Vampire Hunt 3

"Looks like we're f#ck" Kur said out loud. He had informed Yimi of their impending doom. How they were surrounded by hundreds of thousands of undead on either side. If that wasn't all, in the main chamber waiting for them was another large horde and the Vampire controlling them all.

Yimi's eyes widened as her pupils dilated. 'Nearly half a million undead surrounded us' she thought. 'All we have to do is kill the Vampire and the rest of the undead will become mindless husks like before, but killing it will be a problem.'

Yimi voiced her concerns. "Kur do you have any other Minions that could help? I know you've shown your skill in the previous battles, but now... this is too many undead. Do you have any more machines you can summon to help us?

He just shook his head. "No. We do not need any help." He paused and turned his attention to her. "All we have to do is kill that Vampire. I think we can do that wile holding off the rest of the undead." If she could see under his helmet she would see Lucas smiling nervously.

Even Lucas couldn't really describe this feeling. He was terrified of this fight. His life was truly on the line. His enemies weren't powerful, well they were, but he didn't truly understand the power structure of the universe. So he thought this would just be a tough fight of attrition.

The other feeling was excitement. This wasn't the excitement like the one he had when he first fought a handful of undead or the thousands he had killed only moments prior. This was more primal. A thrill of overcoming a fight when outnumbered, and coming out victorious.

Frisson. That is the feeling Lucas inside his Kur suit was feeling. A feeling that is a mix of fear and excitement. Unbeknownst to him, but Lucas was slowly becoming a battle manic. Finding a thrill in tough fits and would be willing to put himself between a rock and a hard place only to test his metal and grow. But that is for another time in our story.

"We can handle this ourselves and I have a plan" Kur spoke to Yimi. He lowered his voice and told Yimi his plan. She thought it was crazy to assume he and her could hold off a quarter million undead while Alduin would take on the Vampire! She knew Alduin was powerful, but even a Nascent realm could be defeated by lower ranked cultivators by sheer numbers. But she didn't have a choice to refuse. Kur was more or less in charge and she was already this deep. Might as well see things through.

Even if she would die she wanted to see things through. The two decided to prepared themselves over the next 10 minutes. The plan was Yimi, Kur, the Bigsky's and the Juggernauts would fight the two ambushing groups. While Alduin and the two Wolven would take on the Vampire and rest of the undead.

Yimi had casted a couple spells, [Iron Bark Skin], [Tiger Talons] and [Bird Speed]. The [Iron Bark Skin] spell made her skin as tough as Iron Bark so no undead could bite her and infect her with the undead disease. [Tiger Talons] spell changed her hands into a mix of tiger claws and bird talons! It would be her main weapon while fighting. [Bird Speed] on the other hand had lowered her weight making her nearly as light as a feather.

This would allow her to move around the battle field. She would be tough, strong and fast. The only down side to this Druid battlemode was she couldn't cast any more spells without deactivating another. Although in this upcoming fight she didn't plan to cast more or any spells. This upcoming fight will be one she needs to be more feral or animalistic type of Druid.

While she casted a handful of spells Kur prepared himself. He talked to his System about sub runes and powers of [Gravity Manipulation]. He was told he had learned a handful of the basic spells of that rune, but would have to learn them himself. It was just like his [Metal Manipulation] skill he developed. He would have to learn to manipulate gravity himself and create his own skills.

His eyes glistened as he thought this fight would be the perfect place to try and learn some new skills. He hoped he could at least create 3 new skills!

Still within those 10 minutes of preparation Kur tested his skill. He remembered the feeling of channeling his mana into his hands to act as a forge to bend, metal and reshape metal. He thought if he could do that with gravity. He first raised his hand and closed his eyes as he cast his [Gravity Pull] skill. Instead of just using it he focused on the feeling. The feeling of his mana flowing from his body and into the air. How the mana would change the mass of the air molecules. He felt the air become lighter as the air before him become heavier. Like a wind tunnel the air was pulled towards him.

'So I manipulate gravity by controlling the mass of objects. I have to find focal points to make heavier while simultaneously making other points heavier. This is really complicated' Kur thought to himself. He had actual grasped an extremely basic understanding of gravity control.

Normally a cultivator would need to be in the Nascent realm or very high Liquifying realm to understand this concept.

With his new found understanding, even if it was shallow at best, he quickly tested one idea. He raised both hands and closed his eyes to help him focus on his mana control. It was tough. He had to force his mana out of his body in a way different than his gravity skills. It was like pushing his mana through molasses. He moved his mana to the top and bottom of the wall. He stretched it out 20ft in length, but as thin as a curtain. Anything more and he began to feel knots in his stomach.

Once his mana was in position he clenched his gut mimicking how he wanted his mana to work. His mana began to increase the mass of the air creating a large 20ft length, 20ft high and only quarter inch thick curtain of gravity. He wanted to create a wall of gravitational force to stop anything. He held the mana in position for a minute before he heard the chime of his system.

[New Skill created!] [Gravity Wall]

[Description: A section of hardened gravity being pushed and pulled simultaneously to create a wall. This not only stops objects from passing, but since it increased the mass of air in this radius gasses can not pass through as well. This is a Nascent level skill]

[Reward: 100 VPs]

[The System is impressed the User can create a skill of such caliber. Even if they hurt themselves in the process. The System suggested the User learn the [Supportive Rune: Mana Manipulation] to help make even more powerful skills in the future]

Kur was happy he managed to create a skill of such high quality and gain some more VPs to spend. But the system was right. He had hurt himself in the process. He could feel his mana pool was damaged and would need time to recover. He felt like he was punched in the gut and ate something bad at the same time. Once this was over he would try to roll the dice to learn the [Supportive Rune: Mana Manipulation] and rebuild his Kur suit.

His maximum mana pool was reduced by 20% because of his heavy handed attempt to manipulate his mana. But he didn't have time to worry about that now. Their 10 minute time limit was up.

Kur raised his left hand and summoned Alduin! This time the portal was purple with greyish green color swirls mixed in, very similar to Alduin's flame eyes. A moment later Alduin stepped out. His mechanical skeletal body stretched out in this new unfamiliar location.

"Where is this master" Alduin asked?

"We are underground in a Druid Temple. We are surrounded by undead and a Vampire controlling them."

"Ahhh" he said as he quickly understood the situation. "I can sense the screaming agony of the souls here" he spoke as though he sniffed the air. "I vow to kill the one torturing these soles." Even if his eyes were made of a greyish green flame, Kur could tell a spark was lit. A spark of determination.

Although he did frill his brows when Alduin mentioned souls, but had no time to ask. They had other matters at hand.

"Your tasks is to kill the Vampire. The Wolven will act as back up to help clear the undead so you may fight the Vampire on equal footing. While that is happening Yimi, myself and the other minions will hold off the rest of the undead. Once the Vampire is killed the rets of the undead should becoming mindless husks."

Alduin nodded and directed his attention to where he sensed the Vampire. It was an evil dark aura coming off the Vampire. One that stretched and had threads to the rest of the undead he also sensed around them. He didn't know why, but he wanted this Vampire and its soul torturing affect killed and eliminated.

Kur wasn't really worried about Alduin in this upcoming fight like Yimi was. He knew how powerful Alduin was. Even if he only had 5 of the 10 runes he wanted to add, the [Supportive Rune: Paralysis and Regeneration], [Protection Rune: Kinetic Energy Absorption and Elemental Absorption], [Destruction Rune: Energy Corrosion]. These runes that Alduin possessed would make him an absolute tank while he could utilize his strength and massive body to kill undead.

"Now we strike!" Kur commanded!
