A trip to the past

Upon hearing the voice Kian and Luna felt a sense of warmth they'd never felt before. It was as if their soul was being soothed.

And then after an unknown amount of time.

Kian was given a second chance

And so he opened his eyes

And was met with the sweet taste of life once again.

The grave could not contain them, for they were met for greater things.

Just before the crash.

"Well since we both got accepted into the top college we could just get a dorm to share right?"

"Yeah it shouldn't be a problem"

Two students were discussing their bright future while driving on a snowy night.

"Ah life couldn't be much better, and I have you which is the best part, if I was given 10 more lifetimes I'd spend them all with you," Kian said with a light smile on his face, leaving Luna blushing.

But Kian was pretty much right. His life was seemingly perfect. He had god-gifted talent, and a big circle of friends, so getting an extremely high-paying job shouldn't be too hard for him, And he had Luna who was in the same boat as him.

Life has reached its peak, but that doesn't mean it couldn't get worse. Theoretically speaking, since he was at the top the only place to go was down. And the difference is, you could reach a peak of how good your life was, while on the other side, it could always get worse and worse.

And just then, even with how smart or how good their life was going. They were met with a challenge that no human could survive.

CRAAASH!

You know when they say your life flashes before your eyes before you die? Well, this was partially true for Kian, but instead of his whole life just small glimpses of his past.

Around a decade ago.

Kian's father was currently talking to a man and woman he had never seen before. From their friendly demeanor and lofty attitudes, they appear to go way back.

"Oh you haven't met my daughter yet have you, she's around your boys age, say hello Luna"

Just then a girl around Kian's age poked her head out from behind her parents.

She scanned the room, her eyes meeting with Kians for a short moment before breaking away.

"Hello, I'm Luna nice to meet you," the girl said politely

She was speaking to my parents.

"Nice to meet you, Luna, you're a very respectable young girl, we have a son about your age, I hope you two can get along," my mother said in a happy tone while signaling me to come over and introduce myself.

I had no problem with that, I'd like to think of myself as a pretty social kid when I'm not worrying about my studies.

"Hi I'm Kian, nice to meet you two," I said respectfully to my parents' acquaintances. After that, I turned to look at Luna

"And nice to meet you, Luna, I hope we can become friends"

Several years later.

"This should do," Kian said to himself while adjusting his school uniform.

Just recently Kian got accepted to one of the most prestigious schools in the nation; it wasn't easy of course, he had to withstand countless nights of studying before he could even think about applying, but with Kian being the smart kid he was and his family's well off financial situation he got more help with his studies: even becoming one of the top prospects for future students.

Giving one last look at himself to make sure nothing was out of place he grabbed his bag and headed off. The plan was to go to the first day of school with Luna; who has gotten accepted as well.

Kian was less nervous than a normal person would be when going to a new school because he already had his best friend with him; Luna. She had gotten accepted by him as well, since they were little they both looked to get ahead of each other in schoolwork; with their competition being the main fuel for their studies it propelled their academics to new heights.

With each of them growing up in the same city and being introduced to each other at a young age they had a very strong friendship… They were also equally terrifying when it came to school work so one of them wouldn't jump too far ahead of the other for a long amount of time, and if they did it would only give the other more determination to surpass them.

"I'm leaving, mom, I should be home a little after the first-day ends. "

"Ok honey, have a good day at school, and make sure to tell Luna I wished her a splendid day too."

Kian gave a small nod before holding his hand up and slightly waving it.

"Alright I'm off"

After that Kian started to walk over to Luna's house, it was a short walk and she lived closer to the school so they planned to just meet up at her house before embarking on their journey. After all, this was a pretty big deal; the first day at one of the best schools in the world, going from a pretty high-tier school to one of, or if not the best would be one of the hardest challenges a normal set of people could face. This would probably be the biggest change they met in their lives, the amount of studying to potentially try and stay on top would cause a normal student to give up school entirely.

After Kian arrived at Luna's house he started to walk up to the door, but before he could reach it he saw something in his peripheral; Luna's house had large bushes just beside the main entrance, and Kian was sure he just saw something in one of them. Kian already had a thought about what was happening and chose to appear dense to the situation.

So after reaching the door and giving it a knock he wasn't surprised when he heard faint rustles and somebody jumping out of the bush.

"BOO!"

"Huh you never give up do you"

Kian said in a low tone while shaking his head

"Haha, you were so scared I knocked all the emotion out of you!"

"You're right I was petrified"

Kian turned around and was met with his starter, a female a little shorter than him with a head of Luciurius black hair and reddish amber eyes that almost sparkled when you looked into them. They almost gave off a sense of warmth, like a cozy fire on a cold winter morning.

That was for everyone but Kian, the one who knew her the best. Instead of the cozy fireplace, he only saw a violent burst of flames engulfing everything in sight.

Truly scary.

At a first glance, you'd assume Luna who looked more on the feminine side of a woman would have a soft toned down personality but this was not the case, she wasn't scared to speak her mind and feelings, and of course, she was more comfortable being herself around Kian more than anyone else. She happened to be much more energetic than she appeared, but I guess that's why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

"Alright enough of your antics let's go before we're late"

Kian said while shaking his head, almost in disappointment.

"Tch this is an important day, have some happiness in it"

Luna said while scoffing.

"Yeah well it wouldn't be very joyous for me to be late to the school I worked my ass off to get into"

And with that Kian looked at Luna once more, scanning her up and down quickly; she was wearing the standard school uniform. Kian knew Luna had great looks and would attract a lot of people's attention but he felt like it wasn't his place to worry about her private affairs; they were childhood best friends and he didn't want to ruin that.

Kian personally had never worried about anything like that, he had a large social group and had a few classmates confess to him but he didn't pay it much attention. Besides Luna Kian didn't hang out with anybody too much. Immersing himself in his studies was his go-to when he had free time on his hands.

"I scared you, didn't I? Well let's go before we are late, that'd be pretty bad." Luna said while edging him in the side with her elbow in a friendly manner.

Kian couldn't help but smile at the situation before hurrying along to their first day.
