Chapter 6: Fire Affinity

Eren then kept this hand on the orb and waited. Strange energy entered his body and left.

Eren didn't even flinch because he knew what was that energy and its origin.

When Eren looked at the orb to find his results, he was surprised. The orb was in color cyan. Cyan is a rank above Violent.

It meant he has more attunement to that element and can become a stronger person than Violet's rank mages.

The reason for his surprise was that even though he had expected his affinity to be high. He expected it to be Violet, but all his expectations crashed when he saw his rank as Cyan.

He was very happy…

'Hmmm…. I have a cyan affinity. Now I don't have to broaden my understanding in Lightning because it is more than enough to study Chaos element.' He thought.

After this incident, he started comprehending fire. He stayed like a statue for hours but even then he didn't yield any result.

'I am closer to fully comprehending it. But due to the less amount of fire essence, I can't complete it. I think I want to go to a place which is hot and there try to comprehend it.' He thought and exited his soul realm.

His eyes opened, and even though so many hours passed in the soul realm, it was only about an hour in the real world. It means the flow of time is different.

Eren then went down to find his mother and ask for a hot place. He found Kuromi in her room. He asked,

"Mom, do you know a place which is hot near here? If so, please tell me"

Kuromi looked at him for a minute and said,

"There is a place roughly fifteen minutes from here. It is a mountain that is hotter than any place in this kingdom. But beware, the place is dangerous. If you are thinking of going there, be careful!".

Hearing this Eren was happy. He then said to his mom, "I am thinking about going there mom. I think I can awaken fire element if I go there and try to comprehend it".

His mother sighed but didn't say anything. She then packed some food for him and let him go.

After leaving home and walking out of his area, he quickly made a mask that covers his eyes so that he can't be recognized. He then continued his journey.

How he made the mask?

Simple! Since in his past life he was a chaos user. Being a chaos user means he has an affinity to all elements. After understanding them a person can make any matter out of thin air. Although it would be taxing for the user. But in Eren's case, he was a high leveled user in his previous life. So, he didn't find it taxing. But even he cannot make all objects. He can only make small things. It is because he now doesn't have all elemental affinity and is too weak to handle side effects.

After walking for fifteen minutes he reached his desired destination. It was a low mountain. From seeing it was clear that the temperature was higher than in other places. There were distortions in space indicating the fire element's power.

He then looked for a place that has the highest concentration of fire essence to sit and comprehend it.

'That place is nice' He thought and sat on a rock. Around that rock was the highest amount of fire essence.

After sitting there and making himself comfortable, he entered deep concentration mode. He started absorbing fire elements around him to study them.

His whole body was burning. He was also sweating profoundly.

(AN: Just to make you clear, no one can absorb any element before they have comprehended it or fully know it. In Eren's case, as you all know, he is reincarnated so he can absorb it due to past life memories. Thnx)

This continued for four hours.

The next minute,

*Boom* a shockwave spread in the mountain. The origin of the shockwave was a young, handsome man. The young man opened his eyes and smiled. It was none other than Eren(Atesh).

'Offffff! Finally, I have comprehended the fire element. Now, how do I make mom believe it? Will she believe me? I think she will since it is a great achievement by me that may be recorded in the history of this mortal plane.' Eren thought.

He then started walking back home. Even though it was called walking, his actual speed was like someone running a bit slowly.

When he was nearing his home, he once again saw his dear so-called friend, Lan. But Lan stayed away from him since he knew that Eren could defeat him with a single punch. But Lan didn't leave Eren alone he said,

"Atesh, even if you beat me, you can never beat other mages. It is so because you don't have any affinity. I am still better than you in that. Hahaha!"

Hearing this Eren said, " We will see. I will take the test again in one year and will awaken my affinity by then. Be there to see it" Then he went home.

Lan stayed in the place for a few minutes then he laughed like a madman. "Hahahhahahha! Hahahahahahhaha! He is saying, he would awaken affinity. It's not possible. Hahahhaha!" He also went home with a laughing face.

After reaching home, Kuromi asked

"Attie, how was your training did it yield any result?" She thought that he would have returned empty-handed. She believed it was impossible to awaken an affinity.

Eren smiled proudly and said with his head up, "I have awakened my affinity. My affinity is ... fire..."

His mom didn't say anything. Silenced reigned "..."

After getting out of her stupor she asked Eren in scrutinized gaze, "Hmph! Young man, don't try to fool me. I won't believe you. If you wanna make me believe it, make fire appear in your hand"

*Sigh*

Eren sighed and lit a fire in his hand. It was roughly the size of a tennis ball.

The fire was rare it was in Violent color. It meant it was hotter than any other flame and is purer with fewer impurities.

Seeing this his mother exclaimed in shock!

"This... F-Fl-Flames means you have Fire A-Affinity. She said with broken lines.

Kuromi lept onto her son and cried "Now our family will also have a  mage".

Eren let her be for some time. After that, he said to her, "Mom, keep this secret for now. Only in the test that will happen next year, others should know it. Will you promise me that you will keep it a secret?"

"I promise you that from my mouth not another soul will find out about it.

Eren smiled and went ahead to show his fire mastery. He also helped her prepare food with his fire, this made food cook faster as his fire was hotter than other fires.

After eating, he went to his room and ….. slept.

"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
