51 Victory

"Haaahh…Haaaahh…"

After Blanc's men routed the enemies, the stamina potions wore off and a wave of tiredness struck everyone.

This didn't stop them from celebrating though.

"YEAAAAAAAAAHHH That's what you get for messing with our town!"

"VICTORYYYYY!!!!"

"AAAAAAGGHHHHHHH LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO!!!"

The men couldn't help but shout their victory warcries. This was the first time they ever fought another army and it looked like they were about to lose earlier.

But then, their almighty captain Helena defeated the enemy commander Iron Tiger, and made the winds of victory blow towards their direction.

The soldiers' level of trust and admiration went up to a whole new level. They haven't seen their captain Helena lose in swordsmanship ever.

Now, they saw her fight another master swordsman and she even won easily to give them the overall victory. 

How could they not admire her?

After a few moments of wild joy, everyone eventually started to settle down.

They can't just leave the corpses there. As soldiers themselves, they must at least properly bury the dead, even if they're enemies.

Fortunately, on their side, there were zero casualties this time. Although almost all of them suffered injuries. Out of 200 people, 50 suffered heavy injuries while 120 suffered light injuries.

Good thing they have the lesser health potions though. Without the potions, who knew how many of them would've died already?

After resting for a few minutes, everyone started to work.

Some of them started digging graves while others arranged the corpses in an easy-to-bury manner.

The additional work was no joke but they had to do this. 

After a day of exhausting work, everyone finally finished burying the dead.

They didn't go back straight to the town though. They camped for one more day to focus on the treatment of those who suffered heavy injuries.

Sadly for them, 20 out of the 50 people who suffered heavy injuries were maimed for life and cannot continue to be soldiers.

However, this is still better than dying. At least they will enjoy lifetime retirement funds from the town. In addition, they can focus on living with their family.

After everything was over, they started to march victoriously towards the town.

On the way, Blanc chatted with Helena.

"Helena, I'm so glad you're back. I was really worried about your safety inside the forest."

"Thanks, Blanc, I'm happy to be back too. Also, I got really strong now you know? I fought lots of strong beasts and creatures in there!"

"Yeah, I was really shocked after you sent Iron Tiger flying with a kick to the face."

"Hahahahah that old fart deserved it! He was acting so pretentious as if he was the strongest in the world."

"By the way…I noticed that you arrived with perfect timing again today…Is it really a coincidence or are you actually…"

Blanc noticed that this immaculate timing of Helena when saving people has happened twice now so he couldn't help but ask.

"W-W-What do you mean? O-Of course it's just a coincidence! T-T-There's no way I'm doing it on purpose!"

"I see, What was I thinking? Of course, it's a coincidence!"

"Y-Yes! J-Just a coincidence!"

Blanc dropped the matter and kept a poker face afterward but inwardly he was laughing. 

Based on Helena's reaction, it seems that she arrived way earlier but just waited for the perfect timing to save the day.

After two days of traveling, they saw the citizens waving and cheering at them as they marched back to town.

This scene made their hearts flutter. The glory of marching back home as victors! 

The warriors have never been so proud in their entire lives. After a hard-fought battle, to see the citizens smiling, waving, and cheering for them makes all of the effort worth it!

soon, they reached the town. Each warrior was greeted back with a smile by their family members who were obviously very happy that they made it back alive.

Even the family members of maimed warriors couldn't help but cry in happiness. As long as their loved ones are alive, everything is fine.

Blanc ordered everyone to stop working for today and prepare a feast! They shall be celebrating the victory tonight.

After a few hours of preparation, everyone gathered in the plaza to participate.

Bonfires illuminated the elated faces of the townsfolk, Clinking cups of liquor, and people eating to their fullest.

Such a harmonious scene is happening inside Blanc's town.

They have successfully fended off their first invaders.

Although everyone knows that this will not be the only time that they will be invaded.

Their trust in their mayor and their protectors will grow with each victory.

As long as the people's trust in Blanc is steadfast, this town shall never fall.

After a few hours of partying, the adults were drunk and the children were tired.

As happy as they are, the party will always come to an end.

Not for Blanc though, his night is just beginning.

Both he and Helena are currently drunk and they're on the way to his hut.

Helena locked the door and after a few moments, Helena's loud moans can be heard from the hut.

Although they couldn't perform themed sexual intercourse this time, doing it while they were drunk was a whole new experience for both of them.

For the first time in three months, they were able to bond together again as one.
