Ultimately, Lucien decided to invest all of his available stat points into Agility. At first, he had considered allocating the points evenly between Strength and Agility, but Auman's explanation made him realize that it would take at least 15 points in each ability to possess similar prowess to a regular soldier or low-rank guard.
As for Stamina, Vitality, and Intelligence, Lucien felt satisfied with their current levels and didn't see an immediate need to increase them. He knew that increasing his Agility would not only improve his physical abilities but also enhance his combat skills and reaction time, which he believed would be crucial in the dangerous world he found himself in. As for the other stats, he planned to focus on them in the future, but for now, Agility was his priority.
With that thought, Lucien made up his mind and immediately allocated all of his available stat points to Agility. As the number in his Agility stat reached 17, he instantly felt a noticeable difference in his body. It was as if his body was lighter than a feather, and he felt a newfound nimbleness in his movements. Curious about the extent of his newfound agility, Lucien decided to test it out by swinging his fist.
However, this newfound speed caught him off guard, and his mind couldn't react in time to prevent him from accidentally striking his wooden desk.
Bam!
"As I was saying, when our ancestor, Seraphine Montclair, one of the seven heroes, drove out the corruption from the kingdom of Avaloria, she--" The professor was in the middle of writing with chalk on the board when a loud crash suddenly interrupted him. He jolted in surprise, causing him to snap his chalk in half accidentally. He stopped speaking and looked toward the source of the commotion. His brow furrowed in irritation.
Several students had turned around in their seats to see what was going on. Their attention was drawn away from the professor's lecture. When they recognized it was Lucien Devereux, known for his infamous reputation for being unruly, some of them rolled their eyes or sighed in exasperation. Others simply looked resigned, as if they had grown accustomed to his behavior. Despite his reputation, Lucien was still a noble and held some measure of influence, which made his behavior a delicate issue for the other students to navigate.
The professor's face twisted into a brief scowl, his eyes narrowing in displeasure. He was fully aware of Lucien's reputation for being a troublemaker, but he also knew better than to cross the Devereux family, who happened to be the institute's biggest sponsor. If he wanted to keep his job and avoid a pay cut, he needed to tread carefully.
He recalled the incident that just happened a couple of hours before his class started, where a fellow professor had kicked Lucien out of his class due to being disturbing and subsequently received a severe reprimand from their superior. The thought of suffering the same fate as his colleague made him swallow his anger and adopt a more conciliatory tone.
Therefore, he deliberately softened his tone, hoping to diffuse the situation and avoid any further disruptions in his class. "Is everything alright, Mr. Devereux?" he asked, trying to sound sympathetic and amiable as much as possible.
"Everything's fine," Lucien replied hastily, feeling slightly embarrassed by the attention he had caused. "I'm sorry, professor, for disturbing your lecture. Please continue," he added with a hint of apology in his voice.
As soon as Lucien took his seat, he felt the weight of his peers' stares settling on him. The intensity of their gaze made him awkward, and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Hoping to divert their attention, he let out a loud cough and cleared his throat before asking, "Is there something wrong?"
The students exchanged furtive glances with each other, their puzzled expressions giving way to shared thoughts. 'Why is he act like a normal student? What's wrong with him? Did he take the wrong medicine or wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?' They couldn't help but wonder if something was wrong with Lucien, as he was known for his rebellious and carefree attitude. It was unusual to see him behaving normally like an ordinary student.
However, the professor soon coughed loudly to bring attention back to him. "Let's continue the lesson."
Despite his efforts, the professor couldn't help but wonder what was going on with Lucien. It was highly unusual to see him behave like a typical student, and the professor couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He briefly considered the possibility that Lucien was possessed by some sort of dark force, but quickly dismissed the thought as fanciful and irrational.
The other students also returned to their routine, and Lucien was left alone again. "What a bunch of weirdos." he couldn't help but quip in a low voice.
His voice was low, but still audible enough for the student seated in front of him to hear. The student's mouths twitched at Lucien's remark, but they decided not to engage in any kind of conversation with him.
'Anyway, my body's speed really enhanced a lot, eh? I never thought that adding just ten points to Agility stat would make my body feel so light and quick. It's no wonder Charlotte was overloaded earlier. That pill gave her an immediate boost of 110+ Intelligence after all!' Lucien thought silently.
The sensation of power coursing through his veins was addicting, and he found himself yearning for more. It made him wonder if this was how those in positions of power felt; once they tasted it, the hunger for more grew stronger.
As he contemplated his insatiable thirst for power, he couldn't help but wonder if there was a more convenient way to level up beyond daily quests and engage in intimate moments. Maybe killing monsters, like in every MMORPG, could provide a more efficient means of levelling. Although engaging in sexual activity with Charlotte was addictive, it was mentally draining.
He also had to be mindful of Charlotte's well-being.
He realized that if he wanted to continue leveling up through such activities alone, he would inevitably have to resort to paying for the services of a prostitute.
Just then, an idea flashed within his mind. If he recalled correctly, the goddess had instructed him to engage in pleasurable activities with women to extend his life limit, whether by providing satisfactory services or receiving them. But there was no explicit restriction on the type of services he could provide, was there?
As long as the woman was satisfied and it was by him, it should be counted, right?
The more Lucien pondered on the idea, the more he found it to be feasible. Initially, he considered discussing it with Auman, but he feared that she might deem it as a type of exploit in the game. Hence, he kept it to himself and started making the necessary arrangements.
First, he observed the girl's student in his class, which already fallen asleep.
The subject of history has always had a reputation for being one of the most sleep-inducing courses. It may be due to the fact that it often involves recounting events from the past, causing some individuals to perceive it as akin to a bedtime story, leading them to find it soothing and eventually drift off to sleep.
With the right ambiance, including a gentle breeze, soft sunlight, and a quiet classroom with only the professor speaking, many students would inevitably find themselves getting drowsy.
And this exact moment was what Lucien looking for. He had found his target seated approximately three rows ahead of him. Despite his uncertainty over whether his ability could affect someone at such a distance, he decided to give it a try nonetheless.
'Dream Manipulation.'
The girl's bobbed brown hair was a little disheveled, as if she had been running her hands through it absentmindedly. Her face, which was framed by a pair of delicate silver hoop earrings, was soft and round with smooth, unblemished skin. Her lips were slightly parted, and her eyelashes rested against her cheeks as she breathed softly in her sleep.
As she slumped over her desk, a gentle breeze, tinted with a soft shade of pink, entered her nostrils, and the girl's cheeks flushed as a result. No one around her seemed to notice the subtle change in her demeanor.
Only Lucien knew what was happening to her.
