The Way (III/III)

"Ah damn..." I covered my head to shade my eyes from the bright sunshine from the window.

[Will you just wake up? Lazy...]

"You haven't been insulting me good since long partner." I sat on my bed and rubbed my hair.

[Eww, do you like being insulted?]

"....nevermind.." I sighed and got out of bed to freshen up. I opened my bag and took out my clothes for today.

....

"Jhonaass!" I shouted from my window as I saw Jhonas standing near our carriage. He got it ready for us to leave it seemed.

"What Young Master?" He shouted back.

"Do we leave now?" I shouted back in lowercase.

"What?"

"DO WE LEAVE NOW?!"

"YEAH! Just bring Lady as well!

'why should I? She is not a child!'

[You clearly are.]

'Atleast I am not the most streotypical system of a reincarnation fairytale.'

[Can you just go?]

'Suuree'

I was now standing outside Ana's door. I knocked but didn't raised my hands. I knocked at the bottom where my fist was naturally at. That's some extra information for sure.

"Yes Jhonas! Comin- Oh" Ana opened the door happily but her smile dropped in a moment. It was saddening...

"Uh.. it's time to go..." I rubbed my neck.

"Yeah! let's go! I am so excited!" Ana's smile suddenly returned as she took my hand and almost sprinted downstairs. Had she forgiven me?

"Slow down..." I said in a low voice. Her kindness made me feel guiltier. I SHOULD apologize.... but why now? Like she already forgave me right?

"Hehe, just catch up!" She said so but she actually slowed down.

We reached the carriage as the server women wer putting our luggage in the carriage. At the morning, most helpers are women while most men work during night.

"Good morning Lady" Jhonas had a soft spot for Ana, maybe because she has the same haircut as his daughter?

"Hehe.. Good Morning!" Ana said with a cheerful smile as she walked toward Jhonas. It made her blue skirt flow a little. Her shirt was white while her blue skirt reached her knees. I was wearing a black attire with black pants and vest. 

"So, let's leave." Jhonas waved his hands to create those horse like things again.

I remembered... that Ana had not eaten since last night. She wasn't even there for breakfast.

"Ana, did you eat anything?" I looked at her. She stayed quiet for a second before replying.

"I did. I ate early this morning" She replied while facing away and slowly approaching the carriage.

[Thoughts: I didn't liked the food here if I am being honest, so I just took a bite.]

Was she kind of ignoring me? It felt that way but.....whatever.... 

We waited until we were all ready and steady on the carriage and soon, our last day of journey begun.

Hours later

"Hey Ana... are you mad about last night?" I slowly asked after contemplating it for a while.

"Eh?" Ana was looking outside, she turned her face towards me suddenly and her expressions were of suprise.

"No? Why would I? You were just in a bad mood afterall~ It's okay! Just be kinder in future, Alex" Ana said with a kind smile. She started looking outside again with her face on her hands and her elbow on the window.

"After all... "

"After all?" I asked suspiciosly.

"Nothing!" She looked away again.

[Thoughts: You have changed so much that I barely recognize you...]

"....."

[She got a clue I guess. You are so bad at it]

'....'

[.... Partner?]

W- what the hell? I was really shocked. I kept staring at her.

"Can you stop looking please?" Ana said nonchalantly.

The day ended like it and soon, we were outside the academy door. The opening was tomorrow so we booked another hotel room for the night.
