The mountain under the sea of sand

Two man in black could be seen entering through the majestic front gates at Yale university in New Haven drawing many curious stares from all the young students passing by.

After drawing further attention while walking around in an unshakable way, seemingly knowing exactly where to go — this should be mentioned, but even Profs. that were working there since long time ago, do get mislead sometimes by all the corners and connections that make some of the buildings look quite similar to a maze from the inside — they could be seen entering an office. On the name plaque next to the door stood:

"Mark Lehner - Head of the archaeological research department "

(Good Morning Mister Lehner!) the first to intrude said.

(We can't wait any longer! What are your results?!?) the second exclaimed. Both of them spoke in a way that would make anyone struck with fear, unable to move at all. The result of their entrance could be clearly seen on Mister Lehner's face, pure shock. It took him a few seconds to notice a suffocating feeling. Just for him to realize the tension in the air produced through the man in black really made him stop breathing.

(HAAAAAAAAAAAA)

I took multiple breaths for him to recollect himself.

(Am I correct with the assessment that you are with the governments agency that gave me the Tipp as well as money funding further research into the subject of new ruins possibly found in Egypt?)

(Yes! We were sent as in your reports you were stalling multiple times any success!)

(I... I meant to .... No, I mean I ...)

Frighten from the aura of the man in black Lehner was only able to stammer.

(Get yourself together{!} and give us your report of the things you found out or not found.)

After the man in black retracted their auras the tension in the air noticeably lessened and Lehner started to explain his dilemma.

( After going through all our records, we weren't able to find any trace of the myth.

From this we could conclude that it has to be from the first Pharaohs.

Because our collection is more focused on the time Period at the middle and end of the prime time of the ancient Egyptian culture.

So, we were forced to contacted our colleagues at Oxford. They specialize in the time period we are highly likely seeking.

This was the first reason why I needed to stall.)

(You didn't tell them anything about the government being your backer in this research ?!?!)

(No! No! No! Never!)

(Good! Go on)

(As I Said we contacted them and after them searching their archives they were able to find out that the myth dates back to the first Egyptian Pharaoh recorded. They then demanded to get acknowledged their part of the success if we are able to find the ruins. Those un...)

(Stop! We don't want to know anything of the squabbles you have with your kind. We only want results and if they ask say you didn't find anything yet!)

(My apologies. I will definitely!)

{quiet}

.

.

(What are you waiting for? Go on!)

(OH. Yes. Definitely. {takes a long breath} Sooooo ah yes.

We got all the information they had. After some comparisons and analysis, we came to the conclusion the temple is definitely burrowed underground. It wasn't supposed to be like that. It was most likely buried underground over many millennials. Yes, the temple isn't of the old Egyptian culture. As our reference already stated that this temple was already buried and only from their own folklore did, they know that there was a Temple. But this folklore dates back to a culture at which times the northern part of Africa was green. I didn't say „still" because of geological knowledge we have. We know that the northern part of Africa was under repeated changes of climate. Their existed times it was green and full of live and times it was a dead desert and these changed more often than you would expect.

Our theory is that through the tectonically movement of the continent of Africa and its collision with the Eurasian plate an unnatural occurrence happened. Instead naturally building up mountains the land crumbled and slumped down with this one special mountain resisting. From here on it is the repeated change of climate that filled up the indentation. During times of desert the organic matter from the other part of the period would rot and form sand. Also, over the Time of the desert period the tallest and biggest natural monuments would always be grinded a bit. During the other part of the Period it would be a healthy savanna and the great amount of water would bind the loose sand and form earth.

This process is very slow and as I mentioned earlier it will have taken many millennials. With this we can also say that if we really find this mountain and at its foot the temple it can be the discovery of the millennial. At the same time, I do have to warn you. It is more likely that is all an empty myth. We are talking about a temple that is old it has to be from a civilization that was never recorded before. )

(Ok. But why did you stall your report? And you still didn't give us any information of use!)

(I didn't want to report because we are stuck at a point right now. As well for your information of use. I do have some, but there is a good and a bad thing...)

{silence}

(Don't stall!!! Tell us!)

Lehner twitched at the exclamation.

(The good thing is we were able to find out how the myth was even able to exist over many millennials till the time of the first pharaohs. In our search for underground hollows we found different old caves with prehistoric Carvings resembling a structure of Greek and Roman temple. I mean the carvings show the exterior and the front side of a temple only. So, we suspect it was carved into the mountain. With this the question who could possibly build it comes up again. As it seems the indigenous people of that times were Cave man. Basically, they didn't have what it took to build something like this. For now, we aren't able to answer that question. The really bad thing is we also noticed that even this seemingly special mountain, wasn't able to stand up against the power of time. This was noticeable by comparing the oldest and youngest cave painting. Looking at the different times of the depictions. We could see that the foot of the mountain seemed to disappear in the earth as in our theory. However, the top also seemed to be grinded away quite strongly. In this way we suspect that the total height of the mountain drastically receded. We can right now not find any hollow room that can be the temple. We suspect it to be too deep to find it with the physical phenomenon [guys anyone can help me here?] used for this kind of work. The waves also can't penetrate deep enough into the mountain.)

(So, you want to say us it is impossible to find!?!?!?!?!?!)

(Nononononono..... there is a way...)

(You don't want to see me pissed! So, tell me NOW!)

(There is! There is! Just as I wanted to say. The waves also can't penetrate deep enough into the mountain. The thing is we found the mountain. The mountain peak is still high enough and in range. However, for this I would need the help of the military satellites to scan a quarter of the Sahara as out equipment is strongly lacking. I know how important secrecy is for you, but I would take at least 2 decades with my team alone.

In conclusion we found the tip of the mountain. so, excavation could start. However, you would need to dig out the whole mountain this way. That would be to suspicious. My proposal is using military grade scanning devices, which we are going to calibrate a new and use for searching the exact location of the temple and then start digging with archaeological cover. I do want to emphasis this will only work in small scale.)

(Hmmm. We will see what we can do.)

(Ok! I think we're finished here. Mister Lehner you send a Report explaining everything you said to us as well as your plan. Good day!)
