glancing at the place called home for the last time before leaving was the painful living there for 13 years and 10 months and 1 day and leaving it forever to a place no one would want to

smiling at the once filled house now empty as tears fell you couldn't call me sensitive or dramatic leaving the place I was born and grew up calling it my own country and leaving to somewhere so foreign so dangerous

I cried while holding the phone to my ears and listening to the soothing words my bestie said to comfort me but not being able as she broke down aswell

after a good time of crying I sighed putting a bitter smile and saying my farewells to her taking my backpack and suitcase I went out seeing my mother close the doors seeing her glowing eyes as she tried to keep in her tears locking the place filled with memories joy and pain it's where you call it 'home'

exiting the elevator and going to the parking lot I saw another car arriving it was my bestie's father and brother her brother came out and handed me a book "she asked me to give you a book and said to open it on the way" and went back to helping put the suitcases in the car

holding onto the book I smiled and entered the other car where my uncle and brother sat in the front seat and me, my mom, and my sisters in the passengers seat

on the way to the airport everyone was silent until my uncle spoke up talking and giving advice to my brother and the rest of us "no matter what stay at home I don't want you to go outside with the boys there it's dangerous if they ask you are you scared and make fun of you just say you are you can never trust any moment over there so always stay at home and avoid going out at all cost"

After checking in and getting the test for the covid-19 we were asked to go to the waiting area saying goodbye to my uncle our relatives who were there we went to the waiting area

It wasn't a pleasant feeling like it always was visiting the airport and the going on planes is what I love but this time it wasn't I felt empty and wanted to run back home it wasn't a 2 month vacation it was leaving here forever

Leaving school, job, home, families, safety everything going to a place where every second of living is at risk somewhere I promised not to go back two years ago
