.

She felt her hand tremble slightly as she sucked in a  deep breath and continued to take small bites. She had to admit that it did actually taste very good. She moaned slightly and she stilled when she felt his hand on her thigh.

She felt the sparks erupt and she turned her gaze to the side to look at him but his stare was blank as he stabbed his fork into his steak. He didn't seem to be bothered and yet she on the other hand was flustered.

She hated the fact that it was only she who seemed to be the one who was affected by his touch. She wanted to be the one that was having an effect on him. She smirked at the very thought as she realized that she had to be bold. She didn't know where the sudden need to be courageous came from but on its own accord, she found herself slipping her hand onto his lap. She heard him suck in a deep breath as she watched as he tightened his hold on his fork. She was relieved to see that he was also affected by her as much as she was by him.

She watched as he tightened his grip on her thigh as though it was his own way of sending her a warning before he slowly let go of her.  The rest of the meal was quiet and she was relieved by that. She ate in silence but she didn't miss the eyes that still remained on her.

She looked up to find that it was Sarah. The Alpha's fling and He had gotten used to having her stare at her. She had to get over it and move on from it.

"I see that you are jealous". She heard the Alpha say in her head. She didn't want to answer him. Was this how it was going to be between the two of them? That he was able to speak to her whenever he felt as though he was going to do what he thought was right.

"And I see that you are starting to make it a habit of getting into my head. I don't particularly appreciate it." she fired back at him. He only hummed in response.

She felt as though she had gotten some form of accomplishment when he didn't say anything to her again after that. She was glad to see that in the end, she was the one who had gotten the last laugh.

As the dinner came to an end she was relieved when she watched as the people slowly stood up for their spots and began to leave. She drifted and she turned to find that the Alpha and the Beta were the only people who were left at the table.

She tended towards Adam as he bowed his head at her slightly before sending her a slight grin. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the sight of him as she realized that he was only trying to be mischievous. She wasn't entirely sure what it was that he had up his sleeve but she knew that the last thing that he wanted to do was tease the Alpha.

"Well, Alpha, Luna. Have a good rest of your evening". He said to them and she nodded her head at him in response with a smile. She furrowed her eyebrows after a moment as she realized that elder Fag wasn't there. She wondered where he was.

For someone who seemed to be intent on selling the part of unity, it seemed as though he was hardly even present.

"Well mate. Come on, let's go." The Alpha said to her quickly and he was quick to snap her out of her thoughts. She turned towards him with a smile on her face as she sent him a wink.

"Well, I guess that we should get going." She said as she tried to feign confidence. On the inside she found herself panicking. She wasn't sure about how to feel about the thought of her being alone with the Alpha.

He stood up from his seat not giving her much more time to think about it as he offered his hand out to her. She took it shakily as she gulped before sucking in a deep breath and nodding her head.

They made their way back towards his tent in silence as she couldn't help but wonder what was going through his head. As they came to a stop in front of his room he pulled back the curtains as he gestured for her to step inside.

She gulped as she felt her throat dry up before stepping in. She watched as he looked towards her with a grin before he gestured towards the bed.

"Well, I am going to go and get some rest." He said as she watched he made his way to the bed and gestured for her to lay down with him.

She gulped as she made her way shakily. "I think I am going to sleep on the floor." She said to him.

She watched as he stood back up and came to stand in front of her. "Either you lay down or I will throw you onto the bed myself." He hissed.
