25 Outsmarted

Few Days later.. Golden Crow Lightning Valley....

Two figures walked in a valley that looked like it was the home of the God of Lightning and fire. A good half of the valley was covered in molten larva, while the other half was covered in streaks of lightning.

" I never thought you'd call me here so soon Caiyi. Did you miss me that much?" Of the two figures, a man dressed in black sweater with long pants and having his dark glasses resting on his tall nose spoke with a smile.

The other figure who was a beautiful young girl with long black hair and dark emotionless eyes. She simply walked on unconcerned as she ignored his occasional teasings.

After walking for a bit, they arrived within the deepest part of the valley where the flames were even more concentrated.

" Great ancestor. Your descendant Caiyi is here with a visitor who seeks your audience." Huan Caiyi performed a ceremonial bow as she spoke in a respectful tone.

" Unfilial descendant, how dare you bring just anyone to this Sacred Ground!" A slightly feminine voice rang out in anger as a pair of large golden eyes manifested in front of them.

" Hey you Golden Crow Spirit. Do you mind answering some questions for me?" Damien spoke as he waved his hand and a small

silver chair materialized and he sat down.

" Foolish mortal. You dare to disrespect this Supreme One?! Die!!!" The feminine voice roared out in anger once more, before hundred feet large golden flame cyclone manifested and completely swallowed Damien.

" Supreme One? You're just a prideful chicken who neglects her descendants and even causes them to suffer." An irritated voice resounded, before the large flame cyclone disappeared in a flash, revealing Damien who was adjusting his glasses.

" You!!!! I'm gonna rip you apart!!!" The voice let out an angry shriek, before massive amounts of flame essence began to gather.

" I promise, if you make a move, the last thing the great Golden Crow Spirit is going to witness before the end of its pitiful existence is my handsome face!" Damien lowered his glasses, before his Pupils of Absolute Destruction flared, which caused the surroundings to begin to disintegrate.

" You dare to threaten me?" The Spirit shrieked, however it ceased its actions, seeing that the mortal in front of it was no ordinary person. " Threaten? No no. It's just a piece of advice." Damien smiled as he crossed his legs. A bunch of strawberries appeared in hand of which he offered some to Huan Caiyi and ate the rest with a large smile.

" Now let's talk like civilized people. Violence isn't the only way." Damien smiled enigmatically before staring at those huge golden eyes in front of him.

" Where is the Rage God?" Damien asked. His smile not leaving his face one bit. He knew there was a bit of a relationship between the Golden Crow and the rage God but he didn't care. He just wanted to know where he was.

After viewing multiple timelines, he had come to one conclusion. The death of the evil God Nie Xuan was a fixed occurrence, something that fate had predetermined. Damien could infer that all this was done in preparation for Yun Che who would go on to become the next Evil God.

Mo Luo's death however wasn't a natural occurrence. He had been killed and the Heaven Punishing Ancestral Sword had been stolen from him. However the traitor was unknown, and even with his ability to view future timelines, he couldn't still find the person. However, the rage God had also mysteriously disappeared after the death of Mo Lou, and was nowhere to be found.

This wasn't his final conclusion, however it the most probable one and the chances of it being true were more than 70 percent.

" I-I don't know what you're talking about." The Golden Crow Spirit feigned ignorance. However Damien immediately sensed a minute change in the energy fluctuation of the surrounding.

" Don't lie to me Golden Crow Spirit. Tell me where your lover is. " Damien sat with an amused smile.

" I will tell you everything young mortal. However promise me one thing"..., Seeing as Damien was unwilling to relent, she couldn't hide the truth anymore. It was an issue that had weighed on her heart for countless millennia. She wanted to let go of all the guilt.

" What do you want?" Damien sat with a lifted eyebrow and asked. " Spare his life ." She lowered her eyes as if she was pleading with him. " Hehehe. What a strange request. But why this?" Damien couldn't understand.

" Because he doesnt have his power anymore. He threw himself into reincarnation to atone for his wrongdoings." She spoke which caused Damien to frown completely.

" Hahahaha!!! "Damien laughed out loud. It turned out, he had miscalculated. " What a smart bitch.She has even managed to use time to cover up her tracks." Damien laughed which surprised the Golden Crow Spirit.

" It's alright Golden Crow Spirit. " It turned out that the future timelines he had been watching to conduct his research had been manipulated. The Rage God had thrown himself into reincarnation in order to atone for his sins, not because he killed the Heaven Punishing Ancestral God, but because the demon race had used him as bait to cross the massive void and attack the Gods. He felt guilt and shame and decided to throw himself into reincarnation to atone for his sins.

Damien was slightly shocked. The way the evidence was manipulated was so precise, no single detail was left out. Even someone as smart as he was, was fooled. There is only one person strong enough to manipulate fate and time to such an extent. No one other than the Ancestral Goddess herself.

" How pitiful. To think I was fooled." Damien facepalmed. He had been right about her all this while. She had used the Gods as playthings for her own amusement but for what reason. Damien could tell she was planning something extremely big, but he didn't know what it was.
