Chapter 3

Penelope's POV

I landed another hit and she cried for me to let her be, immediately I had to let her go with a warning, "You better know how to behave toe, I am not your younger sister but your elder sister."

"You are going to regret hitting me."

"Are you still talking? I am your blood, treat me like family, is that too much to ask? What did I do that is making you this upset about me? Tell me and I will apologize."

"I don't need a reason to hate you Penelope, I prefer you get wiped out of this life for good." She said out loud I get that, she doesn't like me but there is nothing I can do, I love my family regardless of anything else.

I walked to the living room and I saw Kelvin with my parents.

"I thought you all said Penelope wasn't home?" Kelvin asked looking so surprised when he saw me.

"Oh, did I say that? Maybe you misheard me, I meant to say she was sleeping." My mom replied and I knew she must have told lies about me as usual.

"Yes, I was asleep, I just woke up." I had to join her so it doesn't look like I want to shame my mother in public.

"I see, sir, ma'am if you don't mind, can I speak to Penelope alone."

"Sure, you can, and thank you for the gifts as well, we are honored."

"It's nothing, sir, thank you so much."

"Hum, Dad, you mean I can??" I was shocked when my father agreed, why are they acting so nice now, the glace my dad gave me made me take back my words and walk out with Kelvin.

"Are you sick?"

"No, I am not sir Kelvin," I replied to him.

"Can you please stop calling me Sir Kelvin, just call me Kelvin."

"I will try."

"Okay, I miss you, you know, I wanted to know if you are running from me because each time I visit, I don't get the opportunity to meet you and I guess today I am lucky."

"Oh, maybe I wasn't home." I lied.

"Do you have a boyfriend, Penelope?" He asked me and I felt shy immediately.

"No, I don't, why?"

"Because I want to be your man."

"Hum!!" My eyes widened.

"I understand this is too much for you to take in but I won't rush you, we can start as friends, I hope to marry you as well."

I didn't know what to say but I had to end this conversation because I didn't want any problems with my family.

"Sir Kelvin, I mean Kelvin, I need to take my leave now, I just remembered I have to cook now."

"I see, wait a minute, I got something for you." He added and walked to his car, he came back with an iPhone and passed it to me.

"This is for you, everything is done, hope we can talk once on the phone since you are not always around."

"I am sorry I can't accept this."

"Should I kneel?" OMG, he is so handsome and gentle, how can I say no to him, well Since Dad allowed me to talk to him, maybe this is a sign, that I am going to experience my first kiss soon, oh silly Penelope, why are you thinking about a kiss now?

"Thank you so much."

Immediately he left, I got inside and saw my parents looking so furious, guess my sister must have told them I slapped her, I am ready for their punishment now.

My sister grabbed the phone from me and was about to say something my mom rushed me with a beating, I was helpless, and in my presence, Monalisa destroyed the phone saying, "Kelvin is mine, dad mom, do something."

They kept raining abuse on me but I wasn't bothered, why do they have to do that? This is the first time someone has gifted me something precious and they took it from me why?

My mom woke me up at midnight saying, "I need you to get me painkillers at the pharmacy down the road."

"Mom, it's 1am."

"And so? Are you trying to disobey me? I said I need painkillers for my daughter, if you hadn't beat her up, she wouldn't be complaining of body pains."

"I am sorry Mom, I will go get it now."

"Stop calling me your mom, I will never be your mother, be fast about it."

She walked out and I came out that late, I was scared walking down the lane, it's dangerous at night but I had no choice.

Getting close to the pharmacy, some guys came at me and captured me in their van, and drove me off to a different location.

I cried and begged but they placed a cloth in my mouth, they finally brought me out and we were in the middle of nowhere as they took out the cloth from my mouth.

"Let's have a taste of her before we kill her, we can't allow such a beauty to go to waste." One of them said.

"Please don't harm me," I begged, I was really scared, I don't want to be raped.

"Shut that trash, we were paid to get rid of you, and having fun with you is a bonus, let's do this before we kill her."

I screamed immediately two of the guys pinned my hands, the other opened my legs while the last one who looked like their gang leader pulled his trousers, I was so scared, somebody help me, please.

He was ready to force himself on me when I heard the sound of multiple bullets and boom, there was blood on my body, they all dropped dead.

"Trash like these morons deserve to be in hell." I heard a voice and his footsteps approaching me, I was already fidgeting because I just witnessed what I couldn't take, and then I passed out.
