The Girl Of The Orphanage

Arnold and Militis both were given day-offs like before.Arnold was interested in the little girl he saw sitting under the mango tree when he visited the orphanage.

Arnold decided to visit the orphanage once again and see if he can be friendly with the girl.Militis also decided to go with Arnold.

They both went to the orphanage with vict​uals.They handed out the vittles to the sister's and the sister's gave the food commensurately among the kids.The kids became cheerful seeing them.Arnold was searching for that girl but didn't find her anywhere.Arnold then asked Sister Nori about the girl like where is she?, Why does she behave like this? etc etc.

Sister Nori brought a chair for Arnold to sit and she sat beside Arnold." She is always like this, the thing is she lost her parents tragically".Were they killed by bandits while travelling?." No, her parents used to work in the king's palace but after she was born they left their job and started to live in a hut with their daughter spending every day peacefully".What happened to them then?." The king's spare crown was stolen and the king's retainer's thought they stole it and left their job to avoid suspension".

So, were they killed by the king's retainer's?."No, they were put under trial to determine whether they stole the crown or not, luckily the king trusted them so he declared openly during their trial that they were not guilty".How did they die then?."The crown was stolen by the king's advisor and he used hired mercenaries to kill her parents to make it seem like they stole the crown and they had quarrel's with one another which resulted in their death".So were her parents killed in front of her?."No, she was told to climb the tree of their backyard by her parents when the mercenaries attacked their house".I see, did the king's advisor got caught?."No, the mercenaries killed him also and took the crown which was later found by the royal knights as they raided the hideout of the mercenaries".So, she can climb tree which means she's currently on the mango tree."Yes, she climbed up the mango tree the moment both of you came"."She went through such hardships,I'm feeling sorry for her Arnold sama"."When did you come?,I thought you were with the kids",asked Arnold being surprised."I'm sorry Arnold sama when you and sister Nori sat to have a tete-a-tete, I became interested to listen what both of you were saying and started listening to the conversation both of you were having".Eaves​drop​ping is a bad thing you know don't you Militis?."I'm extremely sorry Arnold sama I'll never do it again"."Okay, I forgive you", said Arnold as he felt guilty for eavesdropping on others conversations himself during his past life.

Arnold went closer to the mango tree and stood beside it. The girl was sitting on a higher branch beyond Arnold's reach."Do you miss your parents?", asked Arnold with a sad expression.The girl didn't say anything, she kept silent. I'm envious of you that you can climb a tree this big at your age, let me tell you the truth I still can't climb a tree even though I'm this big.The girl slowly smiled for some time and climbed down."You don't know how to climb a tree?, the girl said with a shocked expression"."Yes, will you please teach me", asked Arnold with a grin on his face.I will but let me say it beforehand I'm quite strict while teaching, is it okay with you?".Yup, it's okay with me, I don't mind even if you slap me on the face every day."I'll start teaching you from tomorrow okay".Okay, I'll look forward to it sensei.

Arnold and Militis left the orphanage during nighttime."Arnold sama the girl is super cute, isn't she?".Yes, she is indeed one cute girl,I wish I had a little sister like her."You can adopt her Arnold sama if you want".I thought about that but the problem is whether she wants to be adopted or not."I think the girl likes you, you should ask her about the adoption tomorrow".I think I'm going to spend a lot of quality time with her before asking her about the adoption."Ok, as you wish Arnold sama".

The next day Arnold and Militis both went to the orphanage.Seeing Arnold the girl rushed towards him and told him to follow her.As Arnold was following the girl, she took him to a Guava tree behind the orphanage to start his training.The girl then gave Arnold a task to do before noon.The task was quite simple, it was to climb up to two branches of the Guava tree.

Arnold tried hard enough but he was only able to climb the branch which was near to the ground.Arnold apologised to the girl saying, "sensei I'm sorry that I was able to climb only one branch".The girl then climbed to the higher branch of the Guava tree and placed her hand on Arnold's head, in a manner of petting him she told, "it's okay you did good try harder next time".Arnold decided that he would complete the task tomorrow for sure.

The next day only Arnold came to the orphanage as Militis was told to study reading and writing.Arnold tried to climb the Guava tree again and again.Arnold at one point succeeded in terms of climbing the tree.The girl clapped her hands and congratulated Arnold for being able to climb the tree.Arnold himself was satisfied that he was able to climb the tree which he tried to do many times in his past life but was unable to accomplish the feat.

As Arnold was leaving the orphanage the girl asked him," are you going to come tomorrow?".Yes, I will why?."It's just I had a lot of fun teaching you climbing a tree, I thought you would stop coming since you learned how to climb a tree"."I'll come for you no matter what happens", said Arnold with a broad smile on his face.The girl became happy hearing out Arnold.

During dinner, Militis sat beside Arnold and asked him about his day.Arnold told her everything that happened.After hearing out what Arnold had to say Militis told him to tell the girl about the adoption.Arnold finished eating and stared at the sky laying on the grass for some time.He decided to ask the girl about the adoption tomorrow.

The next day Arnold climbed the mango tree with the girl and started to converse with her."Do you like being here?", asked Arnold with a neutral face."I don't like it here, I miss my parents".If I said I want to adopt you would you come with me?. As tears were streaming from her eyes to her cheeks she told, "I will go with you".Ok then, I will take you from here.

Arnold went back to the fort and asked for the permission of General Luka to let him adopt the girl.General Luka gave permission on one condition that the girl will learn how to fight with a sword and join him on his missions.Arnold agreed with the requirement.

The next day Arnold went to the orphanage with an adoption letter and adopted the girl officially.What is your name? I forgot to ask you before." I don't have a name my parents were killed when I was only 2 years old so I don't know what name they choose for me".Would you mind if I named you myself? , asked Arnold with a happy face." I'll be delighted if you name me".Ok then, let me think for a while.Arnold went into deep thought about what should he name her.Militis was also waiting to hear what name Arnold would choose.Arnold decided to go with the name "Sirelt" as the girl had beautiful silver hair and red eyes.Hearing the name the girl became cheerful and started jumping out of happiness.Militis also liked the name "Sirelt"."So from now, we will call you " Sirelt", said Arnold with a smiling face".

After the naming was done Arnold was told that General Luka was waiting for him.He at once rushed to the throne room."Did you name the girl?".Yes, I did General Luka, her name is "Sirelt"." That's a pretty decent name I like it".Thank you very much for giving me the authority to adopt and keep her."No problem, I hope you didn't forget the condition".Of course, I remember, I'll find out what her ability is and start her training."Okay, you may leave now".Arnold left the throne room and took Sirelt to Eltrut's room to unravel the ability she possess.

Holding Eltrut's tail for a while Sirelt was praying for a good ability to be useful to Arnold.Eltrut told Sirelt to let go and told her your ability is to inflict damage 6 times considering the number of blows given to the enemy.Arnold became happy that he finally found someone to be the muscle of the team even though Sirelt was a little girl.

The next day Sirelt's training started and she was practising under Sir. Dolk.The swordplay of Sirelt on the first day was breathtaking as she executed every move with keen ultraprecision.Arnold and Militis also trained with her to cheer her up.
