Chapter 25 Twin Dragon Chamber of Commerce

Time passed and Lily returned with the body of Roland. It was in such bad shape that Aliyah had to ask if he was alive. Azrael looked at her and said, "We have completed our part of the deal. Now it is your turn. Give us the biggest piece of land available in the business district and contact some trustworthy dwarves for us. We will open shop on the day of your coronation in two months."

Aliyah provided them with a large piece of land in the market district and contacted a famous construction company run by dwarves. This construction company, Dwarven Builders Inc., was a construction company run by the Royal Family of the Dwarves. They would accept any request as long as their fee was paid without any discrimination. If their work was not of high quality, they would refund all the money. The thing that Azrael liked the most was that they provided absolute privacy.

Azrael left the recruitment of employees and the supervision of the ongoing construction to Lily and started making and purifying 5-Star Mortal pills and metals. He had already become a 6-Star Mortal Rune Master so 5-Star products were easy for him. He also made a catalog of all of his products and had copies of it made. On every product, he imprinted a unique symbol of two dragons intertwining that could be used to check their authenticity should someone try to sabotage them.

Just like this two months passed. The construction of their shop had been completed and Lily had hired 50 employees. All of the had signed Soul Contracts that not only ensured their loyalty but also their safety. Lily had given a demonstration of her strength to them and if somebody threatened their safety, Lily or Azrael would take action to eliminate it. Azrael also set up many defensive 6-Star Mortal arrays in the building that ensured its protection and safety, even under the attack of a Spirit Awakening realm cultivator. The building itself looked very majestic. There was a very life-like statue of two dragons intertwining near the entrance. Lily had dripped a drop of her blood essence on it so that it projected real dragon might.

During the two months, Aliyah became good friends Lily and Azrael. She realized that the couple was only that crazy when it came to battle. She had also hired the Dwarven Builders Inc. to rebuild the Royal Court. The day of the Coronation was nearing. All the guests had arrived except for some foreign delegates. The whole city was decorated and the inns were packed to the brim with people.

The day of the Coronation had finally arrived. All the guests had arrived at the venue, the Royal Palace of the Twillight Empire, The Palace of Eternal Night. As the moon reached its zenith, the coronation ceremony commenced. The palace's grand hall served as the central stage, its ceiling adorned with an enchanted dome that projected a swirling display of colors, stars, and fantastical creatures. The air was filled with a symphony of enchanting melodies performed by skilled bards and musicians.

The whole Coronation Ceremony was broadcasted to every part of the Empire. The coronation rituals were conducted by a distant relative of Aliyah. These rituals included the anointing of the Empress with sacred oils, the presentation of symbolic objects; a scepter with a crescent moon on it that represented the Empress's role as a guide for the empire just like the moon guided travelers in the night. A midnight blue royal robe that represented her eternal rule. And a pitch black scythe that represented her duty to reap the lives of all that threatened the Empire. Then recitation of ancient oaths that bound the Empress to her people and the Empire took place. Finally, a pitch black crown with a round Stellarite in the center was placed upon her head. Azrael was shocked after seeing the Stellarite because it was a very rare gemstone that was usually found inside meteorites. These gemstones needed to absorb a lot of Stellar Energy to form successfully and had the effect of speeding up cultivation.

She then addressed her people and gave a speech, "My citizens, due the betrayal of the Lunae family I had to run and hide. I disguised myself as a commoner and spent the last 10 years amongst you all. It allowed me to see that the commoners were living lives that were worse than servants. I saw the Noble Families commit atrocities without suffering any punishment." As she continued with the speech, the commoners had started crying because finally there was someone who could see their plight and was willing to help them. On the other hand, all the Nobles had a really bad feeling. "The time has come that we rid ourselves of this cancer that is devouring our great Empire from the inside. With the help of my new Royal Advisor, Lily Windsor Primis, I have found a solution." She waved her hand and servants handed a piece of paper to the Heads of a every Noble House.

She continued, "The pieces of papers in your hands are Blood Soul Contracts. They demand your absolute loyalty to me, Aliyah Nightshade. There are some additional requirements. Slavery will be strictly prohibited in the Empire and if any signs of slave trade are found in a territory, the Noble House in charge would be held accountable. They must also follow all the laws without bending them for their own benefit. The Empire will adopt a Merit system. With enough merits, anyone can become a Noble. The current Nobles can also advance their titles with enough merit. Similarly, if a Noble House doesn't have the necessary amount of merits, their titles would be demoted. Lastly, the titles of Nobility cannot be passed down for more than two generations. Only the worthy shall be granted authority. This contract will be bound to their entire bloodline and soul. If they break the contract their entire bloodline would die with them. If any Noble House refuses to sign the Blood Soul Contract..."

She again waved her hand but this time the servants carried the body of a man in chains. The Nobles recognized this man as Roland. Aliyah used her scythe to sever his head and continued, "...will be treated as a traitor and join this piece of scum in the afterlife." By the time her speech ended, every commoner had started chanting 'Long Live the Empress' together at the top of their voices. The Nobles started sweating, some even tried to escape but Azrael simply killed them all. They had no choice but to sign the dreadful contract.

When all the contracts had burned to ash, she waved her hand one more time. The Nobles visibly flinched at the sight. She smirked and said, "As a reward for your loyalty, I will bestow all of you with a treasure." The servants handed a jade box to all the Nobles and other guests. She continued, "Inside every jade box, there is 1Kg of 100% pure 5-Star Mortal metal." She let the weight of her statement settle and said "All of these were procured from the Twin Dragon Chamber of Commerce. If any of you want more, you can visit their store in the business district." Then Aliyah announced, "Let the festivities begin."
