Confused

Rune paces back and forth not knowing what to do. When he got back he found Leon in Syn's room with her unconscious. She wouldn't wake up no matter what we did and I was beginning to worry. In the end it was a wasted trip.. the Mages couldn't do anything to help and I regret leaving her.

Things took a turn for the worse when Fig's breathing became labored. I laid him close to Syn and tried to think of something.. anything! "You're going to wear a hole in the floor if you keep on pacing like that.." Leon says from the corner of the room.

I glare at him but I move over to the bed and lay next to Syn wrapping her in my arms. "The smell of death is growing stronger.." Leon says and my hold tightens around Syn in a desperate, lame attempt to keep her safe. I've never felt so powerless... I lean in kissing her temple.. praying that some kind of miracle will happen and they both wake up.

I drift in and out of my thoughts when I suddenly feel a shift in power. I look over to find Fig's little body slowly breaking up and disappearing causing me to jump up in panic. Leon quickly runs over and we both watch in despair as nothing we do seems to help.

"He's gone.. literally just disappeared.." I say in disbelief and my eyes suddenly snap back to Syn. "Come on love.. please.. fight this.. I don't know how but.. please don't leave me." I say leaning my head against her forehead. She was so cold. I pull the covers back and climb in next to her wrapping my arms around her and pulling the covers back up around her.

Please be okay... I need you more than you'll ever know love. I hold her tight and wish with all my heart that she some how beats this. I feel her body temp slowly rising and I find myself suddenly finding a glimpse of hope but it soon fades away as her temp continues to climb.

"Bring in some cold water!" I yell in panic when I realize she's burning up. Before they can even get the water I pick her up and shift us to the cool healing water. I don't even bother with our clothes as I jump straight in, in attempt to lower her temp but it doesn't seem to be working.

"Please love.. fight this.. fight for us... I need you." I say over and over in hope that she can somehow hear my pleas but I feel like it falls on deaf ears as her temp continues to climb. I almost feel as if she could burn me from the heat it's so intense.

Suddenly her temp drops and she feels like ice but when I look down I see her multi colored eyes watching me and I feel my heart soar. "Syn! My love.. it's okay.. it'll be okay I promise. Thank you.. thank you." I kiss her all over her face. I didn't realize I was even crying until I found my tears falling on her.

She raises a shaky hand and wipes at the tears and says "I'm sorry Rune.. I love you.." Her hand falls and just like Fig her body begins to disappear. "No, no, no, NOOO!!!!" I yell as she slips from my fingers. My chest heaves as it feels like I'm being torn into two... This can't be happening.. this can't.

"Rune!" I barely recognize my sister's voice as I stare at my empty hands... she jumps into the water and grabs my face telling me something but I can't hear anything.. she's gone. This is all wrong.. Strong arms pull me from the water and I vaguely recognize Ren but I find it harder and harder to breathe. No... this is all wrong.. she can't be gone. She can't...

Lilith is back and she's trying to talk to me but I can't hear anything but the sound of my own heart breaking. I feel the runes on my body as they start moving and instantly Lilith hits me with a blindingly white light making everything stop.. making everything blissfully dark.
