Starlight Mall

As Li Xin went to dress up, Ling Hong went to his room and put on a T-Shirt and jeans as he had no other clothes. He made a note to himself to buy himself some clothes. 'Maybe I'll get Xinxin to pick some out for me and some for her too while we are at it.' he thought. He grabbed the bag that Uncle Sun left him. He found an ATM card and a membership card for businesses under Blue Ocean Group. There was also a contract of transfer of the No. 3 Lakeside Villa to his name, along with a slip of paper mentioning the password to the ATM card and a number for someone named Dong Yi which he figured was the driver mentioned.

Since he did not have a mobile phone yet, he went downstairs and rang up the given number. He mentioned that he wanted to go out and a voice replied "Okay, I'll be there in a few."

Soon, Li Xin came dressed in a casual dress with her hair tied in a ponytail and a bit of makeup. Seeing her in such attire, Ling Hong realized that she had truly grown into a beauty and felt that he really did her injustice. After all, he did nothing for her all these years and she still waited for him.

Li Xin asked in a shy voice "Brother Ling, what's with that look? Am I not pretty as you thought?"

He laughed awkwardly and replied "No, it's just that you are more beautiful than I thought. I was thinking whether I am still worthy of you. If it weren't for me-"

Li Xin interrupted him with a shush and said "Like I said, I don't regret anything. So don't blame yourself, okay?"

Ling Hong nodded as a reply, but swore inwardly that he would give her a great time as they went out today to make up for a bit of his actions. Soon a car honked at the gate and they got out of the house to leave. After locking up, they went out and saw a silver Audi A6 parked outside. There was a young man in his 20's sitting in the driver's seat.

As they got in the car, he said "Sir, I'm Dong Yi. Uncle Sun asked me to drive you around. So where do you wanna go?" Dong Yi knew that the person in the villa was a guest of the Master of the Hua Family hence behaved politely, but was still surprised when he saw that it was a young man and he was accompanied by a beautiful girl.

Ling Hong grinned and said "No need to be polite, Brother Dong. Just call me Ling Hong or Little Ling like Uncle Hua does. I am younger than you anyways."

"Haha then I shall call you Brother Ling then. So where do you wanna go and what do you want to buy?" Dong Yi spoke, relieved that the other person was not like some arrogant Young Master.

"Uh..We need to buy a lot of stuff. Let's see, a mobile, computer, clothes and all. Where do you suggest we go?" Ling Hong asked.

"Mmm. I think it's best to go to Starlight Mall then. It has all varieties of stuff and is under the company so if you if you have membership cards it'll be quick and efficient. By the way do you have a membership card?" Dong Yi replied.

"Yeah Uncle Sun had given me one yesterday. I think it's a Diamond one." Ling Hong said.

Dong Yi was shocked silly and stammered "Di..Diamond? For real?"

Ling Hong was caught off guard at his reaction and asked "Yeah it's just a Diamond one. Why do you look so scared?"

"Just a Diamond? Brother, do you not know it's significance? Oh my god!" Dong Yi sighed helplessly. He then cooled himself down and said "Brother Ling, to put it simply Diamond is the top grade of membership cards. There are less than 20 of them as far as I know. With it you can have a credit of up to 10 million and get a discount of atleast 30%! In other words, only the main family members and top management can get a hold of these cards. Looks like the Master values you greatly."

"So powerful?" Ling Hong was dumb struck. He never imagined Hua Jun to treat his this good. Beside him, Li Xin was also startled inwardly but managed to maintain a composed expression. She naturally knew of the Diamond Membership but never expected that Ling Hong could get one from Hua Jun.

"Alright, then Starlight Mall it is." Ling Hong said. Dong Yi nodded and drove towards the city.

After half an hour of driving, they reached the destination. Starlight Mall was a gigantic building 10 floors in height and had hundreds of shops covering all areas like electronics, clothing, food etc. as they got out of the car, Dong Yi said "I'll be hanging around in the area, so just ring me up when you have finished."

They then entered the mall without going though much people. As it was a weekday and afternoon at that, there wasn't much of a crowd.

"Let's get you a phone first." Li Xin said as she dragged him towards a electronics shop.

"Sure, but let's we're getting a new one for you too." he said, pointing at the phone she held. It was obvious that the phone been past its prime. She wanted to reject but seeing the resolute look in his eyes, gave it up. She also felt happy because he was doing something like this for her.

They entered the store and went to one of the counters. Since Ling Hong did not have much idea about phones, Li Xin took the initiative and called out to the salesgirl at the counter "Hello, we want to look at mobile phones. Can you show the latest products?"

The girl was newly hired and had only begun working a few months ago, so she did not judge Ling Hong and Li Xin with their appearances and started to introduce the models one by one. Hearing her, the salesmen in the nearby counter showed a look of disdain and said "Why bother with the explanations? Look at these bumpkins, they can't possibly afford them anyway. Just show the cheap 200 yuan ones."

He was gazing lecherously at Li Xin and seeing Ling Hong's attire, judged that he was a poor guy. He felt jealous and wanted to embarrass him. Though his voice was not loud, many people nearby heard them. Li Xin was angered as she realized the intention to embarrass Ling Hong. She wanted to retort, but Ling Hong stopped her and spoke to the salesgirl "Just bring out the best model, two of them. One in Grey and other in Blue."

He did not want to spend any more time with idiots like these so he chose to wrap everything quickly. The salesgirl looked stunned at first, but still brought out two iPhones and said "This is the latest model, iPhone 7. It costs 5200 yuan."

Ling Hong nodded, satisfied with her professionalism and asked "I also need a SIM card, do you have any numbers available? Never mind, give me the best one."

The girl hesitated a bit, but still searched for it and said "Sir, we have them and the best number is XXXXX799 but it costs 15,000 yuan. Do you really want to purchase them?"

Before she could get an answer, the man from earlier laughed and arrogantly said "Hahaha do you still think this bumpkin will buy the stuff? You are still new so you don't know, but it's obvious that he can't afford it. If he can buy it, then I'll even eat my shoes!"

The girl looked pale as she heard those words and turned to face them with an apologetic face. But Ling Hong just smiled indifferently and handed out the Diamond Membership card while saying "I can't be bothered by idiots, just take the card. It should be enough."

When the girl saw the card that she got, her eyes shone and yelled "Oh my god! Diamond Membership!" She then turned to Ling Hong and said "Respected customer, forgive me for not greeting properly."

Ling Hong waved his hands and said "It's fine, just get me the things. We're in a hurry."

The girl quickly totaled up the bill and gave him a bag with the phones and SIM inside. She the held out the card and said "Sir, the total comes to 17,780 after the discount. The amount has been credited to your account. Please visit again."

Under the dumbstruck gazes of the nearby people, Ling Hong grabbed the card and passed the bag to Li Xin. They both walked out of the store.

The salesperson from earlier had scared after hearing the word 'Diamond Membership', so he had hid himself. Upon seeing them exit, he heaved a sigh of relief but in the next moment heard a faint voice saying "I hope you enjoy eating your shoes."
